Chapter 499: E

After they reached inside the mansion, they were greeted by a butler who responsible for attending to the mansion. The person stepped up and opened the door for them. When Leo got down with the kids, he smiled and bowed his head before he said, "Mister Cail is waiting for you in the living room." freēwebnovel.com

Leo nodded and followed the man while Kyle took out the stroller from the trunk of the car. He pushed them inside slowly, while looking around the place. This was basic curiosity when you are buying a new product. The decorations were simple, but they looked good, and after crossing the foyer, they walked inside the living room and found a middle aged man sitting on a couch.

He smiled and stood up as he said, "Welcome, Lord Cardinal."

Leo nodded and stepped up to shake hands with him. Kyle was standing beside the twins, alert. The two men sat down and Cail said, "Mister Cardinal, I have only one request, the staff of this house has been here for the past decade and they have never complained to me. I hope that you retain them."

Leo replied, "I don’t mind retaining them but I would like to vet them properly. I hope you understand that."

Cail nodded with a calm face, and then he asked, "Would you like to have a meal first or shall we sign the agreement first."

Leo checked his watch and said, "We can sign the agreement then have the staff take care of the legal proceedings, before the government offices close."

Cail nodded and turned to the side before a few people came over holding files. After a quick read, Leo signed the document and after that the people retreated, they needed to get these documents attested by the government registrar.

The men got involved in conversation related to their businesses, and Cail also received the notification for the money transfer.

...

Trevor Hymn left the room, and Dawn’s sudden change in personality made the rest of the students fall silent. They were using a messaging app to talk to each other about what had happened. Dawn was watching all this, and he was amused.

A few minutes later, Saffron entered the class with a surprised expression. Everyone saw her, but they did not speak. Saffron was kind, but the people did not interact much with her. She still had a few who would drop by to have small talk, and if it were about Dawn, they would inform her quickly.

Saffron had placed a reward system. She would reward anyone who gave her any Dawn-related news in her absence. She would give them a few meals on the card. Right now, when she received the word that Trevor wanted to beat Dawn, the latter threw him over as if it was an easy task.

She walked up to Dawn and gazed at him from head to toe. The young man asked, "What is it?"

Saffron asked, "Would you tell me what is going on? How did you beat up Trevor?"

Dawn smiled and said, "I did not beat him. He tripped and fell. You can ask others, and they see it all."

Dawn gazed at the students, and they all nodded again like chicks. Saffron was surprised at how the students were acting. Never has anyone dared to stand against Trevor. She was perplexed and sat down in her seat. Soon, the class was in session, and all the seats were filled.

The last person to enter the room was a middle-aged man. He was the teacher, Hank Greens. He wore a subtle brown suit with a few traces of time on his face. His sideburns were turning gray. This person was in charge of the class, and he taught everyone mathematics. He disliked those who slacked in school, and Dawn was one of those who, according to him, slacked.

Hank looked at Dawn and found the young man gazing back at him. This was surprising because Dawn would usually keep his gaze down. He said in a deep voice, "We will now begin the roll call."

Then Hank called for every student individually, and all of them responded. When he was about to close the register, Dawn raised his hand and said, "Excuse me, Sir. You did not call out my name."

Everyone was surprised to see that Dawn caught it. Hank used this method to test the student’s attentiveness. Usually, when Dawn was skipped, he would not catch it and would be punished. This time, he caught it, and Hank said, "Good that you noticed, Mr. Celestus."

Hank made a mark before Dawn’s name and closed the register. Then, he told everyone to bring out their textbooks and notebooks before he began showing them how to solve the sums.

Dawn followed the instructions and, without any trouble, followed the lead. In the past, he lacked confidence and was severely depressed, so even when he knew how to solve the problems, he would make a blunder.

Hank wrote a question on the board and asked, "Who can solve it?"

A few people raised their hands, and Saffron was among them. What surprised her was that Dawn raised his hand, too. Hank was surprised and asked, "Mr. Celestus, do you know the punishment for disturbing the class?"

Surprised, Dawn asked, "Sir, how did I disturb the class?"

Trevor sat in the front row and smirked when he saw this. He wanted to see what Hank would do to Dawn after this. Many other people also wanted to see how this situation would unfold.

Hank replied, "You raised your hand, but do you know the answer to this question? If not, then are you not disturbing the class?"

Hank was a strict teacher, but he was not a bad person. He had no personal bias against Dawn but disliked her laid-back attitude. When he thought this child had improved after catching up on his test, Dawn raised her hand and tried to create trouble, which was even more unacceptable.

Dawn said, "But, Sir. I know how to solve it."

Trevor laughed and said, "Dawn, what did you say? Do you know the answer to this question? Hahahaha that lightning strike has awakened your sense of humor."

Dawn looked over with a smile and replied, "Class Monitor, your IQ seemed to have dropped from the fall earlier. Even if I do not know the answer, I still deserve a chance to try, and if I am wrong, Teacher Hank will correct me. We only learn from our mistakes."

Trevor wanted to rebuke him when Hank said, "It is good that you have such an attitude. It is a good attitude, may be you will enter a good college if not the top after the college entrance exam. Now, come on the podium and solve the question."

Dawn nodded and stood up. He stood before the podium and picked up a piece of chalk before the class fell silent, and scratching and tapping sounds echoed inside. Hank was surprised to see that Dawn could solve such a complex problem.

Trevor was surprised as he opened his eyes wide. He said, "Impossible."

Saffron remarked, "Since you could not do it, that does not mean others could not. If any of you said anything bad from now you, I will show you what a real fat bitch can do."

Dawn finished writing on the board, and then he stepped back. Hank looked at the board and then nodded. He said, "Good, this is correct. I don’t understand one thing, though. How can you solve this question when you could not do even the most basic ones in the past?"

The young man shrugged and said, "I guess I regained my confidence after the recent events."

Hank nodded and said, "Keep up the good work."

He then said that people should never give up and that all the bad students should look at Dawn and learn from him. While the teacher was impressed, the students wondered if Dawn was possessed by someone else. Soon, the bell rang, and another teacher came over to take charge.

Dawn was gazing at this person and could not help but find her beautiful. The newcomer was a lady, and she wore a blue one-piece with black heels. She had her hair tied up in a bun and had a very beautiful smile on her face. However, her eyes had dark circles under them. Dawn saw two dimples on her face and found her smile very contagious.

Saffron asked with a whisper, "Are you checking out a teacher? God damn, Dawn you cheeky bastard."

Dawn had a smile on his face and shoo his head without replying. Asta taught them chemistry, and she began her lecture. Dawn listened to her carefully and even raised his hand to answer the sudden questions she would ask. Suddenly, he realized Asta’s voice was getting softer and softer as she spoke.

He noticed that her face was getting paler, too. He frowned and thought, ’If only I had cultivated spirit sight. I could have checked the spiritual condition of the people around me. I cannot confirm if this teacher suffers from any spiritual condition.’

He kept listening to the class as he considered his future path. Asta looked at him many times, and she frowned, thinking Dawn was daydreaming. She said, "Mr. Celestus, do you have any questions or suggestions to improve this topic?"
