Chapter 580: The Birthday Party [II]
Aside from the expected guests, Elaina also invited others such as Jacob the carpenter and Mayor Marigold. However, it is sad that they couldn’t come due to the conflicting schedule they have, which overlaps with the celebration. They did send their well wishes for the twins and their apologies for not being able to attend, which Elaina understood just fine.
Of course, Elaina did not forget to invite her employees in the Seed and Saplings Market. Although reluctant since it was their boss, Elaina insisted. Octavia, Rakkunzansa, Mei, and Randolph all came together. Despite being busy all the time due to how many customers they get every day, the employees are working hard; Elaina is always satisfied with their performance, and the sales of the seeds and saplings are doing well. Sooner or later, she will be promoting them and increasing their daily wage in the future.
Aside from the people outside the farm, Elaina made sure not to forget all of those who are currently working or staying on the farm.
"Definitely, Boss. I will make sure to come once I finish my tasks out here," Curaj said with a smile. Elaina was grateful for him to be so willing to work with dedication after all these years.
"Of course. This is an important celebration to the twins. We will definitely be there, Boss! We can even help you with the preparation of food if you need us!" Poe enthusiastically said.
"My wife is a good cook, Boss. You won’t regret it if you also employ her to cook!" Bam is very proud of that.
"Thanks for the suggestion, Bam and Poe. I do appreciate that you guys are willing to continue working and offering your services. However, everything is alright. I know you lot have been working nonstop from harvest through replanting, and I know how exhausting that must be. So even if only today, you guys should have a rest, relax, and have a good meal with us. So don’t worry about it. Perhaps next time," Elaina politely declined their suggestion.
"That’s alright, boss, and we are truly grateful for your invitation. No worries, we will be there with everyone once our work is done for the day. Say hello to the twins for us!"

Elaina made sure to invite everyone she knows and made sure to have a good time. Even the Harvest Goddess is already eating food without a care. Thankfully, Elaina already made sure to prepare for the glutton goddess to eat a lot and prepared more to ensure that she will be satiated without touching the other visitors’ food.
Aside from humans and other humanoid beings in the farm, Elaina also made sure that the animals, monsters, and livestock get to have a feast as well. Shardu and Zaza are feasting side by side with grilled meat, brushed with their favorite sauce. Even Silk, who recently arrived, also received their fair share of food, which was all fruits, berries, and other sweet veggies.
With the arrival of most of the guests, Elaina and Julia started carrying the dishes outside the house and onto the large table that Elaina has been using in the past whenever they celebrate something and a feast is bound to happen. Various recipes that Elaina knows how to cook and all of the recipes that Julia cooked are being served one by one.
As soon as all of the food is being carried to the table, the fairies from the fountain started to fly around and started singing a melody that made everyone in the surroundings to feel at awe of the fairies. Not only do the fairies have great voices, their vocalization felt so angelic that a few of the visitors started wiping their tears. Did they get moved hearing the song? Maybe, but for her, it is a tribute to the twins.
With the food all displayed and the guests gathering, Elaina stood in front of everyone and smiled as both the twins stood side by side with her. The fairies stopped singing and the surroundings are now quiet as everyone started looking at Elaina with the twins. Looking at the guests, Elaina nodded and started to speak.
"Everyone, I really appreciate everyone’s time to attend and celebrate the 8th birthday of my twins. I know everyone has busy schedules and all of the stuff that everyone are somewhat overlapping with your schedules and yet, you guys took the time to come and celebrate with us. This is a significant milestone for me and my children. Seeing you lot here with me to witness and celebrate the day my twins arrived in my life warms my heart."
With Elaina’s speech, everyone smiled and started clapping. Elaina picked up the wine glass filled with wine and raised it into the air.
"Thank you, everyone. Now, let’s eat!"
That sentence is the signal Julia needed to hear to bring out the final stuff she prepared for the twins. Julia grabbed the final dessert that Elaina and Julia prepared for the twins. As for what it was, it was a Dark Forest Cake. A mixture of both milk and chocolate, the favorite of the two kids combined into one cake as the flavor.
The cake was intricately crafted and cooked with love and care. Elaina might not know much of cooking cake, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to cook one. But with the help of Julia and, of course, the Almanac. Despite lacking the right way to cook food just yet, Elaina persevered, allowing her to create the Dark Forest Cake meant for the two after all the trial and error.
Seeing the big cake in front of them, both Adelaide and Arthur hug Elaina, pretty much happy at the current present that their mother has given to them.
"Julia, please cut the cake."
"Of course, Sis," Julia smiled and pulls out a knife.
Elaina is ready to pull her gift to the two when Elaina is suddenly alerted by the God of Farming.
"[Dodge, Elaina!]"
Before Elaina can even react, a sharp blade pierces through Elaina’s chest, spewing blood onto both Adelaide and Arthur, who were both too stunned to even make a move.
"What the...?" Elaina felt the sharp blade piercing her chest, deeply lodged behind her back by the stabber. It was something she didn’t expect. Peeking to her side, she saw the grinning figure of Julia currently stabbing Elaina’s back as deep as she can.
"You should probably watch your back, Sis. You are quite so trusting to the point that you put down your guard. For someone who is quite hard and impenetrable in terms of surprises, it seems that you have rusted a lot. What a pity, I would have made sure you fight me in equal standing like before...But I guess you don’t amount to much. You have grown weaker, Sis... Or perhaps I have gotten stronger?" Julia started laughing like a maniac as she pulls out the knife from Elaina’s back, which caused the blood to spurt out.
"Mom!" Arthur quickly attended to Elaina, who is coughing blood and is having difficulty breathing, with blood flowing out of her mouth every time she speaks.
"Aaaaaah! What have you done, Sis Julia!?" In a fit of rage, Adelaide pulls out her twin daggers and tries to attack Julia.
Julia, who is still grinning from her successful stab on Elaina, raise her left hand and flicks Adelaide so hard that, the moment she rushed in front, the single movement of Julia’s finger caused Adelaide to fly straight to the fields, crashing a few times before ultimately stopping at the trunk of the great tree. Her left eye was bleeding after hitting a nearby rock after she got sent flying.
This resulted in everyone in the vicinity panicking and running away.
Arthur is not sure what he should do with his mother breathing heavily in his arms. He looked up and saw Julia grinning at him. He felt helpless while the one who caused all of this is looking at him sinisterly.

Julia, who was grinning, suddenly got bound with multiple vines growing out of nowhere, and binding her arms and legs. Aside from that, various violet rings appear on her body which suddenly tightened in her whole body.
"Oh?" Julia looked surprised as she looked at the surroundings to see who among the guests was casting the spells to bind her.
Before her were the Harvest Goddess and the local witch, Yona.
"What are you doing now, Julia?!" Yona frowned with a grit in her teeth.
The Harvest Goddess shook her head. "No, that is an impostor. That’s not Julia."
Julia? heard the Harvest Goddess and started laughing loudly. "HAHAHAHA! Oh my! I didn’t expect a lesser goddess is present here. My sister really did make a lot of big shots her friends, eh? Sadly, this isn’t enough to stop me."
In one swift move, all of the bindings that are currently stopping her are cut to pieces. Touching her face, Julia? grins. "Looks like this disguise is no longer necessary then!"
Moving her palm through her face, the previous face of Julia fades away and is replaced by a familiar-looking face. Someone who plagues Elaina and everyone else.
"It’s been a long time, humans."
