Chapter 120: Here (1)

"I’m done with this nonsense. I don’t wish to know about anything," Aurora panted as she opened her eyes and found herself back at the desk she fell asleep at. She wished her body would stop doing things without her permission like making plants talk or taking her someplace she never asked to go. "Oww," she groaned, looking down her wrist to find it full of bruises where the vines had held onto her. Luckily, her hand was healing.

Aurora still felt the growing fear from being pulled towards the stone table, the chills from hearing her own screams, and the small growing anger she never wanted to give in to. It was annoying how each way she turned, her life became less normal. It was going well up to this point. "When on earth am I going to get a break," she tugged on her hair to release her frustration.

"I don’t want to know what they did to me anymore so leave me alone. I’m going to forget about everything else and just live as normal as I can," Aurora tried to convince herself but knew deep down she would have to face her fears of finding out more about how cruel the Hamiltons were. It was just scary to experience that kind of fear all alone. She wished she had Regina here so that she could talk about what she was going through and have Regina try to cheer her up. freewebnovel.cσ๓

As much as Aurora liked Mari, they weren’t that close for her to share these kinds of feelings with the young girl yet. She didn’t feel this way with Jane either. She needed a girl friend to talk to at times like this. Cherry was also an option but she also wasn’t that close to the busy woman. The only person left was Vincent but it felt weird to go to him and bring up her fears. She had a feeling he wouldn’t laugh at her but she was always told to only talk about her troubles with other women.

"How weird," she mumbled, wishing he was home to invade her space and find out what was wrong with her. Aurora unconsciously tapped her fingers on the desk as she counted down the seconds for Vincent to return home even though he didn’t tell her when he would.

Aurora suddenly became conflicted about telling Vincent of her fear of remembering her past when she realized this entire time he had been patiently waiting for her to get back her memories and return to the person he once knew. How was he going to react to her saying she was terrified and wanted nothing to do with remembering her past?

Life was unfair in the way it kept throwing hurdles her way. She just needed one person to talk to right now to help clear her mind before she became too lost in the fear and gave up on what she was doing. She covered her ears when the screams started to come back again

"I have to talk to Mari or Jane," she decided even though she didn’t want to burden people she recently met with her problems. Aurora stood up with a shaky balance as her vision became blurry. Her breathing picked up again and the room started to fill with thorns just like before. "I need to calm down," she panted, making her way out of the room behind her closet.

Aurora’s chest felt on the verge of bursting like someone had their hand squeezing and making her unable to breathe. She tried her best to aim for her bedroom door so someone would know she was in pain. Turning the doorknob, she was prepared to call for Mari or Jane but was surprised when she found someone already standing outside her door.

"Vincent?!" She exclaimed both happy and surprised to see that he was back home.

Vincent frowned noting there was something wrong with her from her heavy breathing and the look of pain. He checked to see if she was physically hurt anywhere first. From the tip of her head all the way down to her toes. He would hate to know that anyone had dared to trouble her while he was away. For her, he’d kill anyone in a heartbeat. He became more concerned when he found nothing that might have caused harm to her body.

"Did someone say something bad to you? Point them out right away," he urged her knowing her nature to not want to get anyone in trouble but now was not the time to act that way. Anyone who made her cry while he was away needed to be punished. "Who hurt you?" He asked itching to break the neck of the person who upset her.

Her silence was frustrating but he knew she needed a moment to calm down. Instead of trying to figure out who hurt her now, Vincent switched his approach in trying to calm her down first. Especially now that he noticed the growing thorns in her room. "Take deep breaths. Like this," he placed both hands on her shoulders to help her calm down.

Aurora took deep breaths just like Vincent instructed her to do. It didn’t work at first but the more she focused on what he was doing it started to help her get over the fear she was experiencing. "Thank you," she told him when her body started to calm down. She looked back in her room to see the thorns were still there but at least now they were slowly going away.

"What happened?" Vincent couldn’t refrain himself from asking now that she had somewhat collected herself. He needed her to be honest in telling him what happened. He didn’t care who it was, if someone had hurt her, Vincent planned to give them back that pain tenfold. "Did anyone upset you?"

"Yes. Would you like to come inside Vincent?" She asked after noticing some of the workers peeping at her door from the stairs.

Catching her drift and knowing she had a spell to block out others from being able to hear what she wanted to say inside her room, Vincent stepped inside her bedroom for the two of them to talk. Thankfully, the thorns weren’t as crazy as last time but he knew if she kept this up, the thorns might end up destroying his home one day.

Aurora was the first to sit on her bed followed shortly by Vincent. "Would you believe me if I said I made a plant talk? Was that something I did in the past?"

"You brought it up more than once. I looked at you crazy at first because it’s not every day someone tells you they can communicate with plants."

"What made you believe my words to be true?" She looked at his side profile full of wonder. If she wasn’t the one going through this, she wouldn’t believe anything about talking to plants.

"Well, I am a werewolf and there are many unexplained things already in the world. I’ve heard fairies sometimes used plants to get secrets so why shouldn’t I believe you? Is that what made you so upset? A plant made you cry?" He found it funny that someone could find themself in that position.

"No, I made myself cry. You see, I was conflicted about burning a wolfsbane plant I have in that room over there and somehow made it talk without realizing it. I felt apologetic and took a break from practicing with plants and then I woke up somewhere else like when you chased me in what I thought was a dream. I ended up in a cave under a mountain and there was a stone table. Vines tried to pull me down to the stone table as the moon shone down into the cave. I could hear the memories of myself screaming."

"No wonder you’re so shaken up," Vincent understood how such a memory would make her have a panic attack and try to run out of her room. He was interested in finding out about this mountain and cave that she went to. He needed to learn more of how exactly the Hamiltons were able to make her forget herself and make her change into being a child.

"It’s not something I ever want to go through again but if this is how I am meant to have back my memories then I don’t want to feel that again. Is it bad that I don’t want to remember anything? I don’t want to remember what I suffered."

"It’s not bad that you don’t want to. It’s understandable and I figured somewhere along the line you’d be haunted by your past. I liked to believe I would’ve been there to help you but the one time I leave home it happens. You can bury those bad memories you had but you have to realize you’ll have to get rid of the good memories in the process. Is that what you want?" He asked, allowing her to make the decision. Vincent never intended to force her to remember who she was. As long as she was safe away from that family, he was happy.

"Honestly, I don’t know what I want."
