Chapter 117: Chapter 117

Louis had to change aprons to stop the buttermilk from getting to his clothes underneath. He took over the stirring from Dio, directing the other Alpha on how much honey to put.

Dio seemed to have already gotten over what had happened while Louis still found his gaze trailing down to Dio’s lips, the memory constantly replaying in his head.

He picked up the bowl to easily get at the contents, stirring with a ladle. "Pour it right in."

Dio followed his instructions, looking up at Louis after he was done. "Ah, you’ve got something right... here." He said casually, reaching out to swipe his thumb over Louis’ lower lip, purposefully smearing honey on him.

Louis blinked, "Wait what..." He started to protest, only to get interrupted by Dio licking his face again. This time, close enough to his lips to make his heart slow down.

He somehow managed to hold onto the bowl of raspberry mix and the ladle, his deep blue eyes blown wide. He should scold Dio this time, the first time could be written off as a fluke but the second time was very deliberate.

"Could you get the lemon juice?" He finally found his voice, dropping his gaze down to the milky-red mix in his hands.

"Sure," Dio agreed, still acting no different.

Louis gingerly placed the bowl back on the counter, not trusting his fingers to not turn into jelly and lose his grip on the metal bowl. Being the one to stir the mix still hadn’t kept him safe, maybe putting some distance in between them would help.

He quickly pattered away from the counter to get the ice pop molds, taking his time to get them to give himself some time to recover. When he was sure that his face was no longer a similar shade to the raspberry ice pop mix, he made his way back to the counter.

"Washing dishes is on you," He said to Dio, needing the Alpha a few feet away for his sanity. "I’ll ladle the mix into containers so they can be refrigerated."

Dio didn’t protest this decision, happy to help out. When he was over at the sink busy cleaning up, Louis could finally take a deep breath. The breath did nothing to ease the anticipation tingling under his skin so he took a couple more.

Dio kept acting like everything was the same as it always was, he could do the same. He got busy filling up the molds with the mix, it would have to stay in the freezer for a little while before he put in the wooden sticks.

They would wait at the Cooking club till then, and by the time it was ready for the wooden sticks to be put in, the muffins would also be ready. The ice pops would still have to be put to sit in the freezer for a couple more hours.

He just had to survive half an hour’s more time with Dio alone in the club room, he could do that, right?

"All done," Dio walked up to him, just as he was putting the last of the mix into the final ice pop mold.

Louis could smile easily now, there was nothing for Dio to smear or clean off him this time. He proudly showed off his work, "What do you think?"

Dio glanced from the filled molds to Louis’ and back again, an answering smile on his face like he could guess what the other was thinking. "You want to really know what I think?"

Louis’ smile faltered, feeling the undescribable urge to step backward, "Yes?" He said like a question, not quite sure anymore.

He lost the rest of his smile when Dio moved closer, surely, he didn’t need to get that much of a closer look to state his opinion. "The ah... the ice pops are down here." He blurted out reflexively when Dio had his eyes fixed on him instead of the molds. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Humor danced in Dio’s mismatched eyes which was quickly wiped away when Louis looked up at him with glistening deep blue eyes. Dio couldn’t remember the last time he had been to the ocean but was positive that the look in Louis’ eyes reminded him of how the ocean looked when the sunlight hit it just right.

It had a dreamy quality that pulled you right in and promptly drowned you.

Dio took a couple more steps to trap Louis against the counter, almost certain that the Alpha would try to make a bolt for it. "I think that the ice pops are not nearly as perfect as you."

Louis was frozen in place when Dio tipped up his jaw and leaned forward, his brain doing flips but all he could think of was how that wasn’t the question he asked.

His eyes slipped close when Dio’s lips made contact and for some ridiculous reason, he found himself trying to remember if he had kissed anyone else. It should be such an easy thing to remember and yet, he found that he couldn’t formulate a thought that didn’t involve Dio.

Kissing his best friend felt right, pretending it didn’t was a bald-faced lie to himself. So he reached up and sank his fingers into Dio’s hair like he always wanted to do and kiss him back.

The sound of the ladle falling to the ground startled them both, Louis seeming to wake up from a haze. He slipped out of Dio’s hold during the distraction the falling ladle caused, he was in a panic and it wasn’t because of the ladle.

’Had he really kissed Dio? Right after Dio kissed him?’

"Louis?" Dio called to him, questions in his eyes.

Louis should walk back into Dio’s arms and kiss him again but he was a little too happy, he needed to run around for a little bit to get his gears spinning in the right direction again. So without saying anything further, he turned around and dashed out of the club room.

Dio watched him in disbelief, wasting a few precious seconds doing nothing but staring at the open door before taking off after Louis. He at least remembered to close the door before running down the hallway.

He thought he could easily catch up with Louis but no! The Alpha was fast when he wanted to be, it didn’t help that he didn’t turn around not even once.

Passerbys seeing them chase each other around probably had so many questions that they couldn’t ask.

He finally caught up with Louis just as he slipped into Henri’s room, he could just walk up to the door and he would find Louis but he hesitated. He was almost certain that Louis had kissed him in return but that had been in the heat of the moment, he could have been mistaken.

’Did Louis like the Omega prince after all, and he was merely being nice to Dio?’

He had hesitated too long, he couldn’t go through with it anymore. He turned away from the door and returned to the Cooking club, the ice pops still needed to go in the freezer.

He took off his apron when he got back to the Cooking club, realizing that they had both been dashing through college grounds possibly covered in flour and still wearing aprons. What a comical sight they must have painted.

He took off the hairband keeping his hair out of his face and pushed a hand through his inky black locks in frustration, he should have kept his hands to himself after all. What if he had ruined their friendship with the stunt he pulled?

He leaned against the counter with a weary sigh, there was only one thing to do, he wasn’t letting Louis go.

Henri had an unimpressed expression on his as he watched Louis pace his room so fast, he was barely holding himself back from running. "I don’t appreciate you treating me like some love counselor." He deadpanned.

Louis shot him a plaintive look, "But you’re the only one I can talk to."

"No, I’m pretty sure Errol is a much better choice," Henri argued, he was seated at the edge of his bed, his arms and ankles crossed.

"Henri!" Louis whined.

"Fine, he kissed you, and you kissed him back, where’s the problem? Because I can’t find it." He said in his usual blunt manner.

Louis halted his pacing, his pallor feverish. "But that’s exactly the problem."

Henri frowned, "You didn’t want him to kiss you?"

"No, no, whyyy, the problem is why did he kiss me?" He said enthusiastically, starting to pace again.

Henri didn’t appreciate him pacing around like a caged animal on a day when he was supposed to be enjoying his peace and quiet. "Why did you kiss him?" He countered calmly.

This made Louis slow down, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Because he kissed me first?" He muttered, more to himself than Henri.

Henri’s response was a perfectly aimed pillow to his head, "If you’re going to bother me then don’t lie to me."

Louis pouted, catching the falling pillow. "Fine, because I wanted to."

"Wonderful, you’ve got your answer, now leave my dorm room."
