Chapter 13: Chapter 13 — Aunt Suna. (2)
Following his memories, Kael made his way deeper into the house.
In one corner of the room sat a boy with messy black hair, quietly peeling fruit with a small knife.
"Hey there," Kael greeted, hoping to sound natural.
Deep down, he had a feeling that ending up at this particular house wasn’t entirely his own decision.
Perhaps Kael’s lingering memories had subconsciously guided his feet here.
The boy looked up.
His previously blank expression immediately transformed into a broad smile.
"Kael!"
He quickly set the fruit aside.
"Come over here, brother. Sit with me."
Kael smiled back and sat beside him.
The moment he did, he felt an odd sense of familiarity.
Whether it came from Kael’s memories or his lingering emotions, Kael couldn’t tell.
One thing was certain.
Kael and Kyro had shared an incredibly close bond.
Kyro looked him up and down before letting out a relieved sigh.
"So you’re really alright now?"
He scratched the back of his head.
"Damn... you scared me that day. When I came to visit you after the accident, I honestly thought..."
His voice trailed off.
Kael smiled reassuringly.
"I’m fine now."
He let out a small laugh.
"In fact, I’ve never felt better."
Kyro snorted.
"Good. Because now you’re going to tell me what really happened."
His expression suddenly hardened.
"Our parents believed the chief’s family’s story."
Kael remained silent.
"But you and I both know those bullies."
Kyro clenched his fists.
"They definitely did something to you."
The concern and anger in his voice weren’t forced.
He genuinely cared.
Seeing that sincerity warmed Kael’s heart.
"So they really were as close as brothers..." he thought.
For a brief moment, guilt crept into his mind.
The real Kael was gone.
Only Kael remained.
Still, he silently made himself a promise.
"Since I’ve inherited this body... I’ll do my best to protect the people Kael cared about."
It wasn’t something he owed anyone.
But somehow...
It felt like the right thing to do.
"I knew you’d ask."
Kael let out a quiet sigh before continuing. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"It was that bastard Jim and his gang again. They cornered me near the riverside and shoved me down the slope. I hit my head on a rock while tumbling down."
He paused for a moment before adding,
"They must have panicked after seeing how badly I was hurt. Afraid they had gone too far, they carried me to the medical hall for treatment before informing everyone what had happened."
Everything he had just said was based on the memories he had inherited and what Amber had told him after he woke up.
Kyro clenched his fists.
"I knew it."
His voice was filled with frustration.
"They’ve been picking on us ever since we were little. Even now, after awakening their magic two years ago, they still go out of their way to bully us."
He looked at Kael seriously.
"Did you tell your family the truth?"
Kael slowly shook his head.
"No."
Kyro frowned.
"Why not?"
Kael leaned back and let out a weary breath.
"There’s no point in dragging my family into this."
Even if they confronted the town’s authorities, what would really happen?
Jim’s family held influence within Korua Town.
At most, Jim would receive a light scolding before everything returned to normal.
Nothing would truly change.
"I don’t want my family worrying over something they can’t solve."
Kyro remained silent for several moments before nodding reluctantly.
"...I guess you’re right."
A determined smile suddenly appeared on Kael’s face.
"But that doesn’t mean I’m going to let it go."
Kyro looked at him in surprise.
"I’ve made up my mind."
Kael’s emerald eyes shone with determination.
"I’m going to awaken my magic."
"I’m going to train harder than anyone else."
"And one day, I’ll become strong enough that neither Jim nor anyone else will ever be able to bully us again."
For a brief moment, the room fell silent.
Kyro stared at him with wide eyes.
This wasn’t the timid Kael he had known before the accident.
Something had changed.
His cousin seemed calmer.
More mature.
More determined.
Yet instead of feeling uneasy, Kyro felt a spark of hope ignite within his chest.
A person’s magical affinity was influenced largely by their family’s lineage, making it difficult for ordinary villagers to become truly powerful.
Even so, history was filled with stories of exceptional individuals who had risen from humble beginnings through relentless effort and unwavering determination.
Perhaps...
Just perhaps...
The person sitting beside him could become one of those legends someday.
At that moment, Aunt Suna strolled into the room.
She was entirely unclad, her skin glistening with a faint, dewy sheen that caught the light, and she carried five Virgo fruits—bright green, banana-shaped delicacies—in her hands.
She moved with an effortless, languid grace, completely unbothered by her state of undress as she placed the fruit on the low table in front of them.
Kael’s gaze was drawn immediately to the deep, heavy swell of her breasts, where her nipples stood out, firm and erect against the cool air.
The air in the room seemed to thicken, charged with a heavy, unspoken sensuality that made his breath catch.
"Kyro, can you be kind enough to peel these for me?" Suna asked, her voice a low, sweet tone.
"Of course, Mother. I’ll get to them as soon as I finish chopping these," Kyro replied, his focus remaining on his task of slicing the purple-skinned Tura fruits.
Suna leaned over, pressing a lingering, affectionate kiss to Kyro’s cheek.
Then, seemingly intent on not playing favorites, she turned to Kael and pressed a warm, soft kiss to his cheek as well, her skin smelling of sweet jasmine and something muskier, more primal, it was her sweat.
Without another word, she turned and glided toward the bathroom to rinse off, her hips swaying with a slow, hypnotic rhythm.
Kael watched her go, his mind racing. "Hey, brother," he began, trying to keep his tone casual despite his thoughts, "how is Uncle Ryder doing?"
Kyro’s expression dimmed slightly. "Uncle Ryder? You know he passed away last season, Kael. It’s been hard on all of us."
Kael felt a jolt of realization. He remembered now—his uncle had been a source of genuine joy for them, always doting on them and bringing treats, a stark contrast to the strictness he associated with the rest of his family. The weight of the loss hung in the air for a moment.
"Right," Kael said, quickly steering the conversation to cover his lapse in memory.
"I’m sorry. My head is still so muddled from the injury, and I find myself forgetting simple facts. I hope you can endure my silly questions for a little longer."
"Don’t worry about it, brother," Kyro replied, his expression softening with genuine concern. "I’m always here for you. I know how rough things have been for you lately. You’ve been through a lot."
