Chapter 1184: Chapter 298: Whirlpool I

Just as Brand’s prediction was slightly different from reality, an hour after he finished reading the letter, the same secret letter arrived quietly at Princess Griffine’s desk, lying still on the ebony table.

Outside the window was the scene before the storm in Ambeser, the wind and rain bleak; the shadow intertwined over the entire harbor had passed through the daylight of the day, though it was only noon, it approached twilight.

Occasional lightning crossed the clouds, thunder roared, and the pale electric light cast shadows of trees clawing through the glass window onto the carpet.

"What’s happening outside?" Princess Griffine asked.

"It’s surrounded layer by layer, and the possibility of breaking out is low, but if the Princess decides, we Knights will fight bloody for your passage." The knight kneeled on the ground, soaking wet, with water from his red cloak dripping onto the valuable carpet, but no one blamed him.

"There’s no need for that, you may leave first, change into dry clothes, Lord Leder." The Half-Elf Girl nodded in response.

The knight responded gratefully, got up, and exited.

"What is the Earth Sword really about?" She raised her head, casting her eyes on the others in the room, "Has anyone seen it appear within the kingdom?"

"Well..." Ou Fuwei’er looked a bit odd: "Actually, yes, and it’s one of ours."

"One of ours?" Griffine seemed displeased: "Why didn’t I know?"

"I only found out recently, Princess," Ou Fuwei’er hurriedly explained, "It’s Lowes."

"Lowes? Lowes Delar from the Ouding Territory? The youngest son of Delar, the current heir of the Ouding family, Count Oting?" The princess contemplated for a moment before recalling the person: "Weren’t they sent by my father to the Southern Territory to find the whereabouts of the Lion Heart Sword..." She suddenly fell silent. In just half a year, the kingdom shifted, and the Lion Heart Sword now in her possession seemed as if Erune underwent a drastic transformation in the blink of an eye.

"What exactly happened?" She asked.

"Oting is outside, why not let him describe it firsthand, external transmission may inevitably be inaccurate," Ou Fuwei’er responded.

Griffine nodded.

After waiting for a brief moment, a pale-faced Oting entered their sight; previously, he almost lost his life during the Trade Wind Ring battle but was saved by Andrew, the Great Druid, narrowly surviving. Though his physical injuries mostly healed, underlying wounds lingered, and after prolonged travel, his demeanor appeared more haggard.

Despite this, he respectfully greeted Princess Griffine.

"Count Oting, is your injury serious? Do you need some rest first?" The Half-Elf Girl frowned upon seeing him in this state. Though she had heard about the mishap during their journey at the Trade Wind Ring, she hadn’t imagined it was so severe.

"Just minor injuries, no need, rather the Princess’s matter is more urgent," Oting replied. Before the Royalist split, he leaned toward the eldest faction, but in recent months, this stance unknowingly wavered.

Every time he thought of the young man he met at the Trade Wind Ring, he remembered the choices he made at that time, so upon learning that the Lion Heart Sword fell into the Princess faction’s hands, he came swiftly.

"Then please tell us about the situation then," the Princess responded.

Oting nodded and began recounting the battle scenario. Though not a good storyteller, he maintained clarity and logic, condensing months of the Trade Wind Ring adventure into a story under ten minutes, yet the causes and effects were clearly stated.

After he finished speaking, the room fell silent. Though Ou Fuwei’er knew well beforehand, Princess Griffine couldn’t help but take a deep breath: "You mean the sword is in that person’s hands? He’s the Lord of Tonyger named Brand, right?"

"Indeed." Oting nodded, but internally thought the Princess surely knew that young man.

"Is there any chance to have him return the sword to the Lion-man?" Liwu suddenly broke the silence, asking.

Everyone couldn’t help but shake their heads. Though Master Liwu was a top Court Wizard in Erune, he lacked political insight. The Earth Sword is one of the Earth Temple’s goals, but it’s not the real cause of this war; regardless of the Earth Sword’s existence, the war will inevitably occur and continue.
