Chapter 115: Chapter 101: Clearing out the Goblin Settlement

"Learned Skill [Ice Cone Skill]! Magic Power +1!"

A line of text appeared before Lin Mo’s eyes in his inn room at night.

After his previous experience, combining the Magic Circuits wasn’t exactly second nature, but he was at least experienced enough for it to go much more smoothly.

After some trial and error, the notification for learning the skill appeared before Lin Mo.

[Ice Cone Skill] Lv1 (0/10): Condense Magic Power to resonate with the Ice Element, forming an Ice Cone to attack the enemy.

Lin Mo tried using the Magic. A small Ice Blade quickly formed in his palm.

It was slightly larger than his Fireball had been when he first learned the Fireball Technique, probably because Lin Mo had just gained another point of Magic Power.

He decided against casting it, since he’d have to pay for any damages to the inn. Instead, Lin Mo dropped the Ice Blade directly into the fruit juice he had just ordered. Moments later, the drink became refreshingly cool.

’With both Ice and Fire, forget about killing enemies for a moment—my daily life is going to be so much more convenient. I can have an iced drink whenever I want.’

After finishing his drink, Lin Mo collapsed onto the soft bed and quickly fell asleep.

He slept especially peacefully that night.

The Magic Scroll incident that had troubled him for so long was finally resolved. He had also left Roland Town and arrived in a new, safer place. On top of that, the 50-Copper-Coin room was indeed much better than the 10 Copper Coins one; the bed was softer and the blanket was fluffier, giving Lin Mo a feeling of being at home.

So, when he opened his eyes the next day, it was already eight in the morning.

Lin Mo stretched. ’Since I started my life as an Adventurer, I’ve rarely had such a good night’s sleep.’

He got up and went to the restaurant downstairs to eat. Though it wasn’t included in the room fee, the prices weren’t expensive. A simple breakfast only cost a few Copper Coins. It seemed less about making money and more about providing convenience for the guests.

’I have to say, the owner here has a real knack for business.’

Alton and his group had just gotten settled, but they still had things to take care of at their new place and would likely be resting for a while. So, after finishing his meal, Lin Mo went straight to the Adventurer’s Association by himself.

Walking into the Association, he saw that compared to Roland Town, the main hall here was not only more spacious but also more exquisitely decorated. The tables and chairs looked high-end and sturdy, and there were far more counters.

The one thing that hadn’t changed was the enthusiastic clamor of the Adventurers.

The familiar noise quickly put Lin Mo into "Adventurer mode."

The hall’s layout was largely similar to the one in Roland Town, with numerous quests hanging on a giant wall. Out of habit, Lin Mo first glanced over the F Level tasks. Finding nothing special, he turned his attention directly to the E Level Task area.

"So many..."

Compared to Roland Town, the selection of tasks at the Silver Stream City Adventurer’s Association was indeed much more abundant. A single glance was enough to make Lin Mo’s head spin.

[Condensed Liquid Collection]

Task ID: E3029

Type: Hunt/Material Collection

Client: Lola

Reward: 16 gold coins

Task Description:

Go to Loran Forest, find and kill 1 Large Slime, and bring back its Condensate.

Time Limit: 3 days

A very familiar task flashed before his eyes, making Lin Mo shudder involuntarily and quickly look away.

’Damn it, they have Slime tasks here too.’

Although the price was 3 gold coins higher than in Roland Town, there was no way Lin Mo would ever willingly take this task.

[Horn Charge]

Task ID: E2334

Type: Hunt/Material Collection

Client: Los

Reward: 21 gold coins/pair

Task Description:

Go to Loran Forest, find and kill Minotaurs, and bring back their complete horns.

Time Limit: Long-term

Note: If High Tier Minotaurs are found, you may also contact the client for acquisition. The price is guaranteed to satisfy!

’This one’s a bit interesting, but finding a Minotaur isn’t guaranteed. It depends on luck.’

After all, Lin Mo had been out so many times, and aside from that one time he accidentally entered a Secret Realm, he didn’t seem to have ever encountered one.

But it was a long-term task with no time limit, so he might as well accept it first and see.

Lin Mo continued to look, sifting through the tasks one by one until his eyes ached. Finally, he found one he liked.

[Clear Out the Goblin Settlement]

Task ID: E4485

Type: Cleanup

Client: Adventurer’s Association

Reward: 10 gold coins + an extra 3 silver coins per Goblin, and an extra 1 gold coin per Mutated Goblin

Task Description:

A small, newly formed Goblin Settlement, designated Number 63, has been discovered in Loran Forest. Adventurers are needed to clear it out.

Note: Requires a team led by an Adventurer who is a Professional.

Time Limit: 10 days

The approximate location of the settlement was attached at the bottom.

’Number 63, huh... Looks like there are a lot of Goblins around Silver Stream City, too...’

This task was perfect for the current Lin Mo.

Although the reward wasn’t huge, the difficulty was also relatively low. Traveling alone wasn’t like being in a team; without teammates to help with miscellaneous tasks and watch his back, the risks would increase significantly. It was better to play it safe.

Besides, a low-difficulty task was also perfect for grinding his Magic’s Skill Level. It was practically a perfect fit.

Tearing the quest slip from the board, Lin Mo scanned his surroundings and quickly found a familiar figure.

Silver-gray hair, a beret on her head, and a delicate, cute face.

Lena was already at work.

Unlike the deserted counters back in Roland Town, here in Silver Stream City, perhaps because she was new, there were actually a few Adventurers at her window.
