Chapter 3: Over A Billion Year Of Torture
In a private lab belonging to the principal, Aidan lay on a white bed.
"This is absurd..." Principal Beatrix muttered, her pupils flickering with a complex symbol as she held an exotic transparent mirror in her hand, scanning Aidan’s broken but yet-to-disperse talent rune.
"He is not dead either. This state..."
Her eyes widened in shock as she examined the body’s state and found no change to it despite five minutes passing.
’This... is he fully in stasis?’
It was like time stopped for Aidan.
’Interesting.’
She infused mana into the artifact to check something deeper.
’Let’s check his soul.’
However, her eyes narrowed in doubt two seconds later.
’What is this? It’s not his soul....’
’But that’s his soul presence for sure.’
There was a tiny wisp instead of the usual soul that looked like their physical appearance.
’His soul is somewhere else, but its anchor is here, so that it could return?’
Beatrix frowned. ’What’s going on?’
...
Aidan was surrounded by darkness.
"Hello?"
"Am I flying? I don’t feel anything below my feet."
"Is anyone here?"
"No hell, no heaven... is this darkness the afterlife?"
Aidan felt at a loss.
And then, he sighed.
"I... killed myself."
Aidan raised his hand and slapped himself.
"I regret it."
PAT!
PAT!
PAT!
"I rushed the decision..." Aidan felt anger rising inside him.
And then he started crying.
’I loved her wholeheartedly... she... why? Couldn’t she trust in a second awakening? Many people had it.’
’Letting go so easily... did she even love me at all?’
’Ten years of love and bonding, all broken by a moment of truth... She severed everything.’
After crying for a while, Aidan calmed down.
"I am dead, and I am here."
He looked around.
Nothing but pitch-black darkness.
"This can’t be the end... right?"
His eyes whirled with despair.
Just thinking about spending eternity here made him feel like he was in hell.
One hour passed.
"DAMN IT! WHERE ARE YOU?! ISN’T THERE A GOD OR SOMETHING?!"
A sole faint golden figure of Aidan wandered in the utter darkness.
Seeing nothing. Feeling nothing.
One day passed.
"Help..."
"Is there anyone out there?"
"How long has it been?"
"Fuck..."
One year passed.
"I want to die..."
"Why am I not dead yet?"
"Help..."
Ten years passed.
A dimly lit golden figure lay in the darkness, his golden eyes whirling with black, filled with pain.
’No... why did you-?’
He was living a life, fed to him by this darkness. Just...It was not a good life.
A whirl of despair gripped him in its entirety.
Then he smiled.
A new life flashed in his eyes.
A new world. A new family. A new happiness.
A new girl.
And then it all came crashing down. The life turned into hell. Betrayals, agony, and despair.
Pain renewed.
Life ended in despair.
A new life began. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
This series of despairing lives started ever since he remembered something that happened when he was a year old, when he was with his parents back on Earth.
Remembering that made his regret even more intense. He regretted that he died for someone who abandoned him because doing that also destroyed his parents’ wish for him.
He had a whole life to explore, and live. He had a lot to do with his life! BUT HE FUCKING DIED BY KILLING HIMSELF!
It was then that he lay in the darkness, utterly despairing, and couldn’t move anymore.
But the darkness was playing with him after he remembered that.
It was forcing him to live in despairing illusion lives, and he could not stop it.
A hundred years passed.
"No Haue Ahek..."
Aidan was like this for a while.
No coherent words came out of his mouth.
And pain ran rampant through him.
Never decreasing, only increasing.
A hundred years, two hundred years, a thousand years... an unknown amount of time passed.
A faint pale gold light flickered in the pitch-black darkness.
Aidan looked horrifying.
His limbs were sucked into slits barely a few centimeters thick, with jet-black trails all over his body.
His eyes were big black holes, whirling.
Thoughts were not stopping. The darkness was not letting him rest.
He lived in some world, suffered, despaired, and repeated, filling the void that constantly ate at him.
After an unknown amount of time, only a faint shine remained, only a little bit in the depths of his void-filled eyes.
It was then that it happened.
A slit opened above him.
An eye, otherworldly, eldritch, and giant, stretching over ten meters. It was purple, with pupils of jet black, dark orange, and a flaming crimson symbol with serene white fills.
"So it has ripened. Welcome to the Terroreign. You’ll make for a good Terror General, perhaps a Terror Commander."
A dark translucent light flowed towards Aidan, enveloping him.
But right as it was about to fully contain him, Aidan’s eyes burst with golden brilliance.
"So... it was you." Aidan’s void-eaten figure began glowing.
"You were the one torturing me...?" Aidan’s fist clenched, eyes raging.
The anger inside him flared so much, fuelling his will so much, that his body suddenly swelled to the size of a hundred meters tall, startling both him and the eye.
"Huh?" Aidan looked down, confused. But his focus swiftly went to the eye as he rubbed his fist.
"You tortured me..."
The eye was horrified.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?! WHY ARE YOU STILL SANE IN THIS DARKNESS OF DESPAIR WHEN IT’S BEEN A BILLION FUCKING YEARS OF TORTURE FOR YOU IN THIS PLACE?!"
Aidan’s jaw clenched, and suddenly, he swelled to over a thousand meters, his body glowing like a sun.
"BECAUSE I FUCKING REGRET DYING!" ƒrēewebnovel.com
"I REMEMBERED MY PARENTS TELLING ME TO LIVE AFTER GIVING THEIR LIVES TO FUCKING SAVE ME WHEN I WAS A YEAR OLD! I FUCKING REMEMBERED THAT SOMEHOW!"
"BUT YOU KEPT MESSING WITH MY MIND FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG AND FORCING ME TO GIVE IN!"
"FUCK! I REGRET IT!
Aidan raised his leg before slamming it down, his anger bursting so fiercely that even a volcano would pale in comparison.
"I REGRET IT SO MUCH!"
"SO YOU FUCKING DIE! AND GET ME OUT OF HERE!"
The eye below was fully bloodshot was it saw Aidan getting even more bigger as he as he got angrier.
"This is fucking insane!" It disappeared right before Aidan’s foot landed on it.
’Shit, shit. This has never happened before. What’s going on? I have to inform a Terror Master quickly.’
Meanwhile, the darkness around Aidan shattered, and he felt a pull.
