Chapter 42: Behind the Mountain

In the middle of the drowsy fifth-period break, Ahyeon, who had been dozing off with her head on Taeyang’s thigh after pushing together a few unused chairs, suddenly opened her eyes wide.

She jumped up and, ruffling her hair, screamed,

"Kuaaaaah!"

The extremely hysterical scream drew the attention of the entire class. Of course, the ordinary students, fearing retribution, quickly turned their heads away as if they hadn’t seen anything.

"Wow, you startled me," Taeyang said, standing up in surprise. He had been absentmindedly fiddling with his phone while letting Ahyeon rest her head on his thigh.

"Why suddenly?" he asked.

"Why? Why are you asking me that?" Ahyeon’s bloodshot eyes glared at Taeyang. Her disheveled hair sticking out in all directions made her look eerily ghost-like.

Of course, Ahyeon’s friends sitting nearby nodded understandingly. She had been constantly grabbing them and complaining, so it would have been strange if they didn’t know.

"Her frustration finally exploded," one friend commented.

"I knew this would happen," another agreed.

To be precise, it wasn’t so much frustration as it was a buildup of emotional deprivation reaching its limit. Ahyeon could spend 48 hours out of a 24-hour day by Taeyang’s side and still feel it wasn’t enough.

But recently, for the past month, he hadn’t been spending any time with her, which was driving her crazy. Every day after school, he would disappear, saying he had something to do. He did spend a few days with her in between, but that was just a few days out of the entire month.

Ahyeon forcefully sat on Taeyang’s lap and grabbed his shoulders.

"I can’t take it anymore!" she growled, baring her teeth like an animal. Of course, she wasn’t angry or irritated.

She pulled Taeyang’s face into her chest. The warm scent of her skin wafted through his school uniform.

With a half-crying voice, she hugged Taeyang’s head and rocked her body from side to side.

"I’m so lonely. I feel like I’m going to die from loneliness..."

"But we spend a few hours together every day at school," Taeyang reasoned.

Ahyeon became serious. Despite the chilly atmosphere, her words were overflowing with affection.

"How can a few hours compare to living together and sharing the same blanket?"

Hearing that, her friends nearby clicked their tongues and said, "There she goes again," before turning their attention back to their own business. Listening any further would only frustrate them.

"Is that so?" Taeyang asked, smiling bitterly as he lifted his face from Ahyeon’s chest.

"It’s not ’Is that so?’..." Ahyeon pouted, grumbling.

If Taeyang had been spending all his time with Moonbyul for some reason, Ahyeon wouldn’t have felt this unfair. After all, they were family. But he hadn’t even told her who the other woman was, which made her feel even more hurt.

Ahyeon stretched her neck forward and rested her chin on Taeyang’s shoulder. With her lower jaw fixed, she moved her upper jaw awkwardly to complain.

"You don’t even come to the gym."

"I’ve been busy."

"You don’t go on dates with me."

"I’m sorry."

It was true that Taeyang had been neglecting Ahyeon recently because he had been enjoying his time with Sunhye and Sunhee. The last time they spent a long time together was when they watched the sunrise at Donghae.

"And you don’t have sex with me!"

"Isn’t that the most important thing?"

"No, it’s not!" Ahyeon bit his shoulder.

"All three are important!"

"But all that is over now."

No matter how delicious the mother-daughter combo of Sunhye and Sunhee was, having it every day for a month would get boring. From now on, he would probably only see them a couple of times a month.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I’m not going anywhere today."

And most of that freed-up time would be spent with Ahyeon. She still looked disbelieving, squinting at him.

"Then let’s go on a date today. No, I misspoke. Let’s go on a date, just the two of us."

"Okay."

But contrary to Ahyeon’s worries, Taeyang nodded readily.

"Huh?" Ahyeon blinked in surprise.

No matter how much she clung to him and begged, he usually found a way out. But this time, he agreed so easily that she couldn’t believe it.

"Are you serious?"

"Why would I lie?"

"Woohoo!" Ahyeon threw her arms up in the air and cheered. Her hair swung wildly with her exaggerated excitement.

"So, right after school?"

"Yeah, let’s just change clothes and go."

"What should we do? Where should we go?" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"I was planning to go to the gym, but how about we hike the back mountain instead? It’s been a while."

Although it was the height of summer, today was unusually cool and not too humid, making it a good day for outdoor activities.

Ahyeon grinned and hugged Taeyang again.

"I don’t care where we go...♥"

After school, as the sun began to set, Taeyang and Ahyeon met again at the nearby back mountain.

"You’re here?" Ahyeon, sitting on a nearby bench, smiled and waved at Taeyang.

Taeyang waved back but had a puzzled expression. Of course, comfortable clothes were appropriate for hiking, but...

"Won’t that be a bit tough?" he asked, looking at Ahyeon’s outfit.

Ahyeon’s clothes were not suitable for a summer hike. Her black dolphin shorts exposed not only her knees but also her thighs, making her a moving blood bank for the relentless mountain mosquitoes.

Her upper body was covered by a blue windbreaker, which would protect her from mosquitoes but would be too hot due to its non-breathable material. She would likely take it off soon.

"You’ll have to take that windbreaker off in five minutes. You might as well take it off now," Taeyang advised.

But Ahyeon just grinned mischievously and unzipped the windbreaker halfway, revealing what was underneath.

All that was visible were a pair of band-aids. In other words, it would be embarrassing to take it off if anyone was around.

Speechless, Taeyang scratched the back of his head. Of course, it was her choice to wear whatever she wanted, but...

"You’ll be really hot..."

"It’s okay! I can overcome it with the power of love!"

"And there will be lots of mosquitoes."

"Hey! I’m not a man to worry about such things!" Ahyeon slapped her thighs confidently.

"Alright, alright. I warned you," Taeyang conceded.

"Hehe♥ Let’s go quickly~♥" Ahyeon grabbed Taeyang’s arm with both hands, naturally linking arms and pressing her body against his as they started up the mountain.

It didn’t take long for Ahyeon to realize that the power of love couldn’t overcome the heat and mosquitoes.

"Huh-heek... Uh-hoo-eek..."

They were close to the summit, but their linked arms had long since separated.

Ahyeon still clung to Taeyang’s clothes, but it only added to his burden.

"Hoo-hee-heek... Huh-koong-hee-eek...!" Ahyeon panted, barely moving her feet with her back half-bent.

She had underestimated the back mountain. That was all.

Although she regularly went to the gym, she had neglected cardio in favor of weightlifting, and now she was paying the price. The cool air conditioning and gentle incline of the gym’s treadmill were no match for the hot, humid, and steep trails of the back mountain.

Plus, even though the sun had set, it was still hot and humid. Her energy drained twice as fast.

Taeyang, silently enduring Ahyeon’s weight, finally stopped at a small lookout point with a bench. After confirming that no one was around, he turned to Ahyeon.

"Want to cool down a bit?"

"Phew... Yeah..." Ahyeon collapsed onto the bench. A slight breeze cooled her sweat.

"Ah... That feels good..."

After resting for a while, Ahyeon looked around and smiled. There was no one in sight, and in such a deep forest, there was no chance of anyone seeing them. She carefully stood up.

"Tae-yaang~" Ahyeon called out, drawing out his name.

Leaning against the railing surrounding the lookout, she smiled seductively. Taeyang, who had been admiring the view, turned to look at her.

At that moment, their eyes met.

Ziiip—

Ahyeon slowly unzipped her windbreaker, letting it fall open to reveal her sweaty skin glistening under the orange lights of the mountain trail.

"Haah... Taeyang..."

Ahyeon cupped her breasts, feeling the sweat beneath them.

"I..."

Her sweaty fingers traced the band-aids covering her nipples and areolas, which were visibly erect.

"I’m so wet... So..."

Her voice, her expression, her actions—everything about Ahyeon was quickly eroding Taeyang’s self-control. Finally, she stuck out her pink tongue and licked her lips.

"Wipe me...♥"

"Ha." Taeyang gasped, his mouth twitching.

"I warned you about the mosquitoes."

Of course, there was no way he could refuse her now. He immediately grabbed her arm and buried his face in her armpit.

"Kyaheung♥" Ahyeon moaned in pleasure, her voice filled with desire.
