Chapter 206: Chapter 206

Aria’s POV

Margaret’s tone sharpened. “Do you not even respect your aunt anymore? You’ve really grown wings!”

I tightened my hold on Lana, standing my ground. “I’m no longer part of the Darvin family. What do I owe you, Aunt Helen?” I lifted my chin, my eyes icy. “And this is Hemsworth Villa, not a place for the likes of you.”

The sudden authority in my voice seemed to stun them. Was this still the same submissive girl they had once known? They must’ve wondered. My wolf snorted softly in approval at their hesitation.

Margaret’s face darkened, but she tried to regain control. “Not part of the Darvin family? Aria, you still have Darvin blood running through your veins, and even in death, you’ll be a Darvin family ghost!”

She reached for me, trying to grab my arm. My wolf surged beneath my skin in warning. I dodged easily, keeping Lana safely against me. “Rest assured,” I said, voice dripping with disdain, “my mother died the day I went to prison. I’d rather claim to be an orphan than associate with you...it’s revolting.”

“Just get out, both of you...and if you don’t leave, I’ll call security. When you’re thrown out, let’s see how your dignity holds up!"

Margaret’s face twisted with fury. “I’m here for Sophia! Because of you, she’s still recovering! Do you have no conscience?!”

I narrowed my eyes, my wolf pacing in silent readiness beneath the surface. “Because of you?” I repeated, every word measured and cold. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

I couldn’t help it, I laughed, though my eyes remained cold.

Aunt Helen visibly shuddered, the scent of unease leaking from her as she nudged Margaret beside her.

Margaret frowned, clearly thrown off. “What are you laughing at?”

I met her eyes. “At your ignorance,” I said calmly. “At how easily you’re manipulated, wielded like a blade you don’t even realize is in someone else’s hand.”

I was done wasting time.

I called security and snapped, my tone carrying the command instinctively. “Who let them in? Get over here and take them away.”

At the gate, Ethan was on duty.

The moment he heard my furious voice through the intercom, he didn’t hesitate. He arrived just in time to witness an ugly scene.

My mother, Margaret, angered by what I had done, raised her hand high in the air, her fingers tense, aiming straight for my cheek.

For a split second, my wolf surged.

I moved before thought could catch up.

My fingers snapped shut around her wrist in the air. The impact echoed dully in my bones, power humming under my skin. A year behind bars hadn’t weakened me, it had sharpened me. My grip was iron.

Margaret’s hand froze, trembling, unable to come down.

She stared at me in disbelief. “Are you rebelling?”

I leaned closer, my eyes glowing faintly in the light. Rebelling? The word was laughable.

Ethan skidded to a stop, breathless and sweating, instantly placing himself between us. “Ma’am,” he said sharply, “you claimed to be Luna Aria’s mother. That’s why you were allowed in. How dare you try to strike her?”

Already humiliated by me, Margaret snapped at him. “Who do you think you are? A mere guard barking at me?”

Ethan didn’t flinch. He stayed planted in front of me, his broad shoulders squared, loyal to the bone.

I flicked him a sidelong glance. “Why did you let them in without confirming from me first?”

Ethan’s jaw tightened. “I am sorry Luna, If I’d known they were here to cause trouble, I wouldn’t have opened the gate. I’d have called the police to drag them out myself.”

Helen shrieked, bristling. “You lowly guard dare to threaten us? Can you afford the consequences?”

“If Luna Aria is harmed,” Ethan shot back, rolling up his sleeves to reveal thick, corded muscle, “neither of you will be able to leave this premises, you will pay the price for your actions.”

The room went quiet.

Their outrage collapsed into fear. “W-what do you mean?” Margaret stammered. “Are you threatening us?”

I watched their cowardice with detached disdain. My wolf curled its lip. Predators didn’t fear loud voices, only strength.

Then a familiar, sharp female voice reached us.

“What do you think you are you doing?”

I turned slightly to see Sophia standing before us, her eyes filled with disdain.

Margaret and her sister practically lit up, relief flooding their faces as if salvation had arrived. “Sophia!”

“What are you doing here?” Helen cried. “Weren’t you still in the hospital?”

“Sophia,” Margaret added quickly, putting on her most pitiful expression. “Look at your sister! She wants the guard to hit us and throw us out! Is there no justice left?”

Sophia smiled faintly, her skin pale, “I was worried about you,” she said gently. “So I checked out early.”

Then her accusing gaze slid to me, “Sister, how could you do this? This is Mom and Aunt. Aren’t you afraid Nathan will find out about Ethan attacking them?”

Ethan blinked, clearly stunned.

“Mother? Aunt?” he said inaudibly.

The confusion rolled off him in waves.

I didn’t answer Sophia, I didn’t even look at her.

Instead, I said with a low growl, “Ethan, escort them out....all three of them”
