Chapter 40: Mission Pass, Devil Prince
"A Tier-10 artifact. Quite powerful." Jiran looked at the mask, and then at Aidan, his eyes flickering. "And you are at Tier-10 as well. Your stats are past the early stage. Impressive."
Aidan shrugged. "My master is quite resourceful."
Jiran blinked.
"You...." He narrowed his eyes. "This is still not your true appearance."
Aidan was surprised.
Indeed, he was using a sigil that Arthur had engraved in his Life Nexus. A sigil that could activate Arthur’s skill, which could camouflage him as well as change his appearance.
"Yep. And you can’t dispel this one." Aidan grinned. "Now, how about we go for an interview?"
"Interview?"
"Yep. Make some tasty food for me. I’ll see how good it is before deciding if I want to hire you."
Jiran was speechless.
"Fine."
Giving the mask back, Jiran turned around. "Follow me."
’If he is not lying, then I would land in a fortune mine. If he is lying, then he is just that good. Let’s leave it at that,’ Jiran thought with a smile.
And so, Jiran led Aidan to his personal kitchen in his courtyard and started cooking.
Aidan took out several tons of Tier-10 meat.
"Cook all of this, please."
"..." Jiran.
...
An hour passed.
The news had spread to other people as well.
Then the news spread out of Blazeworth Guild and reached the other top guilds because the top guilds made sure to eavesdrop on each other to a certain extent.
And since this information was not blocked by Blazeworth Guild, they found out about it.
At the 1st-ranked guild—Divine Nexus.
"Pupil of the hidden Divine-rank powerhouse is at Blazeworth Guild?" Guild Leader Kaelen’s eyes glinted. "Is this true, or is it bullshit that Blazeworth decided to spread?"
"We can’t confirm the accuracy of this news."
"Why did they approach Blazeworth Guild first?"
"According to what we know so far, the pupil went there to meet Jiran."
Suddenly, another person entered the room, bringing fresh news.
"Blazeworth Guild just released the information to all guilds and the Hunter Association. The pupil’s name is Garen, and he is the liaison between the Divine-rank master and our planet. It’s also confirmed that this Divine-rank master is not from our planet, as we speculated. Garen said he begged his master to save the planet and received a few conditions for that. One is that he will act as the liaison, and the other is providing tasty food."
Everyone in the room became speechless by the end. freewёbnoνel.com
"Tasty food?" Kaelen laughed. "So that’s why he went to Jiran."
"Oh, and the pupil is a nineteen-year-old boy, but he is already at Tier-10. We don’t know about his talents, though."
"If he is the pupil of a Divine-rank powerhouse, then his talent can’t be lower than SSS-rank, I suppose."
"Should we go meet him?"
Kaelen mulled over that question and remembered the absurd spectacle, an attack that could lay waste to the entire planet. "Let’s refrain from a forceful meeting. The Cloud Swirl Galactic Alliance’s people will be here tomorrow morning for the integration of Earth into the alliance. If this Garen is representing the Divine-rank master, then he will have to appear at the meeting and reveal the stance and intentions of his master."
...
The other top guilds also came to the same decision.
Nobody wanted to irk the Divine-rank powerhouse, the sole umbrella protecting them from the alliance’s brutal rules.
Back in the courtyard, Aidan was eating with gusto while Jiran cooked non-stop.
"What the hell is your stomach, boy?!" Jiran ground his teeth in frustration even as he cooked.
Aidan had already devoured seven tons of meat.
"How can you eat that much? Even I can’t eat that much." Jiran muttered as he glanced at Aidan and the stacks of empty plates.
Creating more plates using Earth and Fire control, Jiran served another batch of food.
"BURP! Yeah, this might be the last batch. I’ll need the same amount for my Master. You passed, Mister Jiran." Aidan grinned. "Your food is amazing."
"Tsk." Jiran clicked his tongue in mild annoyance.
He now really hoped that he wasn’t being scammed.
An hour passed, and Aidan had a solid stock of 10 tons of cooked food in his inventory.
His mood was unbelievably good.
"I had an amazing time. Thank you." Aidan smiled. "Now, I’ll deliver the rest of the food to my master. If it makes him happy, you can expect a gift from him."
Aidan decided to leave with a bang, giving some credibility to this scheme he was playing.
"Now then, we shall meet later when the time comes."
’It’s time, Tom. Make sure nobody can trace our location.’
’Humph, who do you think I am, Master? I am the Threadseer!’

Glowing golden and silver threads appeared around Aidan, swirling around him until he was completely covered.
Then, he vanished.
This was Tom’s technique derived from his two talents—Traceless Transport.
Aidan disappeared as the threads turned into sparks and vanished.
Jiran looked at the spot where Aidan previously was.
"Gone without a trace. Not even a trace that he was here just now." Jiran’s eyes glinted. ’My artifact also can’t detect it, which means whoever transported him was at least Legendary-rank.’
But there was a high chance that it was the Divine-rank powerhouse, according to Jiran.
...
’A pupil of that Divine-rank powerhouse?’
A pair of eyes somewhere in the darkness of this planet was looking over a misty screen.
’Now then, what is the truth?’
Aidan’s emergency act of venting his anger and saving the world had attracted the attention of a hidden figure.
Not just any hidden figure.
But a Transcendent Player.
Someone who lived and grew up in the darkness of this world.
Surviving the sickest minds in the gutter and becoming a devil, he rose above others and became strong.
But he stayed in the shadows, behind the facade of someone unknown, where he found comfort and safety, while using his pawns to partake in the world’s games, increasing his area of influence and power secretly.
Everyone had heard of him, but no one had seen him.
Known as the Devil Prince, he was none other than the mysterious leader of an underground organization—Soulflare Society.
The organization that had massacred Hunters for treasures and invaded ongoing Terrorized Dimensions and Terror Tears to wreak havoc.
The GHA had spent much of its resources trying to find the leader of this organization, but to no avail.
And now, this Devil Prince had set his eyes on the mystery even he was unaware of.
A Divine-rank powerhouse or a Transcendent Player with their tricks? As a Transcendent Player, he knew what perks they got.
He could win against the powerhouses that the alliance sent if he wished so, because he was a peak Legendary-rank, thanks to participating in the Raids.
But it was in his own benefit if the alliance took control of Earth. However, that didn’t happen, and now there was a new piece on the board he was unaware of.
He had to find out about this piece sooner rather than later.
