While Rios was examining his status panel, he heard a series of explosions nearby.
It wasn’t the sound of ordinary explosions.
It sounded more like footsteps!
"Holy shit, how big is that thing for its footsteps to sound this powerful?"
Fear immediately surged through Rios.
He quickly ran away, drove his roots into the ground, and hid among the trees.
A few seconds later, an eighteen-meter-tall Giant emerged from the forest carrying a massive stone hammer nearly half his height.
"Who is the bastard that trespassed into Ang’s territory?! Who hunted inside Ang’s territory?! Come out and fight Ang now!"
The Giant looked at the devastated trees scattered throughout the area, then at the Jumping Monkey lying on the ground with its head turned into a pile of minced flesh, and roared in a deep voice.

Rios was stunned for several seconds.
His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets after seeing the new notification.
Inside his mind, he screamed:
"You damned system, you son of a bitch! How the hell am I supposed to fight a Giant that’s almost four times bigger than me and a whole level stronger?! And you want me to kill him too?! Are you trying to get me killed this quickly?!"
Rios nearly went insane.
[Reminder: 55 minutes remaining.]
"Come out now, coward, and fight Ang with strength and honor!"
Ang roared like thunder and swung his hammer, smashing several massive trees in his path.
Meanwhile, Rios continued cursing his terrible luck.
"Damn that stupid Giant. At this rate, sooner or later I’m going to get smashed by that gigantic hammer... There aren’t many options left. I have to do it!"
Rios patiently waited until Ang moved a little closer.
This was a risk he had to take.
He was simply waiting for the right moment.
As Ang searched for the intruder, he turned around and exposed his back to Rios.
"Chance!"
"Power of Abyss, activate!"
"Full Armament, activate!"
Rios shouted inwardly.
Energy surged through his vascular tissues like a raging hurricane.
In an instant, he launched half of his flexible branches along with two roots toward the Giant’s leg.
"AAAAARGH!"
The branches and roots pierced through the Giant’s leg, causing him to scream in agony.
"What?! Damn it, what is this Giant made of?!"
Rios tried to pull back his branches and roots but failed.
They were stuck!
The Giant turned around and stared at Rios with blood-red eyes as though he wanted to eat him alive.
Well...
It looked like he actually intended to.
The Giant raised his hammer and brought it crashing down toward Rios like a meteor.

Rios raised his remaining two roots along with the rest of his flexible branches to block the gigantic hammer.
BOOOOM!
CRAAACK!
The sound of metal colliding echoed through the forest as the stone hammer smashed against the crystalline roots.
The tremendous impact numbed Rios’s roots and branches.
However, he paid little attention to the pain.
He had finally found an opportunity to free his trapped roots and branches.
Rios retreated fifty meters and looked toward the Giant, who had fallen to one knee due to the severe wounds and deformation in his leg.
If Rios’s previous attack had struck a Master (1) monster with 100% progress, it would have crushed it into minced meat.
Yet against a Master (2) with 80% progress, the attack had done little more than inflict serious injuries.
"It’s over for you now, you stupid Giant."
Grinding his teeth in frustration and anger, Rios launched two whip-like branches toward the Giant’s head.

The Giant dropped his hammer, grabbed both branches, and tried pulling Rios toward him.
But he couldn’t move him at all.
"Ang will kill you!"
Rios firmly anchored his roots into the ground and sneered.
"You’ll kill me? Keep dreaming, you Giant bastard. Because after today, you won’t be able to dream anymore!"
This time, Rios launched six branches toward the Giant.
One targeted his heart.
Two targeted his eyes.
Two more targeted both hands.
And the final branch targeted his healthy leg.
Rios intended to cripple the Giant completely.
When the Giant saw the attack, he attempted to move his hands and defend himself.
But he couldn’t.
Looking down, he discovered that Rios’s chain-like branches had already wrapped tightly around his wrists and completely restricted his movements.
Thanks to Flexibility, which granted him precise control over his body, Rios had taken advantage of the Giant’s distraction while trying to pull him closer and tear apart his branches.
Slowly and carefully, he had extended his branches around the Giant’s wrists until the perfect moment arrived.
Then he tightened them completely, preventing the Giant from moving.
The process had been slow and meticulous.
But for a tree like Rios, it felt perfectly natural.

The six branches struck their targets.
The Giant was immediately plunged into unbearable agony.
He rolled across the ground and tried raising his hands to cover his eyes, which had been ripped from their sockets.

But because he understood the truth.

The law of the jungle.
Here, if you didn’t eat, you would be eaten.
If the Giant possessed the strength, then Rios would be the one rolling across the ground right now.
Rios didn’t justify anything.
He didn’t even try.
He killed because he had to.
To survive.
To become the predator instead of the prey.
Yet the strangest thing was how quickly he adapted.
His adaptation to his skills.
His abilities.
His body.
Even battle, death, and killing.
Everything felt unnaturally natural.
The adaptation was so fast and so strange that Rios himself failed to notice it.
Rios approached the Giant and stopped beside his head, which was the size of a small carriage.
He wrapped three roots around it and squeezed with all his strength.
