Chapter 188: Chapter 188

Aria’s POV

I listened to Alpha Jonathan speak and I was absolutely confused. I had not expected him to be as polite and cordial as he was.

He spoke as though everything that happened was Williams’ fault when it had entirely been my fault. All Williams did was grant my request and borrow me a custom cloth that had not been released yet.

Alpha Jonathan went ahead to apologize on behalf of his brand when I should be the one doing that. I found that quite strange but chalked it up to good manners and etiquette.

Still, I cleared my throat and answered honestly, forcing my mind back to the issue at hand.

“Alpha Jonathan, I specifically requested the custom-made dress from Celestyr brand. It wasn’t released yet, so the buzz was unavoidable. I should apologize, my actions dragged your brand into this.”

He responded in that deep, calm and magnetic voice that felt like waves hiding the strength of an unseen tide.

“No worries, Aria.”

There was something indulgent in his tone, something that felt like a hand brushing gently down my spine. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Had I imagined it?

How could this man be so different from Williams, who was wild and brash like a young wolf still testing his claws? Were they truly siblings?

Before I could puzzle it out, Williams’ familiar voice burst back into the call...no doubt he had taken the phone from his brother.

“How can you be so biased? Forgetting your own brother the moment you meet someone important!” I heard him complain dramatically.

A brief and genuine laugh slipped from me. I stayed silent as they bickered, not wanting to get caught between two snapping wolves. When I glanced at my watch, a jolt of urgency hit me. I had less than an hour before my meeting with Kara.

I exhaled slowly, letting my wolf settle enough for my voice to come out steady.

“This whole thing has spiraled too far. I never intended for Celestyr Brand to be dragged into drama. My explanation alone won’t be enough.”

I hesitated before continuing, “If possible... could you help me contact the head of Celestyr Brand’s PR department to clarify a few things?”

“Aria,” he groaned, “what do you take my brother for?” Williams scoffed.

I paused, feeling a bit regretful. It was indeed a bold request. Williams was just one of Celestyr Brand’s designers. He had mentioned recommending me to his brother, who reportedly didn’t involve himself in business operations. Celestyr Brand was merely one of his international companies. Asking someone of his stature for such a favor is indeed presumptuous.

A flush of embarrassment crept up my neck. What was I thinking? freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

“I’m sorry—that’s too much. Forget I asked,” I murmured quickly. “I need to go handle things. Thank you for understanding.”

My wolf winced at how small my voice sounded. I hung up before anything else could slip out.

Minutes later, my phone buzzed again.

Celestyr Brand had released an official statement.

The bold header filled my screen:

Celestyr Brand Official.

> “According to our internal expert assessments, the dress worn by Luna Aria Hemsworth as speculated online, is indeed a unique custom piece from our brand.”

My breath hitched. I was shocked. From William’s response earlier, It felt as though I had asked for too much, how then was there already an official statement from the brand clarifying things?.

The only person who could have pulled off an intervention like that was Alpha Jonathan.

I must have misunderstood Williams or maybe his brother overheard us and decided to extend his generocity. He has completely surprised me today, first with how polite and kind he was during our conversation earlier, now this.

Relief washed over me, warm and sharp, loosening a knot I hadn’t realized was strangling my chest. My wolf gave a proud, satisfied huff.

I opened the comments.

“I knew it! That’s definitely a Celestyr brand silhouette.”

“This is totally Selina’s style—look at that subtle embroidery!”

Selina.

At her name, something hot and soft bloomed behind my ribs. They were recognizing my work, even without knowing it was mine.

My smile grew... until the ugly venomous comments came.

“Luna Aria may come from a decent family, but she’s a convict in Asterfell with no support, not even from her husband Alpha Nathan...How then can she afford a dress by Selina?

“Exactly my thoughts. We all know Sophia gets all of Alpha Nathan’s affection, so how did she afford the dress?.”

“This must be Hemsworth Group’s PR covering for her!”

“This is Fake! She should apologize for wearing counterfeit goods and playing the victim!”

My wolf snarled so hard I felt my canines ache.

Anger flickered through me like fire racing down my veins.

Cowards...They hid behind screens, throwing stones at a woman they’d never dare confront in person.

I read the rising tide of accusations, each more vicious than the last and my heart twisted painfully.

The insults kept coming...layer after layer, until they felt like they were burying me alive.

The comments that once defended me vanished under pressure, deleted or drowned beneath the growing tide of hatred.

As I scrolled, the malice pouring from the screen felt like a physical force slamming into me. My wolf flinched, retreating to the back of my mind with a low whine. I forced myself to inhale slowly, steadying the tremble in my fingers.

Williams and his brother tried to help, Yet their help had been twisted into something ugly.

Everything was being twisted.

Then I saw it, a statement from Sophia on her personal blog.
