Chapter 16: Abyss Tomb

CH 16: Abyss Tomb

The commander ran at full speed and shouted at the top of his lungs!

"Ruuuun! Scatterrrrr!"

But it was too late!

BOOOOOOM!

The fog-shrouded meteor crashed down with terrifying force, killing at least several hundred soldiers!

"Hahaha, just as I thought! Thanks to the protection of the Abyss Cloud and the crystal shield, I wonโ€™t have any problem during free fall. Even if I drop from several hundred meters in the air."

Rios gradually emerged from the gray mist, surrounded by a black crystal shield, and looked at the Centaur soldiers who had already begun retreating in panic.

To them, what had just appeared was a gigantic demon larger than any beast or Giant they had ever seen!

"Where the fuck are you running, you damn points?!"

Rios roared the moment he saw the Centaur soldiers retreating and charged at them without the slightest hesitation!

At that moment, Rios no longer saw these half-horse, half-human creatures as living beings that breathed and felt emotions. In his eyes, they were nothing more than moving points waiting to be collected!

And since he was such a good person, Rios wasnโ€™t going to waste a single point or let even one escape!

He extended his branches and roots, crushing and slicing apart every soldier in his path.

"Spread out! Scatter! Donโ€™t bunch together in one place!"

The Centaur commanders sprinted through the battlefield, shouting orders with everything they had.

Rios ignored them completely and multiplied the pace of his slaughter several times over while sending part of his consciousness to question the system.

"System, can I consume points during battle and convert them into energy?" Rios asked, hoping for the answer he wanted.

The reply came almost immediately.

[The system only assists the host. It is not a cheating tool.]

The system answered in a cold voice, openly mocking Rios.

"What? Damn you! Youโ€™re talking about honor now? Youโ€™re literally the biggest cheating tool in the world!"

Rios cursed angrily while sending even more branches flying to kill the nearest fleeing Centaur.

The eight commanders split apart and tried to reorganize the scattered army, attempting to rally the troops once more to face the monster that had fallen from the sky.

Grinding his teeth with excitement, Rios stared at the fleeing Centaur soldiers with bloodthirsty eyes and spoke in a voice overflowing with madness. ฦ’ะณeeweษ“nเซฆvel.com

"I donโ€™t want a single one of you thinking about escaping. None of you have anywhere to run today. Itโ€™s been a long time since I got this skill, and I havenโ€™t had the chance to use it. Today seems like the perfect day. Why donโ€™t you become my little test subjects and give me your honest opinion about my skill?"

His voice drifted across the battlefield like the whispers of ghosts, filling the soldiers with even greater terror.

But not everyone backed away.

"Advance! Surround him from every direction! Donโ€™t leave him a single path to escape through!"

The eight level-three Centaur commanders bravely stepped forward, armed with swords, shields, axes, and spears to confront Rios. Behind each commander stood hundreds of level-two soldiers, ready to turn Rios into nothing more than a pile of firewood for cold winter nights.

Yet Rios faced that massive force with nothing but a cold gaze filled with pride and ridicule before uttering a single sentence.

"Abyss Tomb... Activate!"

The instant those words left his mouth, the entire battlefield changed.

Strange black mist erupted from the ground, spreading across an area of one square kilometer and enveloping the entire Centaur army!

At the same time, fifty meters overhead, a black cloud formed across the exact same area covered by the mist below.

From both the ground fog and the cloud in the sky emerged thousands of gray slabs resembling tombstones, each radiating a dreadful aura that rejected life itself.

Rios deliberately restrained the power of Abyss Tomb, preventing it from burying the Centaur soldiers immediately and exhausting all his energy before he could wipe them out.

Otherwise, if he unleashed it at full power, several thousand would die instantlyโ€”but afterward, he would become nothing more than an empty shell, giving the survivors a chance to kill him.

The black mist on the ground and the cloud overhead began rotating in spirals, severely suppressing the Centaursโ€™ ability to move.

"Welcome to the Abyss Tomb... my kingdom."

Rios spoke indifferently, looking at the Centaur soldiers the way an Immortal would look upon a gathering of mortal slaves already destined to die.

"W-Who... who are you?!"

One of the Centaur commanders screamed in terror, fear finally taking hold of him.

"Damn it! This strange mist is suppressing most of my strengthโ€”I can barely move! It feels like Iโ€™m walking through a swamp of thick mud andโ€”"

Another commander shouted in despair and rage, but before he could finish speaking, Rios welcomed him in his own way.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Riosโ€™s whip-like branches shot forward like raging dragons toward that commander and his soldiers, harvesting their heads as if they were chickens rather than people.

Within seconds, no one remained alive in that direction.

"Y-Youโ€™re a demon! A demon! A demon!"

Another commander screamed, terror seeping into his veins and bones as he pointed at Rios with trembling hands.

Fortunately for the poor man, his suffering didnโ€™t last long. The kind-hearted Rios pitied his fear, freed him from it, and sent him to join the rest of his friends.

Blood did not splatter everywhere as it normally would during such a massacre.

Corpses did not pile into mountains as they should have.

There was only suffocating silence, overwhelming fear, and brutal slaughter.

And every person who died was swallowed by the spiraling vortexes of mist across the battlefield, erased from existence.

Authorโ€™s Note: Mister XD

Hello everyone ^_^

Some of you might feel that Riosโ€™s journey against his enemies has been too easy up to this point, and honestly, youโ€™re right. There are several reasons for that:

1. The difference in bloodline quality between Rios and his enemies.

2. The difference in skill quality.

3. The third reason would be a spoiler, so youโ€™ll discover it yourselves in the future.

But all of that is about to end, because the enemies Rios faces from now on wonโ€™t be mere muscle-headed brutes.

Get ready to see Rios pushed into despair very soon.

A major surprise is waiting for you at the end of this volume.

Best regards,

Mister XD
