Chapter 102: Chapter 102 Confessions
Elara
As I watched the end of Dominic’s press conference, my face went bright red.
I couldn’t tell if it was the afternoon sunlight through my office windows or Dominic’s bold words.
Whatever it was, the heat had spread to my ears.
Right away, Hannah called me. "Elara, did you see that?" Her voice buzzed with excitement.
My flushed lips barely moved. "Yes."
"Elara, are you sure Dominic is gay? Because he’s totally into you!" Hannah’s voice got higher. "Why would he hold a press conference just to deny rumors about that Vance girl? He’s making sure you don’t get the wrong idea!"
"And he’s been fighting with Alpha Zack over you?"
"Girl, he likes you!"
But I stayed doubtful. "Hannah, you’re reading too much into this. Dominic has always preferred men. What if he’s explaining things to his real boyfriend?"
"Maybe he wants to tell the guy he’s dating that the rumors about him and women are fake."
Maybe he wants to tell his partner that the rumors about him and women are all lies. This whole press conference is his way of apologizing to whoever he’s really with.
Hannah sounded annoyed. "Elara, can you have some confidence for once?"
"There is no secret boyfriend. Mr. Wolfe has liked you this whole time!"
Her words made my heart skip.
[That couldn’t be true, could it?]

Meanwhile, across town, Selina barely heard half of Alpha Dominic’s press conference before throwing her phone at the wall.
The cracked phone on the floor kept playing his words.
When she heard him call her "desperate" and "attention seeking," she bit her lip until it bled.
She couldn’t understand what hold Elara had on Alpha Dominic. The Alpha King never bothered with gossip before. He usually ignored all rumors about himself. And wasn’t he supposed to be gay?
Why would he suddenly care enough to hold a press conference? Unless...
Just thinking about Elara made Selina furious.
Alpha Zack didn’t seem bothered by Alpha Dominic’s public statement, but it made him more suspicious.
"Selina, stay away from Alpha King from now on," he warned.
Selina moved into his arms, acting innocent. "Of course, Zack. I’m scared he might retaliate since I made him look bad."
Alpha Zack said a few comforting words, his jaw tight.

After finishing the press conference, Alpha Dominic sat in his car, staring at his phone screen. The display remained blank with no new messages.
When it finally lit up, it was only Vincent messaging their group chat with a thumbs up.
[Dude, that was smooth. Really laying it on thick for her, huh?]
Normally, Alpha Dominic would have shot back something sarcastic, but the one person whose response he was waiting for remained silent in his contacts.
That evening, he canceled all his appointments and headed home early.
His first words upon entering were, "Where’s Luna Elara?"
Linda looked at him curiously. "Alpha, she hasn’t returned yet."
Alpha Dominic frowned. "I see."
[Had he been too forward during the press conference? Had he freaked Elara out again?]
He shook his head slightly as he walked down the hallway with a towel in hand, but instead of going to his own room, he turned toward her bedroom.
Elara
When I finally arrived home, I cautiously peeked into the living room. Not seeing Dominic anywhere, I quietly sighed with relief.
But Linda caught my sneaky glance and smiled like she knew something. "Luna Elara , are you looking for Alpha Dominic ? He went to the room to rest."
I forced a smile, my escape plan ruined. "Thank you, Linda. Got it."
If he was resting, he’d be either in his study or bedroom.
I walked quietly down the hallway. Just as I turned the handle to my bedroom door, I heard running water.
Steam was coming from my bathroom behind the frosted glass door.
Everything showed someone was showering in my bathroom.
I backed away, wondering if I’d entered the wrong room, but a second glance confirmed I hadn’t.
This was definitely my room.
Right then, the water stopped.
I automatically took another step back, eyes fixed on the thick steam pouring out of the opening door.
Dominic emerged from the steam, with only a towel hanging low around his waist. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Water droplets slid from his hair down his neck, tracing his sharp collarbone before continuing across his muscled chest and along his abs, finally disappearing where the towel started.
He showed no shame as he casually pushed his wet hair back from his forehead, revealing those cool, dark eyes.
"You’re home?" His voice was deeper than usual, rough. "My shower broke. Had to use yours. Hope that’s okay?"
I just stared.
After he’d already used it, what was the point of saying no?
I turned my head to look at the white wall, swallowing hard. "Are you... finished?"
Dominic stepped forward, one hand against the doorframe. The movement caused his towel to slip slightly, making his V-line even more visible in the dim light.
My throat went dry, and I backed away another step.
Seeing my reaction, he smirked, so quick I almost missed it.
"All done. Do you... want to shower now?" His tone was clearly suggesting something that made my cheeks burn red.
I felt annoyed. "Dominic, control yourself."
He chuckled, his voice still husky. "I am controlling myself. If I weren’t, I’d have walked out with nothing on."
Before I could respond, he walked past me, his long legs carrying him out of the room with annoying confidence.
The bathroom door remained open, steam still floating inside like the heat that wouldn’t leave my face.
