Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Who Fell into Whose Trap?

Ginny Gable’s brow furrowed. "What are you talking about? Didn’t you just deliberately pull out the contract in front of Philip Hale? Weren’t you trying to make him think you were just bluffing and didn’t have the financial strength to buy his assets? You lured him into letting his guard down and falling for your trap, so he’d just fill in the sale price on the contract and sign it, right?"

"It seems Philip Hale is quite the actor, to have even fooled Officer Gable. What you saw was just a facade. With Philip Hale’s influence, do you really think he wouldn’t know the Emperor Green from the auction sold for a fortune? Do you think he could be unaware that I have sufficient funds?" A smile returned to Seraphina Sterling’s face.

"Why would Philip Hale..." freeweɓnøvel.com

Ginny Gable truly felt his intellect was no match for Seraphina Sterling’s. He just couldn’t figure out what she saw so clearly!

"Because he hates my guts! He’s desperate for revenge! But he’s locked up in a police station and is completely powerless!" Seraphina Sterling said, tapping the contract against her palm.

"I’m sure you know that Justin Hale and Felix Gallagher are both fighting for Philip Hale’s assets. They’re powerful men, with deep pockets and significant social influence. No matter which one he sides with, he’s guaranteed to offend the other. Philip Hale can’t afford to face retaliation from either of them, yet both are determined to acquire his businesses. So now, Philip has quietly sold everything to me..."

Seraphina Sterling didn’t say any more. Given Ginny Gable’s intelligence, she didn’t need to. He would understand.

"Justin Hale and Felix Gallagher will both come after you and do everything in their power to seize these assets! Philip Hale is trying to use them to do his dirty work—he wants those two to take you down!" Ginny Gable blurted out without a second thought.

"If they both think Philip Hale only sold his assets to me because he fell for my trap, then Philip can walk away with his sixty million and stay completely out of it, while I become the one to bear the brunt of Justin Hale’s and Felix Gallagher’s anger!"

The corners of Seraphina Sterling’s lips curved into a slight smile. She stood on her tiptoes and patted Ginny Gable’s shoulder like an older sister. "You can’t be so naive anymore."

Ginny Gable was speechless.

’But I’m clearly the older one here!’

Things proceeded with unexpected smoothness. Thanks to Felix Gallagher’s help, the paperwork was processed with remarkable speed. Justin Hale had intended to give Philip Hale ample time to consider his offer, but he never imagined that in the single week he was away, the assets that were nearly in his grasp would simply slip away.

Seraphina Sterling made a point of seeing Felix Gallagher off before he left. "Mr. Gallagher, I owe you a huge thanks for your help. Everything went so smoothly because of you. I’ll make sure I get into Sovereign University, and I’ll come visit you then!"

"Sovereign University! Excellent! Very ambitious! When that day comes, I’ll be sure to throw a proper welcome for you!" Felix Gallagher had previously been impressed by her talent and skill in jade appraisal, but after witnessing her acquisition of Philip Hale’s assets, he was completely and utterly astounded.

He was amazed by her talent, her intellect, her shrewdness and strategic depth. He was even more astounded by her ability to read people’s hearts and her incredible nerve! To actually dare to snatch something from right under the nose of Mr. Hale from Aethelgard! She was truly one of a kind!

"It’s a deal!" Seraphina Sterling watched Felix Gallagher’s car slowly recede into the distance. Feeling the weight of the newly acquired assets, she let out a long breath. ’The first step of my revenge is finally complete!’ she thought. The path had been incredibly difficult and fraught with danger, but in the end, the outcome was a success.

"It seems I’ve underestimated you, Miss Sterling. To snatch up Philip Hale’s assets so quietly... your methods are truly astonishing," a voice said. Justin Hale had been waiting there for some time. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he never would have believed it: the great Mr. Hale of Aethelgard, being run in circles by a high school sophomore!
