Chapter 101: Chapter 101
Errol and Nael had an equally tense dinner that seemed to only affect the senior. Nael looked just fine, taking his job of piling food on Errol’s plate very seriously.
Errol on the other hand was strung up as tight as a bow, eating to distract himself. They had decided to eat in the dining hall tonight; as Errol got more comfortable eating in public, they did it more often, occasionally joining the others to eat.
They had sat at a separate table this time because Errol expected to have a serious conversation with Nael but they were already almost done with dinner and they were yet to have said conversation.
Errol found himself thinking hard about the topic of their discussion, mentally creating a list, and ticking checkboxes.
Sure they had moved their beds together and slept together but most people did that, right? It was simply the smart thing to do if you wanted more space.
Holding hands wasn’t a crime either, not even while they were both working in the privacy of their dorm room. Most people adapted to using a single hand to study because their other hands were occupied with holding their roommates, right?
’Oh, who was he kidding? No one did that, hell! They had almost kissed while they were on the field trip’. Seton had never even let them share a bed, holding hands was out of the question.
Why did it even bother Errol so much? Nael looked unbothered by the whole fiasco... He knew very well why it bothered him so.
It was because he wasn’t sure how to take it, it was easy to keep hiding behind the chance of it being a joke but that was to spare him the pain he would feel if he dared take it seriously only to have Nael say he was merely teasing.
Nael watched steam literally pour out of Errol’s ears as he ate, a concerned expression on his face. He would give a lot to know what was going on in his head, was he troubled about the thought of them being in a relationship?
The sole reason that Nael hadn’t brought up the topic while they were in the dining hall was because he couldn’t trust himself to keep his hands off Errol. He doubted that the other occupants of the dining hall would appreciate them doing that right in public.
By the time they headed back to their shared dorm room, both Alphas were equally tense, Nael just did a better job of hiding it. He still took Errol’s hand when they left the dining hall, some of the pressure in his chest easing when Errol didn’t turn down the gesture.
Errol held tightly to Nael’s hand, the simple act keeping him grounded. He was far too nervous over something that had started off as a lighthearted joke. How did Nael worm his way deep into his heart and life in a matter of a few months?
Errol hadn’t even been paying attention, it had happened so naturally that it didn’t even feel like there was something odd about how close they quickly got. It was probably because Errol didn’t expect anyone to save him from Seton so when it happened he didn’t know what to do and just let Nael take the lead.
Nael opened the door to the door room and pulled Errol in as well before turning around to close the door. He used their joined hands to pull Errol close, the other Alpha not expecting this which made him fall against him.
"Nael, what are you..." Errol started to ask, his palms going up against Nael’s shoulders.
"Can I kiss you?" Nael cut him off, hazel gold eyes on fire.
Errol choked on the rest of his sentence, pale blue eyes blown wide. ’Nael was asking? Although he could just take what he wanted?’
Heat bloomed on his face when he took in their current position, Nael still kept his hold on his wrist, his other hand holding his waist.
Nael stepped backward, letting go of his wrist. "It’s fine if you refuse, I shouldn’t have been so forward..."
Errol stopped him from taking another step back, taking a step forward of his own. "I wasn’t going to..." He trailed off, his bravado fading away.
That was enough of an incentive for Nael, he gently tipped up Errol’s jaw, taking it slow like he didn’t want to startle him.
Errol stood on his tiptoes and met him halfway, surprising them both. freēwebnovel.com
Nael was the one to pull back. "So what do you think? Are we in a relationship?" He asked with a small amused smile.
"Y-You want that?" Errol fixed hopeful eyes on him. "Even though we’re both Alphas?"
"I do." Nael enunciated, holding his gaze. "And I’m certain that it’s more common than you think." He tagged on. "Want to change into something more comfortable?"
Errol was a little slow with his reaction to Nael’s words but that was because there was so much going on in his head that he had a hard time following the conversation.
Nael let him take as much time as he needed, a peaceful expression on his face as he held Errol. He could remain in that position for eternity but they had spent the whole day on their feet and they had classes tomorrow, he wanted Errol to get some rest.
Errol on the other hand was processing Nael’s words. ’So he wasn’t an anomaly then?’ Of course, it would add up that Seton would tell a bald-faced lie to keep him docile. Frankly, it wasn’t that surprising, he had done far worse things.
"Let’s do that." He agreed to Nael’s suggestion, not making a move to follow through.
Nael humored him and instead of pulling away, shuffled over with Errol in his arms in the direction of his wardrobe.
Errol stood this for a while before laughing at their silliness. He still kept up with the shuffling, laughing so hard that they barely made any progress.
He had expected the cold feeling of helplessness to try to choke him when he inadvertently accepted to be in a relationship with Nael but all he got was warmth and laughter, it was a nice change.
