Chapter 68: Chapter 68
Cecil sat on one of the tree stumps that were at their campsite, there were a number of them and they made for good makeshift stools.
He was bent over, drawing squiggles on the ground with a stick while Alois with the help of Terrell and two other Alphas started a fire to roast the fishes caught when Perry walked over.
Cecil straightened up, a questioning look in his eyes when the Alpha squinted at him.
"Is that a bug bite, Cecil?" He asked, leaning closer. "Do you need bug repellant spray?"
Cecil’s first reaction was to frown because he hadn’t been bitten by anything then the realization hit and he slapped a hand over it.
"Maybe you should." Alois chimed in, a small smile on his face. "There are lots of bugs in the forest after all."
Cecil glared at him, the only bug he had issues with was an Alpha-sized one but he doubted that Perry had any bug-repellant spray that would work.
"I’m fine." He bit out, coloring up slightly when he remembered just how he got the ’bug bite’.
Perry started to retreat only to notice more bug bites and something more, the concern on his face quickly changed to horror. "Was it an animal then? There are teeth marks too!" He panicked.
Cecil immediately paled, unable to help glancing in Alois’ direction although that was probably not a great idea. "What do you mean there’s teeth marks?" He repeated slowly.
Everyone except for a naive Perry was suspiciously busy, every one of the suddenly getting very interested in the roasting fish.
While Perry was single-handedly making the situation worse. "Maybe you got bit in the river?" He asked in a serious tone, still hovering over Cecil with concern. "Do you think there are piranhas in the river?"
Cecil just sighed. "No, Perry... you know what, just give me the bug repellant spray." He finally gave in, wanting to fall through the ground or hopefully, trip, fall, roll all the way over to the lake, and then drown.
He snuck a glare at Alois who still hadn’t lost his smug smile, he was definitely going to get back at Alois for this.

Henri woke up before the others returned, and was immediately assaulted by his sweet scent. He supposed he had been on scent blockers for so long that he couldn’t remember a time he smelled like this.
It was a little embarrassing to not remember such a common detail about Omegas but it was simply something that he had never really had to deal with his whole life. His personal maids didn’t have such sweet scents and neither did his mother. But if that was truly the case then there would be no need for scent blockers.
He sat up and put on his shirt, maybe a dip in the lake would wash off some of the scent and he would stop feeling like an entire bottle of perfume was dunked over his head. It was still early afternoon though so he wouldn’t get that luxury until much later.
The campsite getting noisy made him stick his head out of his tent, his group members were finally returning.
It was already well past noon, much later than he thought. How long had they all actually stayed out? How were they not sunburnt?
"You wouldn’t believe how much fish we caught." Audie bounded over the moment Henri got out of his tent.
"Who’s we?" Valentin attacked him. "You spent the entire time playing."
"I was merely doing my job of setting the mood." He said unapologetically.
Louis sighed and drifted closer. "We didn’t wake you up, did we?"
"No, I was already awake." fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"The people who didn’t make any effort to catch fish will be the ones to gather more wood and build a makeshift grill," Valentin announced, looking straight at Audie.
"Fine, fine." Audie accepted, looking to the others to join him.
Errol stretched out his arms over his head, yawning softly. "I guess it’s only fair but please keep Cedric with you, Jann, we’ll be perfectly fine without him." He was quick to say, not wanting the potential hazard on his hands.
Seton remained quiet on the fringes of the group, he made no protests, surprisingly cooperative.
"I’ll come along too." Henri offered, attracting everyone’s attention. They weren’t obligated to give him any sort of special treatment. "It’s just picking up sticks, how hard can it be?" He added when they all shot him skeptical looks.
Their looks gravitated to Louis who straightened up nervously, wondering why his opinion was required for something like this.
Henri rolled his eyes and grabbed Audie’s hand. "Come on, let’s go."
Audie stared at Louis with wide horrified eyes, letting himself be pulled.
Errol followed along, Nael sticking to his side and after a few moments, Seton went after them.
Louis just sighed and got comfortable on a trunk, the overhead shade provided much-needed relief from the sun.
The others had done surprisingly well not mentioning Henri’s scent, Louis was almost certain that Audie would blow it right from the start but the impulsive blond knew when to use his few brain cells sometimes.
Henri was also right about wanting to do tasks with the rest of the group but they weren’t hesitant because he was an Omega, that had never mattered from the start. They were hesitant because he was ill-fit to perform manual tasks but no one was going to tell him that to his face.
"We might as well start preparing to cook lunch, roasted fish isn’t going to be enough." He decided, pushing to his feet again.

Henri let go of Audie after they left the open space of their campsite, unsure of what to do next. He looked expectantly to Errol, waiting for him and Nael to catch up.
"We don’t need to go so far out, there are lots of dried sticks around." He kindly explained, walking a little distance away to pick up a dried branch.
Henri brightened up and wandered off as well to find some as well.
"Remember, don’t go too far out, and don’t lose your way, we’ll meet back here in five minutes!" He called to Henri and Audie who were already quickly disappearing behind trees.
Henri found a suitable stick in no time, picking it up to show off to Audie only to find the Alpha brandishing five more sticks than he found.
"I see we’re just picking up whatever we find now." He grumbled bitterly, bending to pick up another stick.
