Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Trap
BANG!
The Thunder Sword was blocked by a shield.
Immediately after, a Diamond Sand Spike shot toward Magnus York’s Thunder Protection Shield.
With a loud CRACK, the protection shield was completely shattered.
And Magnus York was pinned to the ground by a Stone Spike.
"You should be asking yourself that question. You clearly had the power to protect them, didn’t you?"
Nina Jacobs said coldly, looking at Magnus York.
If Magnus had used her full strength, she could have used that shield to protect everyone.
But she just had to conserve her strength.
Blood bloomed outwards as Magnus York gave a weak laugh.
"What’s the use of saying all this now? What’s the difference between you and me?"
"Of course there’s a difference."
Nina Jacobs said, "You’re doing this for the organization behind you, but I’m only doing this for myself."
"What exactly do you know?"
Magnus York frowned. ’Why do I get the feeling that Summer Warner knows everything?’
But in the next second, the Stone Spike pierced straight through her heart.
After Magnus York had taken her last breath, Nina Jacobs stepped forward and took a few things from her body.
A Compass, a bag of Mystic Ice Cores, some Talisman Paper, and a Badge.
That Badge was slightly different from the one she had seen before.
The back of the Badge didn’t have the letters "WB" on it either.
Nina Jacobs stored these items in her inventory.
She also collected all the detectors that had fallen on the ground.
Her gaze fell upon the Metal Box on the ground. freewebnoveℓ.com
Inside the Metal Box should be that enormous Mystic Ice Core.
Nina Jacobs originally planned to put the Metal Box directly into her inventory, but found that the thing wouldn’t budge an inch.
’Has it already been buried deep underground?’
She tried to activate her Earth Element Superpower.
This Gold Element Superpower construct reached at least several meters underground. She had to admit, Alistair White’s methods were impressive.
In the end, Nina Jacobs took the entire block of earth along with the box and stored it in her inventory.
Just a moment ago, her 7-Day Mission 5 had also been completed.
7-Day Mission 6 had also started and was already more than halfway done.
Nina Jacobs walked to the mouth of the cavern, surrounded herself with a layer of Diamond Sand for protection, and climbed down.
Under the influence of her Earth Element Superpower, the originally jagged and sharp rocks transformed into a set of stairs.
With a small mouse leading the way, Nina’s descent was quite smooth.
Soon, she saw the beam of light she had noticed earlier.
The reason she had come here was because when the mouse was scouting earlier, it had not only seen a large number of Mutated Weasels, but also a ground littered with Mystic Ice Cores.
Nina Jacobs jumped down from the last step.
Seeing the Mystic Ice Cores scattered on the ground, she collected them all with a wave of her hand.
’These little things must have absorbed quite a bit.’
Following a sound from a corner, Nina Jacobs also discovered a nest of newly born Mutated Weasels.
The area was filled with skeletons and some fresh human corpses.
The bodies were gnawed beyond recognition, but she could still tell that they were the people who had just died up above.
BOOM!
Amidst the screams of the young Mutated Weasels, Nina Jacobs burned the entire place to the ground.
[7-Day Mission 6 detected as complete. 7-Day Mission 7 has been automatically activated:
Mission Content: Hunt 110 mutated/zombie animals.
Mission Reward: 80,000 System Experience Points.]
Nina Jacobs had asked the system before; 7-Day Mission 7 was the final mission.
The number of young Mutated Weasels she had just burned was not small.
It had given her 34 kills toward Mission 7’s completion.
Beneath the charred bodies of the young weasels, more Mystic Ice Cores appeared.
Nina Jacobs believed this must be the place Nathan Moreau had mentioned, where a large number of meteorites had fallen.
Because there was a large opening in the ceiling above, they had fallen down here.
Of course, it was also possible that the Mutated Weasels had collected them from the surrounding area.
She suspected there were many more nearby.
Taking out the detector she had picked up earlier, Nina Jacobs continued to search the area.
Until she saw the bodies of several Mutated Weasels by the wall.
Nina Jacobs suddenly realized something was wrong.
’There’s someone else here!’
SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
Dozens of Gold Spikes flew at her from all directions. With no time to counterattack, Nina Jacobs quickly formed a Diamond Sand Cover to defend herself!
The Diamond Sand Cover did indeed block the Gold Spikes.
However, to Nina’s surprise, the Gold Spikes turned into steel upon hitting the ground. Thick steel bars erupted from below, rapidly enclosing both her and her Diamond Sand Cover!
"A Three-Element Superpower User. Who would have thought?"
Alistair White emerged from the darkness.
He was still wearing the Golden Silk Jade Armor that Veronica Ziegler had given him.
"You’re still not dead."
Nina Jacobs looked at Alistair White. He was covered in wounds of various sizes, but none of them were fatal.
"I’ve always been hard to kill. I’m guessing you’ve already killed Magnus York, right?
Hahahaha, she really deserved it."
Alistair White laughed until tears streamed down his face.
"I warned her long ago that you were more than you seemed."
"But I never expected you to be *this* formidable. To even have a Space Element Superpower."
Alistair White seemed very excited.
"Do you have any idea? If I take you back to Dr. Gray, how crazy do you think he’ll get?"
’Dr. Gray?’
Nina Jacobs had never heard the name before, but she guessed he must be someone from within The Aegis Conclave.
"And you think you can take me?" Nina asked.
Alistair White just smiled. "Dr. Gray’s research doesn’t distinguish between the living and the dead."
The light in the cave suddenly dimmed. Then, a huge block of metal fell from the sky, covering the cage in front of him with a loud BANG.
Alistair White said smugly,
"I started preparing this trap the moment I realized someone was coming down from above.
I have to admit, you’re very powerful. I’d have no chance against you in a straight fight. But now that you’ve fallen into my trap, don’t even think about escaping!"
Inside the airtight Metal Shield, Nina Jacobs tried to use her Earth Element Superpower to pry it open from below.
But she quickly discovered that, just like the Metal Box that had anchored the Mystic Ice Core above, the base of this Metal Shield extended deep underground.
’This guy even sealed off the ground beneath me!’
BANG!
Nina Jacobs tried to ram the Metal Shield with her Diamond Sand again, but to little effect.
"Stop struggling. My Gold Element Superpower is different from the rest. You can’t break it unless you’re a higher-level Gold Element Superpower User. Even being an Intermediate with a Fire and Earth Dual System won’t be enough."
Alistair White had absorbed a Mystic Ice Core before, and the effect was significant. The strength of the metal he could now create was unsurpassed.
Although Summer Warner had an Earth Element Superpower, he had sealed the ground with his Metal Shield, making it impossible for her to find a way out.
Sure enough, after he finished speaking, the banging from inside the Metal Shield stopped.
"Smart of you. The more you struggle, the faster the oxygen inside will run out."
Alistair White said unhurriedly.
No one would ever find this underground cave. He’d just see how long Summer Warner could last.
He even sat down on the ground to wait with peace of mind.
"Have you thought of your last words?"
Alistair White asked with a cheerful laugh.
’So what if she’s an Intermediate Superpower User? She’s still going to die by my hand.’
In the next second, however, he sensed something was wrong.
The massive Metal Shield before him was shaking. Then, it began to rise into the air, clearly being manipulated by a Gold Element Superpower.
"I should be asking you that question.
Have you thought of *your* last words?"
Beneath the levitating Metal Shield, a calm figure was revealed. The steel bars were being pried open, one by one, by a Gold Element Superpower.
Controlling the Gold Element Superpower, Nina Jacobs stared at Alistair White with a mocking gaze.
Just a moment ago, she had used the "Fourth Superpower Card" she had been saving.
