Chapter 19: The Trouble
"So you want to die?" Aidan blinked as he asked. "That would really be easier, right?"
Mira glanced at him before looking away. "You don’t know anything."
"Right." Aidan nodded with a smile. "So how about you tell me?"
"I can help you, you know?"
"You can’t." Mira didn’t even look at him.
Aidan chuckled. "What if I can? Wouldn’t you have missed a golden chance?"
Mira didn’t say anything, ignoring him completely.
"It looks like you are thinking about something." Aidan walked in front of her. "Making a decision. Is that why you still haven’t left?"
Mira’s jaw tightened. Her dead eyes were flickering with sparks. Sparks filled with wrath.
Aidan whispered, "Do you want revenge on someone?"
Mira’s eyes snapped to him, startled. freeweɓnovel.cøm
How did he know?
Aidan smiled. "What if I can help you?"
[Terror Master’s Minion is contacting her. Our advantage is that the Minion can only interact with her and gain information based on her memories. It knows about you now, but it doesn’t know you are a Transcendent Player.]
’I see.’
"How do you know?" Mira asked quietly. "Did they send you to torment me and finally kill me?"
Aidan blinked. ’So someone or a group is targeting her?’
"Who are they?" he asked. "I am not one of them, but let’s just say that I have a power that can sense when there’s something wrong with someone, if someone is in trouble."
Mira opened her mouth and closed it again before shaking her head. "The people after me have a powerful backing. To get what they want, to warn me, to make me afraid..."
Her eyes trembled, her voice shaking. "To do just that, they killed my parents. B-But I will not give in."
Aidan narrowed his eyes. "Who did that?"
Mira took a deep breath with her eyes closed. When she opened them, they were calm and determined, as if she had made a decision.
"You don’t need to know. I’ll deal with them."
Aidan shook his head. "Sorry, I can’t let you do that."
Mira looked at him and smiled flatly. In the next second, she disappeared.
Without a second of hesitation, Aidan also triggered his wristband and disappeared.
Appearing outside, the first thing he did was use a spell on Mira before she reached her camp.
A crude tracker spell: Sanguine Trail.
He basically imprinted a bit of his blood into her, tiny enough that nobody would notice, but with his blood mastery, he could track it.
Aidan went towards Blue Vortex’s camp.
Everyone knew the result already since all teams except the Blue Vortex team had exited already.
Seeing him, Beatrix and Howzer were both all smiles.
"We heard your tales from others. Haha, well done." Howzer laughed.
Beatrix nodded while grinning.
"This is nothing much, just a token of your contribution. Take it." Howzer took out a pouch out of nowhere and handed it to Aidan. "Inside, there’s a Tier-5 Star Milk Fruit. It can permanently increase your stats. Take it after you become a B-rank Hunter to acquire maximum gains."
"Thanks." Aidan politely smiled and accepted, even though it was completely useless to him.
[Trial Quest completed.]
The Terror Nexus was destroyed in the process of purifying the dimension.
Aidan felt it. An invisible wall blocking him was breaking down.
He could level up and get stronger again.
’I suppose I should get stronger before getting myself involved in Mira’s business.’ fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
’I need help,’ Aidan secretly relayed to Beatrix.
’What’s up?’
’I need to enter a Terrorized Dimension or a Terror Tear of Tier-10.’
’What? Again?’ Beatrix was speechless.
’Well... I suppose Tier-9 is fine too, but no lower than that.’
Aidan didn’t know what his next level cap was.
He had stopped at A-10 stats previously, which was equivalent to Tier-6.
There was a high possibility he would stop at Tier-10 next.
’Actually, I need Tier-10. It can’t be any lower than that. It would be useless otherwise.’
’Fine. Let me see if anyone has discovered one.’
’Contact me when you find one, please. I’ll have to go now for an important task.’
Aidan then left. The other guild camps had also left, and since the Blue Vortex team had also come out, they were leaving as well.
Swoosh!
"Where is he going? Did you tell him about the party?" Howzer asked, seeing Aidan flying away.
"I’ll tell him later. Right now, he is going to do something important, according to him, but I have no idea what."
"Make sure he doesn’t land in trouble."
"Of course."
...
Aidan had entered stealth, with Arthur flying him towards Mira.
They had already caught up to the airship of the 28th-ranked Blazing Wings Guild.
’There she is.’
Aidan leisurely followed the ship at its speed. But it was still flying at Mach 2.
After half an hour, it landed at the Blazing Wings headquarters.
It was a magnificent area, fully stylized and thematic, with props and decorations that showed the style of the guild, and a pair of gigantic orange wings in the center that magically glowed as if they were on fire.
After Mira exited the airship, she left the Blazing Wings headquarters in a flying car that she took out of her storage ring.
Aidan followed her.
It was around 3 PM. The sun was burning with unbearable heat, raining down on normal people.
Mira parked her car in a public parking lot before she speedily skated along the road using a simple mana spell.
Aidan had put Arthur back into the summoning space and followed Mira using the Dread Light Mask.
’Where is she going?’
The area was becoming desolate, and soon she arrived at an abandoned factory area that was sealed.
Jumping over the fence, she entered inside.
Aidan had already sensed several people. Mira was going to meet them. Or rather, kill them at the cost of her life.
He went ahead and saw them. Surprisingly, they were C-rank Hunters. Young and haughty.
Five boys.
He recognized two of them. They were on the Blazing Wings team that had entered the Terrorized Dimension.
Seeing Mira arrive, the eyes of all five lit up like hungry wolves.
’Are you burying her here later, or is one of you taking her?’
’I lost my previous toy, so I do want a new one, but I don’t have any more slave collars.’
’Haha, I got one.’
Mira stopped ten meters across from the group, her eyes reflecting cold fury.
They had taken everything from her. Now only her life was left, so she was going to give her life away and make sure these five pieces of trash disappeared forever.
"So you’ve arrived, babe. I guess you know that if you want to live, you’ll have to obey us." The silky brown-haired boy in the group grinned as he licked his lips. "Such a terrific figure. I can’t wait to wrap myself around it."
"Here, take this and wear it around your wrist." A blond-haired boy took out a colorful wristband with a gemstone design.
Mira’s eyes trembled. An illegal product that could even take away a person’s desire for death.
If she wore it, she would lose control over her own body.
"You will pay for what you did," Mira said, her voice low and icy.
"Indeed. They will pay for what they did."
A voice rang out from behind her, familiar.
Her eyes widened as she turned around and saw Aidan cracking his knuckles, his face grinning, but not the happy kind of grin. It was a pissed-off kind of grin.
’I guess I know how I am going to vent my anger this time. Arthur, seal the area. Make sure no sound or sense goes out or comes inside.’
