Chapter 216: Traitor (2)
"Graham!" King Charles gripped the arm of his throne. "You dare walk into my home and lie to me?"
"I swear to you that my nephew is dead. I saw it with my very own eyes. The wolves must think you people had something to do with Vincent’s death and came here to avenge him. I swear to you, I have not deceived you king Charles," Graham bowed his head to show his loyalty.
He remained composed on the outside but on the inside, he was a nervous wreck. If Vincent had played him all along and followed him here, that meant Vincent was here to kill him and expose him for working with vampires.
’No, I saw it for myself. Vincent is dead,’ Graham decided to remain firm on what he saw.
"Guard! Are you certain it is Vincent leading the wolves?" Charles ignored Graham and asked the guard.
"Yes! Many of us saw with our own eyes that the wolf beast is out there. Unless another alpha is here, that is Vincent Lawerence," replied the guard.
"Graham lied to us," Percy interjected, attempting to complete the deal he made with Aurora.
Charles hissed, growing out his sharp nails itching to kill Graham. He spared Graham’s life when the man infiltrated his home and aided him with men to take over the wolves. This was how he was repaid? "Kill Vincent Lawrence or so help me I will kill every guard who allows him to get past them."
"Never trust a werewolf. I have been too lenient with you so you do not fear me. Is that right? I will show you what happens when you try to stab me in the back," Charles stood up from his throne to go down to Graham.
"Please, if Vincent was alive this entire time I would not have come here. My nephew has deceived me. Please believe me," Graham kept his head down.
He was outnumbered and the two men he brought along wouldn’t be enough for him to get away so he would have to use the two men as a distraction and run for his life.
"Oh, I believe that you were deceived by your nephew, Graham. Unfortunately for you, I no longer have the patience to deal with your incompetence. It is time we cut off this little partnership we had going-"
"I can still help you kill my nephew," Graham finally raised his head trying to plead his case of still being useful. They shared a common enemy and if Charles could forgive him for this entire ordeal he wouldn’t have to try to run away.
"How? I can sense that Vincent is here because he knows you are here with us. He knows that you are a traitor to your people. What use are you to me if I release you and Vincent either kills or imprisons you? You are no longer useful to me," Charles grabbed Graham by the neck when he stood close enough.
"You should be glad I haven’t killed you already for being a waste of my time. It’s only thanks to my hands being clean that you are still alive. After all, thanks to you, I got to kill an alpha and his wife. I won’t be saving your life a second time," Charles grinned, revealing his fangs. He released Graham’s neck.
"I won’t be going back to the community as yet so Vincent won’t be able to kill me-"
"No no," Charles waved his finger in front of Graham’s face. "You no longer work for me therefore you are nothing more than a mere werewolf again. Guards, make sure you kill all the wolves in my castle. All of them."
"W-Wait," Graham tensed up seeing the guards who were hidden away in the room start to appear out of the dark corners.
"This is boring," Xavier stood up from his seat and left the throne room. He would rather watch Vincent fighting or join in on the fight.
"What do we do now?" One of the men Graham brought with him asked.
"You fight!" Graham exclaimed, pushing the man forward for him to fight. Graham used this opportunity to make a run for it. Today was not the day for him to die. Especially by the hands of a vampire.
Graham had not been out in a fight since his brother’s death but he remembered all the tricks needed to get the hell out of this palace.
"Stop running mutt," a vampire sank its nails not Graham’s shoulder to stop him from running but instead of that happening, Graham grabbed the hand and tossed the person over his shoulder.
"Ugh," he groaned as the vampire’s nails dug into his skin as he tossed the man. "Fuck. Where do I go now?"
Graham’s memory of the palace was blurry and all mixed up thanks to his panicking. He heard the footsteps of vampires right on his heel and in the end, chose a random direction to go off in. Any direction was better than staying in one place and getting caught.
"I’m going to really kill Vincent whenever I see him and then I’ll kill Charles-"
"Not likely," Xavier knocked out Charles with a kick. He was on his way back to his bedroom when he heard someone panting and saw the werewolf getting chased by guards. "Drag him back to my father," he ordered the palace guards.
"Yes, prince."
Meanwhile, Vincent tossed a vampire into a wall as he and his group got rid of the last ones following after them.
"It’s time to leave. We’ve got enough of their attention." Vincent didn’t want to stay too long or they would be extremely outnumbered. If vampire royalty were to join in on the fight, his group would be screwed as royal vampires were much stronger than the normal ones.
"Move out," Derek ordered the three men. So far their group wasn’t severely hurt but if they stayed their luck might run out. "What do you think will happen to Graham?" He asked Vincent as they started to retreat. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"I heard a faint noise nearby that sounded like a howl. Either my uncle has been captured or the king has ordered Graham to be killed. For now, we get back to the community and then talk about this. Lead the men back safely Derek. I will distract them," Vincent separated from the small group to make the vampires chase him.
They would be more interested in the alpha than four regular werewolves. Vincent shifted into his other form as he ran through the dark forest in the opposite direction of Derek and his men.
"You mutt-"
Vincent grabbed the hand of a vampire who popped out of nowhere and harshly pulled it away from the creature’s body. He didn’t have time to finish off the creature as more of them were hot on his tail.
Once he made it out of the dark forest, he would have the advantage. More werewolves would be in the forest nearby the wolf community. There he would have more men to help him fight against the bl0odsuckers.
"You are outnumbered, Vincent. I know it is you who killed Seth!" A voice yelled not too far behind Vincent.
To catch the person off guard, Vincent turned around, jumping in the air to slash the vampire following closely behind him in the face. Now they could speak to Seth in the underworld.
Unfortunately, this action caused Vincent’s anger to increase and it was becoming harder for him to control his alpha form. The beast was now out for blood and willing to fight against the hundreds of vampires chasing behind Vincent.
Vincent loudly howled for it to reach his men that he was going to stand his guard and fight. There was a chance the vampires might follow him back to the community even if they were risking their lives to kill Vincent.
"I made it just in time. Aren’t you a little too confident Vincent? How can you take them all on your own?" Aurora ran to Vincent’s side. She was on her way back home when she heard Vincent’s battle cry close by. She knew being the alpha he could take on many vampires but she was not going to let him do it alone.
"Sweet," all the vampires said in unison. Aurora’s sweet smell filled their senses and now, their attention had gone from Vincent to her.
"Don’t even fucking think about it," Vincent warned the bloodsuckers.
"I knew you were going to take them out on your own," Derek panted, appearing by Vincent’s with two of the men. One had run back to the community to get more fighters. "You know I enjoy a good fight," Derek’s eyes glowed.
"Don’t get in my way," Vincent warned everyone who was on his side. He wasn’t with all the talking and wanted to start killing off the vampires before they could get close to Aurora.
"Ha. I should say that to you," Aurora made hundreds of her knives with black smoke appear to be used as her weapons.
