Chapter 188: Chapter 188

Henri felt like he was walking on clouds ever since he was woken up by Louis, he wasn’t surprised that Claude had left after he fell asleep. Although it was selfish of him, he wished he had stayed - after all, he couldn’t possibly get more selfish than he had already been.

He slowly undid his buttons, thinking that his shoulders felt the lightest they had ever been, it felt like he was finally fitting into his body. He glanced up at Louis who was frozenly offering him his shirt, thinking that the Alpha was acting a bit odd that morning. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Are you alright?" He asked in concern, taking off his current shirt to put on the fresh change offered to him.

Louis had to drag his wide panicked gaze up to Henri’s face, although, he was certain that he had matching red hickies all over him, he couldn’t wrap his head around how Henri could be so calm about letting someone else see them. All he had to do was think about how he had gotten some of the spots on his skin and he would burn a bright red.

He cleared his throat and turned to the side, crossing his arms to keep his composure. "O-Of course, I’m just hungry."

Henri made a cute sound of dismay, "Ah, I’m so sorry for wasting time..." He said in a rush, trying to button up his shirt faster and failing. "Louis, could you help me-"

Louis dropped to his hands and knees on the floor when Henri asked that; had he entered an alternate dimension without realizing it? Because it was impossible for Henri to be so expressive in his own world. Really, the Omega would rather stubbornly struggle than ask for help; now, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to fight Claude or thank the Alpha.

Henri went down immediately after Louis, "Louis? What’s wrong? Are you in pain?"

Louis held Henri’s wrist when the Omega placed a hand on his back, "I should be asking you that, are you alright?" He asked in a shaky voice, it was one earth-shattering event after another - Henri never willingly initiated physical contact, always quick to swat away anyone who tried to touch him.

Henri frowned, "I don’t understand... are you messing with me?"

Louis wished he was, he really wished he was... Though he couldn’t keep making such a big fuss over the changes in Henri’s attitude even if it was so tremendous. "Yeah, sorry." He said nervously, getting to his feet and helping his friend up. "Come closer let me help you with that."

Henri obeyed but his frown stayed, when Louis finished buttoning up his shirt, he started for the door only to stop and turn around. "I still don’t get it," He muttered, a serious expression on his face.

Louis glanced up, "Get what?"

"The punchline, what was the point of the joke you made?"

Louis bit back a miserable groan, really, he couldn’t deal with this side of Henri all by himself, especially not when he was trying to recover from the blow that seeing Henri so unguarded brought him.

He was still blunt and had a tendency to be sarcastic more often than not, but Louis would say that Henri was acting more like his age now.

"Let’s go pick up, Dio," He said without trying to mask the fact that he was changing the topic of their conversation.

"I’m going to ignore your terrible attempt to divert my attention because I’m hungry," Henri said, making for the door.

Yeah, deep down, Henri didn’t really change much.

The truth of the matter was revealed as the morning wore on, well, unlike Henri’s assassination attempt, the matter of his heat was kept under tight wrap. Henri merely returned to his dorm room with his basket of food, Louis and Dio in tow while Claude and Alexander were left to deal with the matter, the Alpha Prince having to drag the other out of bed.

Valentin was the first to show up at Henri’s dorm room, Louis slowly blinked when he caught sight of the dark red hickey on his neck, making no comment on it.

"Are you alright, Henri?" The nervous Alpha asked, hanging close to the door like he wanted to bolt.

Henri’s cheeks were full of food, and as unfussy as he now was, he didn’t speak with his mouth full. "Why does everyone keep asking me that, I’m fine." He grumbled, holding out an apple. "Hungry?"

Valentin looked to Louis for help, very confused, the other Alpha was frantically making a gesture for him to keep quiet. "Uh... um... yes, thank you." He padded in, taking the offered fruit.

"Good thing we have more than enough food," Henri said happily, going back to eating.

The next to show up was Audie, his roommate who had been dragged out by members of the college staff early that morning, ruining his plans of sleeping in till late. He had planned to crash into Vale’s dorm room to tell his friend what had happened only to realize that he had no idea where Valentin’s room was. The other Alpha had been adamant about keeping it a secret for some reason.

Without anywhere else to go - he knew better than to pay a visit to Errol and Nael early in the morning and he would rather jump off the third floor than go to see Nael - he went right to Henri’s dorm room. Just as he knocked on the door, it swung open to reveal the very person he wanted to see.

"Vale!" He beamed, trailing off when he saw the trio behind him who were all busy eating. "No fair, you’re all having a party without me?" He protested, brushing past his friend to walk in.

Valentin quickly closed the door and hiked his shirt’s collar higher, he had totally forgotten but seeing Audie had reminded him once again that he had the evidence of a crime on his neck. He had easily forgotten all about it when he woke up to find Alexander gone but he had been reminded when he saw Henri and Louis both with marks on their necks - Just what had happened the night before?

Well, he knew for a fact that it couldn’t have been Alexander who was responsible for Henri’s hickies because the psychopath was too busy leaving marks on his own neck.
