Chapter 320: Chapter 320 - It’s finally her turn to be happy
Corvine was already grateful that Voren had trusted him enough to share the full truth about the curse.
The fact that the Alpha was now offering him such an important place in their future only reinforced one clear thing: this wasn’t about politics or convenience.
This was entirely because of how deeply Voren loved Seraphine, and because he understood exactly how much Seraphine trusted Corvine in return.
"If I’m supposed to return to the pack, then I need people around me that I can really trust," Voren explained, leaning back against the sofa as he carefully weighed everything that could possibly go wrong.
"Kael is someone I would trust with my life without hesitation, but Sera doesn’t have anyone there she can truly call a friend. On top of that, my mother is going to be a real problem because she’s incredibly fond of Jasmine."
Corvine’s brows drew together immediately. The look he gave Voren made it clear he wasn’t thrilled with what he was hearing. "Hold on. Who exactly is this Jasmine? You never mentioned her before." freeweɓnovel.cøm
Voren rubbed the back of his neck and then gave him a full, detailed explanation about Jasmine and the role she had played in his life over the years. By the time he finished talking, Corvine was staring at him with a deep frown carved across his face.
For several long moments, Corvine stayed quiet, letting everything sink in as he processed what he had just heard. Finally, he shrugged. "Well, if Sera doesn’t have a problem with it, then why should I?"
His expression softened a little as thoughts of Seraphine came to mind. "I know Sera better than anyone else does. She’s emotionally intelligent and she knows exactly how to handle difficult situations. She doesn’t go looking for trouble, and she’s not the type to bite if not provoked. If she ever lashes out, it’s only because someone pushed her way too far first."
A small, fond smile curved Corvine’s lips. "She’s always been like that."
Voren listened quietly, taking in every word.
"Fine," Corvine continued. "I’ll accept your offer, but only if everything goes according to plan."
They both knew how fragile plans could be. No matter how carefully they prepared everything, life had a way of throwing unexpected curveballs into the mix. Still, they had to try.
Voren nodded slowly. "No matter what happens, I’ve got your back."
Corvine’s eyes grew red right away. The emotions he had been trying so hard to hold back finally rose to the surface. A bitter laugh escaped him as he looked away.
"All you have to do is make Sera happy, okay?" His voice thickened with feeling. "She’s been through so much, man."
The confession hung heavily in the air between them. "I hated her for a long time," he admitted quietly. "I blamed her for things she didn’t deserve at all. Every time something went wrong, she was the one who ended up carrying the entire burden on her shoulders."
His jaw tightened visibly. "She could have walked away so many times, but she didn’t. Every single time life hit her hard, she stood there and took the blow without complaint."
Voren felt his chest tighten with emotion. He understood that reality better than anyone. The woman they were talking about had endured years of pain without ever receiving the love and protection she truly deserved.
"I know, Corvine," he said, his voice low and sincere. "That’s exactly why things need to change now. It’s finally her turn to be happy."
A faint smile brightened Voren’s face as warm thoughts of Seraphine filled his mind. "That’s also why I’m leaving her with you during the Moon Festival. She still doesn’t want our relationship to become public knowledge, even after the wedding. She wants everything to settle down first."
The decision wasn’t easy for him. In fact, keeping his relationship with Seraphine hidden felt almost impossible at times. Every instinct inside him wanted to show the entire world that she belonged right by his side.
Yet he understood her fears completely. After everything she had suffered through, she deserved the right to move at her own pace. If secrecy made her feel safe, then he would respect that without question.
Corvine chuckled softly. "You really don’t have anything to worry about. Besides, Damon will be there too." freewebnoveℓ.com
The words had barely left his mouth when Voren’s expression darkened noticeably. "No." The response came so fast that Corvine nearly laughed. "I don’t trust Damon."
Without another word, Voren tossed his phone onto the table. Corvine glanced down at it absentmindedly. The screen suddenly lit up with a notification, and the moment he saw the wallpaper, a loud laugh burst out of him. "Man, I really hope Ravyn never sees that screen saver."
Voren didn’t even bother looking down. His expression remained completely unbothered. "Who cares what he thinks?"
Corvine pressed his lips together. The confidence was admirable, but it also worried him a little. He sincerely hoped Voren wouldn’t accidentally create more problems for Seraphine down the line. For now, though, there were more important matters to focus on.
Pushing himself to his feet, Corvine stretched his arms. "Well, judging by everything, it doesn’t look like she’ll be coming back here anytime soon. We might as well move her things into your room."
Voren stood up immediately. That had been one of the main reasons he had come all the way here in the first place.
The two men headed upstairs together. The familiar scent of Seraphine lingered throughout the hallway, making Voren’s heart ache with a deep sense of longing.
When they entered her room, his gaze swept across every little detail. Nothing had changed. Everything remained exactly where she had left it, as if the room itself was still patiently waiting for her return.
While they began gathering her belongings, Voren spoke again. "As for your parents, I owe them an apology." His expression grew serious. "I treated them unfairly. I’ll come see them personally and apologize properly."
Corvine nodded. "That would mean a lot to them."
Voren continued. "And Alpha Humphrey and Luna Kylie. I need to see them too."
The names carried a heavy weight of guilt. There were many bridges he needed to rebuild and many people he had wronged along the way.
Corvine placed a few items into a box before glancing toward him. "I hope you’re inviting her nanny too. Madison and her husband, Einstein." A small smile appeared on his face. "Daisy’s parents adore Seraphine. Honestly, they love her almost as much as we do."
The words sparked something deep inside Voren’s mind. His hands froze around one of Seraphine’s belongings.
