Chapter 164: These Are The Weapons?

Hajin stood completely still, staring at the system screen hovering in front of him, completely shocked by the sudden notification.

Up until now, everything related to the Goddess of Reincarnation had been strictly tied to his own soul and his unique summons. The idea that there were physical items sitting inside the King’s vault that were directly linked to her felt completely absurd.

’How is that even possible?’ He thought, his brow furrowing.

He had assumed the Goddess’s influence was entirely sealed away behind the Veil. If there were actual weapons or artifacts carrying her power in the physical world, it meant someone else in the past must have had a connection to her, or pieces of her original realm had somehow bled into Elurus.

He looked around the massive vault, scanning the endless racks of glowing swords, heavy armor sets, and strange magical trinkets. There were thousands of items scattered across the shelves.

’System, where are they?’ he asked mentally, keeping his hands in his pockets.

A second notification smoothly slid into his vision.

[Notice: Activate ’Divine Eyes’ to perceive the Goddess’s divine signature.]

He blinked in surprise. He hadn’t used that specific skill very often outside of combat since it usually drained his mana and gave him a massive headache if he kept it active for too long. But right now, he didn’t really have a choice.

’Fine,’ he thought, taking a slow breath.

He channeled his mana up toward his face, letting it pool around his eyes. A sharp, burning sensation flared behind his pupils for a split second before the entire vault shifted in color.

The normal ambient glow of the magical crystals faded into a dull gray, while the raw mana signatures of the weapons started glowing in harsh, vibrant colors. Most of the items radiated a standard blue or red aura, indicating normal elemental enchantments.

He slowly turned his head, scanning the back corners of the massive room and then he saw it.

Way in the back, tucked behind a pile of rusted shields, a faint pulse of pure golden light caught his attention. It wasn’t a harsh, aggressive glow like the other weapons. It was a soft, rhythmic hum of energy that felt exactly like the presence he had felt when he was pulled into the fragment’s core.

He didn’t hesitate, immediately walking past the racks of high-grade swords and ignoring the piles of rare defensive gear. The King stood a few paces away, watching him with a look of visible confusion, but the old man didn’t say a word as Hajin bypassed the most valuable treasures in the kingdom.

He navigated through the dusty aisles, his eyes locked onto the golden signature.

As he got closer, the golden aura grew slightly brighter. He pushed aside a cracked shield and looked down at the wooden shelf hidden against the wall.

Sitting quietly on the dusty wood were three items. They weren’t forged from magical metals, and they didn’t have any glowing runes etched into them. If anything, they looked like garbage that someone had tossed into the back of the vault and forgotten about.

They were strange, to say the least.

The first was a rusted, completely mundane-looking iron crowbar. The second was a tarnished silver pocket watch with a cracked glass face. The third was a simple black leather fingerless glove.

He stood there in complete silence, staring down at the three items. He even rubbed his eyes once just to make sure his Divine Eyes weren’t glitching out on him, but the soft golden aura was definitely pulsing directly from the junk on the shelf.

’Are you serious?’ He thought, feeling a sudden headache forming behind his temples. ’A crowbar? The Goddess of Reincarnation left behind a rusty crowbar?’

He had honestly expected some kind of legendary staff or a divine crown, considering he was following the literal energy of a deity. The fact that her remaining physical connection to this world consisted of random, mundane garbage was completely baffling. He was seriously starting to question the Goddess’s taste.

’Well, whatever,’ he thought, letting out a heavy sigh. ’The King told me I could pick three items.’

He reached out, grabbing the iron crowbar. The moment his fingers wrapped around the rusted metal, the golden aura flared up brightly, sending a sharp jolt of energy straight up his arm.

A new system notification instantly popped into his vision.

[Artifact: ’The Breaker’s Lever’ acquired.]

[Grade: Divine (Sealed)]

[Description: A physical manifestation of the concept of ’forced entry’. It can pry open physical locks, magical barriers, and spatial tears. Currently heavily sealed.]

He blinked, staring at the rusty piece of metal in his hand. It looked like a piece of mundane junk he would use to pry open a wooden crate, but the system classified it as a Divine-grade artifact that could literally pry open space.

He quickly reached down, grabbing the tarnished pocket watch.

[Artifact: ’The Stolen Moment’ acquired.]

[Grade: Divine (Sealed)]

[Description: An anchor to a discarded timeline. Allows the user to rewind their personal state by exactly three seconds. Cooldown: 24 Hours. Currently heavily sealed.]

He stood there in shock. Rewinding his personal state meant he could instantly undo a fatal wound or replenish his mana if he timed it perfectly.

Without hesitating, he snatched the black leather fingerless glove, slipping it onto his left hand. It fit perfectly, tightening automatically around his knuckles.

[Artifact: ’The Collector’s Grasp’ acquired.]

[Grade: Divine (Sealed)]

[Description: A glove that bypasses physical and magical defenses to directly interact with an entity’s core or soul. Currently heavily sealed.]

He stared at his gloved hand, completely speechless. All three items looked like absolute garbage, but their actual abilities were incredibly broken.

’Well, they aren’t so bad I guess,’ he thought, letting out a satisfied breath.

He glanced back up at the semi-transparent chat window hovering in his vision. The viewers had completely lost their minds, the chat scrolling by so fast it was almost impossible to read.

[ CringeSlayer91:] bro what???

[ ShadowMage44:] THOSE ITEMS ARE BROKEN LMAO

[ DarkBlade:] literally divine grade garbage wtf

[ LurkerNoMore:] that pocket watch is basically immortality???

He smirked slightly, swiping the window away before turning back around to face the King. The old man was still standing near the entrance, staring at him with a heavily raised eyebrow. The King had watched him bypass shelves full of legendary artifacts just to pick up a rusted crowbar, a broken watch, and a single glove. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"I have made my choice, Your Majesty," he said, holding the items up.

The King stared at the rusted crowbar for a long moment, clearly struggling to comprehend the decision.

"I see," the King finally said, giving a slow, diplomatic nod. "You certainly have... unique tastes, Lord Hajin. If you are satisfied with those, then we are finished here."
