"Holy shit! Is that a prehistoric snake?!"
Rios shouted inwardly in alarm, but contrary to what he expected, his body didn’t tremble, adrenaline didn’t rush through his veins, and that instinctive fear humans felt when facing a predator never appeared.
"Wait a second... why am I even thinking about these things? I’m a tree now, not a human! Do trees even fear snakes?"
Rios took several deep breaths, calming the remnants of thoughts left behind from his previous humanity, then carefully examined the enormous snake.
"Come on, man. You fought a wild wolf in your previous life! Are you really scared of a slightly oversized worm now?"
Rios mocked himself as encouragement.
Back in his previous life, during a work trip to a forest, Rios had gotten separated from the group. Thanks to his terrible luck, he encountered a wild wolf!
A massive wolf nearly half the size of a grown man! freewebnøvel.com
Rios did everything a human could do to survive.
Run!
Scream!
Fight with a thick tree branch!
And surprisingly enough, he survived.
At least until the rescue team arrived.
This time, however, with his incredible flexibility, impenetrable armor, flexible branches stronger than bullets, and roots deadlier than a crocodile’s jaws...
What exactly did Rios have to fear?
"Just a Level One black snake with fifty percent progress, right? No problem. Come to Grandpa, you damn worm!"

[Abyss Bloodline Activated]
[Conditions Met]
[The Host has awakened a Bloodline Skill]
[Skill: Power of Abyss (Legendary)]
(Skill Details: The inhabitants of the Abyss fear nothing. To them, battle and slaughter are the greatest catalysts for growth. Upon activating Power of Abyss, your strength will multiply several times until your energy and mental power are exhausted.)
Note:
1- The amount of power the Host can draw out depends on their mental strength.
2- The greater the amplification, the greater the energy consumption.

Rios looked at the new skill, his smile widening as he stared at the black snake with excitement.
"Come on, darling. Let’s dance a little, hehehehehe."
The black snake sensed the blatant hostility coming from Rios and disliked the arrogance of its prey.
Like a ghost, it shot toward the strange tree.
HISSSSS!
"Come here, worm! Armament!"
Rios shouted excitedly as he fully activated Armament.
A black crystalline armor quickly formed around his bark, while his flexible branches transformed into something resembling chains tipped with spearheads.
Rios launched four of his whip-like branches toward the black snake.
The branches stretched forward, pierced through the snake’s scales, and inflicted severe injuries.
Yet the snake continued charging!
HISSSSS!
The snake wrapped itself around Rios’s trunk and began squeezing with all its strength, attempting to crush him.
At the same time, it bit down repeatedly, trying to tear through his bark.
It failed.
Not only that, but several of its teeth shattered against the crystalline bark!
"Stubborn and stupid worm. Watch carefully and learn."
"This is what you call crushing!"
Rios launched two of his four roots, grabbing the snake by its head and midsection.
Then he exerted force.
Numerous sharp crystal spikes erupted from the roots and crushed the black snake’s body!
Blood splattered everywhere around Rios, covering a large portion of him.
In truth, he neither minded nor even paid much attention to it.

"I didn’t even need to use Power of Abyss, hehehehehe."
Rios smiled as he enjoyed the thrill of killing enhanced by the Abyss Bloodline, then began searching through the snake’s corpse.
If his guess was correct, monsters in this type of world should possess something similar to a monster core.
After some searching, Rios finally found it among the mess of minced flesh.
It was a small sphere roughly the size of a ping-pong ball.
However, the moment Rios grabbed it, it instantly turned into dust.
"System, what’s going on? Why did the core disappear when I touched it?"
[The Host already absorbed the core’s energy immediately upon completing the kill. The Host may view their statistics through the status panel.]
"So that’s where the points come from."
Rios finally understood and opened his status panel.

After carefully examining his status, Rios closed the system panel and looked thoughtfully toward the sky.
Since arriving in this world, this was the first time he had truly noticed it.
The sky here wasn’t blue like the one in his original world.
Instead, it was emerald green.
Using his roots as legs and his flexible branches as hands, Rios climbed one of the gigantic trees until he reached a height of one hundred meters.
Only then did he finally observe his surroundings.
A tree climbing a tree!
If anyone heard that, they would undoubtedly think it was one of the greatest jokes of the century.
Yet Rios had made it reality.
As far as the eye could see, an endless forest stretched into the distance.
The trees were so dense that it was impossible to tell what lurked beneath them.
Several hundred kilometers away, at the edge of the horizon, a gigantic mountain range surrounded the entire forest in a perfectly enclosed circle.
"So what now? Shall we start hunting?"
Rios climbed down from the giant tree and slowly ventured deeper into the dense forest.
"Where are you, my fat little sheep? This grandpa has missed you very much, hehehehehehehe."
