Chapter 303: Sure
"I’m very sure about this."
Lor glanced briefly at the wall separating the rooms. He had very personal, very loud evidence over many nights that the master bedroom was most definitely not soundproof.
He kept his mouth shut.
Mira continued cheerfully, completely oblivious.
"And if it gets too late, you are both welcome to stay the night. No point walking home at this hour with what’s been happening in town lately. There’s been a killer about." She lowered her voice dramatically for a moment, then immediately brightened again.
"Lor is a sweet, innocent child, but if you’re at all uncomfortable sharing his room I can easily send him downstairs to the couch. You girls can have his room to yourselves."
She meant every single word with complete sincerity.
Eva and Viora exchanged the smallest, quickest glance. A flash of something knowing passed between them.
They both reassured her warmly. "Please don’t worry at all, Mrs. Mira," Eva said with a gentle smile. "We’ll figure out whatever arrangement makes sense when the time comes. We’re perfectly fine."
Viora added politely, "Thank you for your kindness."
Mira beamed at them once more, radiating happiness.
She wished them good luck with their studying and thanked them again for helping her son.
The two girls thanked her in return, sincere and polite.
Mira finally headed back toward the kitchen, the comforting sounds of dishes and running water resuming from below.
Lor led them upstairs.
Eva and Viora followed quietly behind him, their footsteps soft on the wooden steps.
The faint scent of Eva’s light floral perfume and Viora’s clean, slightly earthy athletic warmth drifted up to him with every step. He opened the door to his room.
They filed inside one by one.
He closed the door behind them with a soft, final click.
.
The warm lamplight in Lor’s room felt heavier now that the door was closed.
The faint sounds of Mira washing dishes downstairs drifted up like a distant, comforting reminder of normal life.
Inside, the air had shifted.
Eva and Viora sat side by side on the edge of Lor’s bed. The mattress dipped slightly under their combined weight.
Eva’s deep green blouse stretched tight across her full, heavy breasts, the undone top buttons offering a generous view of soft, pale cleavage that rose and fell with each calm breath.
Her short black skirt had ridden up just enough on her thick thighs to reveal the smooth skin higher up.
Viora sat close beside her, her tight white tunic hugging her firm, rounded breasts and athletic curves.
Her dark shorts clung to her powerful thighs, the fabric taut over the strong muscles.
Lor lowered himself cross-legged onto the floor directly in front of them. From this low angle he had a perfect view upward.
His eyes drifted naturally — first to the hem of Eva’s skirt, the slight gap between her thighs, the flash of blue panties just visible in the shadows.
The sight sent a slow pulse of heat through him. He noted it without changing his relaxed expression, then lifted his gaze back to her face.
"So," he said casually, looking between them. "Why did you come?"
Eva answered without hesitation, her voice steady and practical.
"I want the Guiding Light’s help with my bloodline magic. Specifically my wood ability, for the practical exams." She leaned forward slightly, her heavy breasts pressing against the green fabric.
"Traditional spells like fire-casting and energy projection are what every student trains for. Bloodline abilities are scored separately and weighted more heavily. If I can push my wood magic beyond its current ceiling before the exam, I gain ground that nobody else is even competing for."
She spoke with the focused confidence of someone who had thought this through carefully. Her green eyes were clear and determined.
Lor listened, nodding slowly. He turned his head toward Viora.
Viora didn’t answer right away. She looked at him, then away.
Her fingers found the hem of her sleeve and fidgeted with it.
The silence stretched. One beat.
Two.
Eva noticed. She glanced at Viora, then nudged her gently with her shoulder.
"You can trust him," she said quietly. "Whatever it is, it stays in this room."
Viora looked at Eva.
Something passed between them — silent understanding. Then Viora slid off the bed and got down onto the floor.
She crawled the short distance across to Lor, unhurried, eyes down, until her face was right beside his. Her breath brushed his ear as she whispered.
"I want to improve my magic casting," she murmured. "Stronger output. Better control under pressure. For the exam."
Lor turned his head slightly, his lips close to her ear.
"Why isn’t Myra with you?" he whispered back, light and curious. "You two go everywhere together. Even the bathroom."
Viora pulled back just enough to meet his eyes. She glanced at Eva.
Eva gave the smallest nod. Viora leaned in again, her voice even softer.
"Myra scored 37 in the combined theory exam. Higher than me. I scored 32." She hesitated, then added, "I want to beat her in the practical. I want to win this one for myself."
She pulled back and stayed on the floor beside him rather than returning to the bed. freewebnøvel.coɱ
Her expression looked slightly exposed, vulnerable in a way she rarely showed. The friendly competition between her and Myra had clearly turned sharper.
Lor sat with it quietly for a moment.
He could see exactly what was happening — the long-standing friendship bending under the pressure of numbers and rankings.
Two girls who had always been inseparable were now quietly measuring each other. He didn’t say any of this out loud.
"Fine," he said simply. "I’ll help you both."
He reached into his pocket and placed the silver coin on the floor between himself and the two girls. It caught the lamplight with a soft gleam.
"Both of you. Sit in front of me. Here."
Eva slid off the bed gracefully, her skirt riding higher for a moment and flashing more blue lace.
She settled on the floor across from him. Viora shifted into place right beside her. The coin sat between the three of them, gleaming.
Lor closed his eyes.
