Chapter 336: Spare him!
Daniel.
I didn’t want to turn around.
Every instinct inside me screamed at me to keep walking, to pretend I hadn’t heard the command, to avoid whatever awaited me behind my back. A strange sense of dread had settled heavily in my chest, making it difficult to breathe properly.
But I had no choice.
No matter how reluctant I was, ignoring the Lycan prince would be seen as a sign of disrespect. And disrespect toward someone of his status was not something I could afford.
Slowly, I stopped moving.
My feet felt unusually heavy, as though invisible chains had wrapped themselves around my ankles.
Taking a deep breath that did little to calm my nerves, I turned around very slowly.
The moment I did, my eyes met a pair of dark, unreadable eyes.
The silvery mask covering most of the Lycan prince’s face concealed his expression, but it did nothing to hide the coldness radiating from his gaze.
Those eyes were enough—enough to make my heartbeat stumble, enough to send a chill crawling down my spine.
For a brief moment, neither of us spoke.
"Seize him."
The order rang out sharply.
Before I could even process his words, several omegas standing nearby rushed forward.
Strong hands grabbed my arms from both sides.
My entire body stiffened in shock.
"What—"
The words died in my throat.
I stared at them in complete confusion as they tightened their hold on me, making it impossible to pull away.
What’s going on?
My mind raced desperately.
I had merely asked a question.
A simple question and nothing more.
So why was he reacting like this?
Why did it feel as though I had committed some unforgivable crime?
My heart began pounding violently against my ribs.
The Lycan prince looked at me for a long moment before speaking again.
"Alpha Daniel, you have to forgive me, but if I don’t discipline you now, others will dare to question me in the future." He said, with his voice too calm.
The kind of calmness that frightened people more than shouting ever could.
As he spoke, he slowly brought his hands together, allow it to collide with one another softly..
Clap.
The sound echoed through the air.
Clap.
Another measured clap followed.
Each one seemed to strike directly against my nerves.
Then he stopped, and a terrifying silence followed immediately.
My chest rose and fell rapidly, fear coiled tightly around my heart.
That brief pause felt endless.
Every second stretched unbearably long as I stared at him, trying to guess what was coming next. Trying to understand what punishment could possibly justify all this.
My palms grew damp, and my stomach twisted painfully.
The uncertainty was torture on its own.
What was he about to do?
The Lycan prince suddenly scoffed.
The sound was soft, yet it carried an edge of mockery that made my skin crawl.
And in that moment, I became certain of something.
There was more to this, much more, because all this couldn’t simply be about the question I had asked.
No.
Something else was hiding beneath this sudden anger, something I couldn’t see and something I couldn’t understand.
Then the Lycan prince finally spoke again.
"Torture him."
The words hit me like a physical blow.
My entire body trembled.
A wave of cold fear washed through me so violently that I nearly lost feeling in my legs.
Torture.
I knew exactly what that meant.
I had seen it before.
Once, I had been granted permission to enter his territory dungeon. I had watched prisoners and captured spies dragged into those dark chambers.
I had heard their screams, heard their desperate pleas for mercy and watched strong men break under unbearable pain.
The memories flooded back instantly, making my blood run cold and now...that fate was being handed to me.
I swallowed hard.
My throat felt painfully dry.
I wasn’t sure I could endure what awaited me.
I was an Alpha, whether people would acknowledged my bloodline or not, I still carried the title.
Wasn’t his action going too far?
Wasn’t this excessive?
The thought barely formed before I crushed it.
What was I even thinking?
The bitter reality settled heavily over me—none of that mattered especially not here because the man standing before me wasn’t just another Alpha.
He was the Lycan prince.
And against his authority, my status meant absolutely nothing.
I opened my mouth immediately.
My mind was spinning in panic, desperately searching for the right words—Anything that could make sense, any explanation, any apology or any plea that might make the Lycan prince reconsider his decision.
The thought of being dragged into the dungeon made my blood run cold. Fear wrapped itself tightly around my chest, making it difficult to breathe.
"Lycan Prince, I—"
But before I could finish speaking, before I could even complete the sentence forming on my tongue, a voice suddenly echoed across the room.
"Spare him!"
The words cut through the tense atmosphere like a blade.
My entire body froze.
The voice was too familiar.
My heart skipped a beat as I instinctively turned toward the source.
The moment I saw her, my suspicions were confirmed.
It was Galen.
A mixture of shock and disbelief flashed through me.
What was she doing here?
My gaze swept over her figure.
Something about her appearance immediately felt off, as she looked exhausted.
No.
More than exhausted.
Her clothes were slightly disheveled, and there was a faint weariness in her movements, as though every step required effort.
It almost looked as if she had been through some kind of battle before arriving here.
Yet despite that, she stood tall, her back was straight, her chin was raised and there wasn’t a trace of hesitation in her eyes.
"Galen!" I called out immediately.
Relief and worry crashed into me at the same time. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
The relief came from seeing her.
The worry came from realizing exactly what she was trying to do.
"Stay out of this!" I added quickly, my voice coming out sharper than I intended.
But I didn’t care if she got angry, I didn’t care if she misunderstood me....I just wanted her away from this situation....and so far away from the Lycan prince’s wrath.
Sure, Galen loved pestering me, she was stubborn, annoying and always finding new ways to get under my skin.
But despite all that, I couldn’t bear the thought of her getting dragged into this, and especially not because of me.
The Lycan prince was already furious.
Who knew what he might do if someone openly challenged his authority?
What if he decided to punish her too?
The mere thought made my stomach tighten.
And Galen....She was a lady, although she could be tough and had dared to go on a mission with me to the Moon bridge pack, she didn’t belong in the middle of something this dangerous.
But as usual, Galen ignored every single word I said. It was as though I hadn’t spoken at all.
Without sparing me a glance, she walked forward.
One step and then another. Each step carried an unbelievable amount of confidence.
The room seemed to grow quieter with every movement she made. Even the omegas holding me appeared uncertain, and strangely enough, they didn’t act.
Yet Galen never slowed down and never hesitated. When she finally stopped before the Lycan prince, her expression remained unwavering.
"Spare him," she repeated firmly, but this time her voice wasn’t loud, yet somehow, it carried throughout the entire room.
My heart clenched painfully.
Why was she doing this?
Didn’t she understand the danger?
The Lycan prince’s dark gaze settled on her.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then, slowly, he rose to his feet, the movement was calm, controlled, yet somehow terrifying from my own perspective.
"And do you know his offense, Galen?" he asked, his voice smooth and unreadable.
But Galen didn’t back down, not even slightly. And it made me wonder if she had a death wish.
"Whatever it is," she replied, her tone growing even firmer, "allow me to discipline him my own way."
My eyes widened.
My heart nearly stopped.
Was she serious?
Didn’t she realize who she was speaking to?
Didn’t she understand how vicious the Lycan prince could be when angered?
Fear rushed through me once more.
"Please don’t mind her words, Lycan Prince," I said immediately, the words tumbling out in a hurry. "She shouldn’t be involved."
I couldn’t hide the desperation in my voice, as I was terrified, not just for myself anymore but for her. I really didn’t care what happened to me right now....I am sure I could manage.
But Galen—I couldn’t watch her suffer because of my mistakes.
The room fell silent again.
Then the Lycan prince clicked his tongue softly.
The sound echoed through the room, making my pulse quicken.
A strange smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Interesting," he muttered.
The single word sent another wave of unease through me.
My heart sank.
Interesting?
What did he mean by that?
My gaze darted nervously between him and Galen.
A knot formed in my stomach.
Would he punish her?
Or worse...Would his anger now extend to both of us?
