Chapter 197: The visit (2)
He casually strolled away from the horrible statue to look around for their bedroom. One by one he pushed open the doors he passed by and closed them when it wasn’t a bedroom. The third door Vincent pushed open revealed a large bedroom that he assumed belonged to Graham and Cecilia.
Moving quickly before Cecilia might return, he sniffed around the room for anything with his uncle’s scent. Surprisingly, this bedroom carried more of Graham’s scent than Cecilia’s. She couldn’t have been frequenting it regularly.
Vincent went to a table where there were all sorts of jewelry lined out. Some for a woman and some for a man. Having the shot glass already, Vincent took up three rings belonging to his uncle as a precaution in case the shot glass was useless.
With what he needed, Vincent went back out of the bedroom quietly closing the door behind him. He placed the rings in his pocket going back to the statue to act like he never left there. He decided to listen to what was happening downstairs to see if his distraction was working.
"For the last time, I did not order those clothes. Do I look like the type to wear something so cheap and tacky!" Cecilia yelled at the strange delivery man at her door. Had the clothes looked good she would have thought Graham bought them as an apology but they were all things she wouldn’t wear.
"You’re wearing something expensive and tacky right now," the man pointed at her clothes.
Cecilia grew out her claws tempted to dig out the man’s throat. "Get the hell out of here before I gut you like a pig and send the meat back to your family for them to eat," she threw the clothes he tried shoving in her hands out in her front yard. "You better clean up all of that before I return or I’ll kill you!"
"Now," she turned around after closing the door. "I have to entertain Vincent," Cecilia smiled, running back to the second floor.
Vincent cringed disliking how someone meant to be his aunt acted around him. Before she went after Graham, she tried her luck with Vincent and then Victor. She was no aunt in his eyes. "Everything alright?" He acted concerned even though he was the one to set up the cheap clothes sent to Cecilia. "I heard something about cheap clothes."
"That wasn’t for me! They had the wrong house and wanted directions. I would never wear such clothes."
"Funny, I have a good memory of everyone’s family history. Your family didn’t start off too well. What an incredible life story you have. Come from a family of Omega’s but married a man with such a high rank. Your parents must be proud of you. What room are we going to next?" Vincent stood waiting for her to choose the next place for him to see.
He wanted to cover as many rooms with his scent as possible so his scent in the bedroom wouldn’t be so suspicious. Plus, it would piss off his uncle to come home and smell his house full of Vincent’s scent.
On the other hand, Cecilia was quiet as she thought of Vincent’s words. It had been so long since she thought of her parents. They had made more for themselves in the coming years but it hadn’t been enough for her in the past. They were still omega’s no matter how much money they got.
When she was trying to snag a rich husband, she distanced herself from her parents so no one would bring up her family was filled with omegas. Cecilia figured after her marriage to Graham she would be able to talk with her family again but Graham advised her not to speak with them.
Her parents had turned their backs on her for her lack of acknowledgment. Still, she paid someone to keep informing her of what her parents were doing. To start off omega’s, her parents made a name for themself with hard work and saving while she used her looks to get ahead.
’I don’t care,’ she pushed those aside. Cecilia didn’t regret anything she had to do to get where she is.
It all worked out in the end. Her parents had wealth and so did she. Everyone was happy.
"That room is one of my closets. I might have to start giving away some of them before the new things arrive. What size is the girl you are seeing? She can take whatever she wants," Cecilia entered the closet looking around for something to donate to Aurora.
She was still extremely pissed Aurora had been given the necklace. ’If only those men did their job right the necklace would be in my hands right now.’
"Why would she need to get anything from you? Do you think I can not afford to buy her everything she needs? Do I look in need of a donation for the woman I am with?" Vincent glared down at Cecilia thanks to him being much taller.
"No-ugh," she cleared her throat and felt herself become sweaty all of a sudden. "I was just-"
"I’m kidding," Vincent snickered, walking pass Cecilia to get a better look at her closet.
Cecilia blinked twice wondering if she heard wrong with Vincent saying it was a joke. How was it a joke when he looked at her like he wanted to end her life? "Ah, yes. Ha ha ha," she awkwardly chuckled then felt her chest. ’He’s planning on killing me, isn’t he?’ frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Next room," said Vincent.
"Oh yes. I guess a closet wouldn’t interest a man. Aside from that, you should really bring that girl-"
"Aurora. Her name is Aurora," he corrected Cecilia though he was certain she already knew the name. People were really playing in his face these days when it came to Aurora. "It’s been a while since I tortured someone," he looked at his nails.
"Sorry?" Cecilia didn’t understand why he was bringing that up now. "You’re here to kill me?" She accidentally asked out loud.
"No, unless there is something you think I need to kill you for? Trust me," Vincent placed his hand on her shoulder ignoring the way she flinched. "I’m not here to kill you today. What room is this?" He retreated his hand, pointing at the bedroom he was previously in.
’Should I be worried he said he won’t kill me today? Then there’s the possibility he might kill me tomorrow or the day after that,’ Cecilia nervously bit her claws.
"T-That’s our bedroom. I just remembered that I need to leave home shortly so we would have to end our tour here but you are welcome to come again. Specifically when Graham is here so the two of you can talk and bond with each other. It’s about time the Lawerence’s come together again. It shouldn’t be so difficult for all of us to sit down and have dinner."
"You are right," Vincent wholeheartedly agreed with her statement. "I’ll get rid of the issue and then we can all have dinner at my home."
"Really?" Cecilia was surprised to hear Vincent wanted to mend his relationship with Graham. She wasn’t expecting him to actually want to fix the broken relationship he had with his uncle. "Are you really Vincent?" She stepped away from him.
"I should have known when you came to visit that you weren’t the real Vincent? Who are you? Did I die and this is my punishment? Did I somehow fall into another world? Graham killed me, didn’t he?"
Vincent chuckled because for the second time today someone thought it wasn’t the real him and they had fallen into another world. Why did everyone paint him as a person who isn’t nice? "It is really me. No one can recreate how perfect I am. Thank you for the short tour. I will take my leave so that you can go back to what you were doing. Tell my uncle I said hello when he returns."
"No problem."
"Where is he by the way?" Vincent stopped to ask the question. His uncle left the gates once in a blue moon and came back after a good amount of days but each time he returned with nothing on him.
Vincent had his men track Graham but each time they did, they lost Graham’s trail. Whatever Graham had to leave for must be important and Vincent had a feeling his uncle was leaving to meet with vampires. There was no doubt in his mind Cecilia also knew where Graham was going because of her nervous reaction.
"He likes to get away from the community to clear his mind from time to time. I have no idea where exactly he goes but he always returns safely. I will tell him you stopped by as soon as he returns."
"As a way for us to bond, I should take one of those trips with him. Don’t you think so Cecilia?" Vincent hid a grin from Cecilia as he teased the woman. It was pleasing to hear her heartbeat increasing.
"Sounds wonderful," she said but she was crying on the inside.
