Chapter 1949: Chapter 474: The Price of the Spell—Growing Old Slowly (Part 5)
As soon as she walked out, she was entangled by someone. She hadn’t expected a handsome man, but instead a bolt from the blue.
Yun Ya raised her hand and tucked her loose hair beside her temple, her every move exuding inexhaustible charm and nobility, dazzling and mesmerizing, which deeply provoked Gan Wei’er when she saw several consecutive red marks on Yun Ya’s neck.
Her heart was full of unwillingness and jealousy. In the end, she had only met Lorde twice, and her feelings for him couldn’t be that deep, but this man was undoubtedly a top choice in every way for marriage. Although Country Bauhinia was good, it was ultimately too small a world. She wanted to experience the outside world, so Lorde was the man she must tightly cling to. Yet now the scheme had failed and instead completed her least favorite woman. The thought of her marrying Lorde made her heart go mad with jealousy.
However, she quickly calmed down and smiled with no trace of emotion, "In that case, I’ll take my leave first, goodbye."
Turning around and leaving in a hurry, her nails dug holes in her palm, she planned to return and strategize again.
Yun Ya watched Gan Wei’er’s staggering figure leave with a smile. She recalled the little actions of Gan Wei’er at the dinner table, which might have been hidden from Lorde but couldn’t escape her eyes.
And couldn’t possibly escape Ji Lanyi’s eyes either, everyone was likely just a pawn in her eyes.
Yun Ya returned to her room, and the night passed without disturbances. It seemed they were giving her time to rest, fearing she was too tired, Yun Ya thought with a hint of sarcasm.
Zhang Huasheng released her from confinement, delivered medicine, and left, giving Yun Ya a meaningful look before departing for her to ponder over.
"Brother Yan, are you here?" Yun Ya scanned the room and asked cautiously.
A shadow suddenly appeared, and Yun Ya’s face lit up with joy. She rushed over and nestled into his embrace, "You’ll always stay with me, won’t you?"
Taking a deep breath, the familiar scent from him put her at ease, and her restless heart finally calmed down.
"Yes." Yan Song hugged her by the waist, feeling she was so light she seemed weightless, his heart filled with affection as he lowered his gaze to look at the obedient girl nestled in his arms, his lips curved into a soft smile, "I’ll never leave you again."
Yun Ya looked at him intently, her fingertips brushing over his features, murmuring, "Brother Yan, your smile is so beautiful, from now on, you can only smile for me." If he were to charm other girls, she would get jealous.
Yan Song couldn’t help but laugh bitterly, agreeing, "Okay, from now on, I’ll only smile for you."
Yun Ya beamed with joy and burrowed into his embrace like a kitten.
Lying on the bed together, Yun Ya recounted everything that had happened since they parted, with Yan Song patiently listening throughout. Toward the end, Yun Ya was sobbing uncontrollably, and Yan Song kissed away her tears, feeling heartache every time she cried.
"I saw Miaomiao." Yan Song initially didn’t want to tell her about Miaomiao, worried Yun Ya would be anxious, but after thinking about it, he decided he should inform her.
Sure enough, Yun Ya stopped crying and grabbed his sleeve excitedly, "Where is he?"
Seeing Yun Ya so concerned and agitated, Yan Song felt a bit uneasy. Besides him, there was another man in the world for whom she worried dearly, even though he was her brother. It still made him feel uncomfortable.
Though a flood of thoughts ran through his mind, his face showed no sign of it. With a smile, he said, "Just last night, he was with Helian Mingyue. Not only has he become smart, but he can speak now, no doubt he appears perfectly normal. Don’t worry about him; he’s doing well."
"Can I see him now?" Yun Ya’s heart clenched at the thought of Miaomiao, impatiently wanting to see him.
Yan Song stroked her head, "He’s already gone."
Yun Ya’s eyes drooped in disappointment, "Why didn’t he come to see me?"
"Now isn’t the right time to meet. He wants to see you at his best, just wait a little longer."
Worried about Miaomiao, Yun Ya tossed and turned, sometimes furrowing her brow in thought. It was better not knowing his whereabouts, but once aware, she couldn’t stop worrying.
Yan Song hugged her close, whispering in her ear, "Don’t overthink it, sleep now."
"But I’m too excited to sleep." Yun Ya’s eyes showed no sign of fatigue, shining brightly.
With resignation, Yan Song offered, "Shall I take you out for a walk?"
Yun Ya immediately perked up, "Yes, yes..."
Unknowingly, Brother Yan had become so skillful, as Yun Ya watched him navigate through the night, his handsome face cold and resolute, her heart filled with a mix of loss yet quickly excitedly smiled, "It’s so fun, I want to go to the beach."
