Chapter 276: Change of plans (2)
"I won’t be my father’s favorite child when he realizes what we came here to do. I imagine that my mother is going to strangle the hell out of me and Samuel is going to enjoy it. What a beautiful family reunion this will be," Regina sighed.
"There is the option of using fear," Vincent suggested as it wouldn’t be hard for a werewolf to scare information out of anyone. Quite frankly, he would find it to be entertaining.
"I’m going to deal with my family. Thank you very much. Here goes-wait, do you hear that?" Regina rested her left ear against the door of her parent’s bedroom as she heard a faint noise coming from inside.
"One man, one woman. They’re yelling at each other. The woman is mentioning being placed in a cell," said Vincent.
Regina found that to be more surprising than the possibility of someone hurting Minnie. Though her parents argued a lot her father never threw their mother out or severely punished her.
"Are we certain the blood in my room belongs to an old woman cause the only person capable of throwing my mother in a cell is Minnie? Did the two of you miss me?" Regina asked the moment she pushed open the unlocked door. "I would hope my parents missed me."
"Regina," Nathaniel’s facial expression changed from anger to happiness. "Where have you been? Do you know how much I have been searching for you?"
"You’re just going to sweet talk her? Everything went wrong because of her. We are in this predicament because of her!" Rachel yelled at her husband.
Minnie went on a rampage because Regina ran away. Duncan was now dead because Regina ran away. Samuel had been overworked to find wherever Regina ran off to. The only thing that came out of Regina running away was Nathaniel standing up to his mother but the outcome wasn’t good for Rachel.
"It’s good to see you too, mother. I’m happy to see that when your daughter ran away because she feared for her life, you were upset at me. I’ll never understand why you dislike Minnie so much when you are not so different from her," said Regina.
Rachel used her son to get what she wanted and cared more about money than her own family. In Minnie’s case, she cared more about power than her own family. Rachel and Minnie thought alike and maybe that was the reason they never saw eye to eye. Two strong greedy women would never be able to coexist with each other.
"Do not sass me, Regina. You’ve caused nothing but trouble and everyone here has to deal with the mess you leave behind. Why have you run away only to come back? Is it because you heard Minnie is now resting in a cell? That doesn’t mean I will forgive you. How could you not mention you were able to mess around with spells?"
’So it was Minnie’s blood. Who attacked her?’ Regina wondered. From the way her mother spoke about being placed in a cell according to Vincent, it couldn’t have been her. ’Was it Samuel or my father?’
"Answer me, child!" Rachel yelled.
"She would answer you if you stop being so aggressive and loud. Our daughter has returned to us and this is the way you are talking to her? I should have left you to rot with my mother," Nathaniel deeply regretted his decision to bring Rachel back from being in a cell.
He only did it to act as a family to not scare Samuel and Regina. He wanted to show that their family could move on from everything that happened and act normal but it could not happen. The parents could no longer take being married to each other and the siblings wanted each other dead. There was absolutely no way for this family to return to what it once was. freёweɓnovel.com
"You were the one to hurt Minnie?" Regina questioned her father. She found that to be impossible.
"Yes. I could not allow her to continue hurting you, Regina. You have no idea how much I’ve prayed that you and Samuel would remain normal so that my mother could not use you. It was my fault for letting grow up so close to Aurora but everything worked out in the end. Your grandmother will not be able to harm you," Nathaniel promised.
"Where is she?" Regina asked. She didn’t care to hear his sweet words after everything she had been through. He should have protected her and Samuel from Minnie from the very beginning. "Where is Minnie?"
"Regina, it’s not a good idea for you to see the state that she is in. Come child, I’ve missed you so much," Nathaniel took a step forward expecting Regina to run to him but he immediately stopped when she did not move. "Regina, I said come here. Do you know how much your disappearance worried me?"
"It’s easy to tell from the fact you were here arguing with her instead of searching for me. It doesn’t make me feel happy you sent out all the staff to find me while you remain at home, father. I am angry with you and nothing will change it. Where is Minnie?" Regina asked again.
"Why do you want to see her? As your father said, she’s not in a state you should see her in. Return to your room and we shall have a talk in the morning. Go," Rachel ordered Regina.
"Where is Minnie?" Aurora entered the room to offer Regina aid since they were not answering her question. "It’s nice to see you again Nathaniel and Rachel. I won’t refer to you as mom and dad since I have my memories back. Now," Aurora made her knives with black smoke appear into thin air. "Where is Minnie?"
"Do you think I would tell you where my mother is when you’re here to kill her? To kill all of us?" Nathaniel asked.
"Honestly, I did not expect you would tell me but since you won’t tell Regina either, I will have to use fear," Aurora said then aimed the knives at Nathaniel before they moved to attack him.
"No!" Regina yelled.
