Chapter 102: School Trip Commences

"Hey, Hajime... did he just say that he’s... Mizunari Keiichi?" Shinji asked Hajime in a low tone. "He did, right?"

"Yeah, why?" Hajime asked, wondering why the name was somewhat familiar. In the back of his mind, something warned him about the new character that had transferred to the school. His identity wasn’t normal at all, and based on Shinji’s question, he could surmise that such was the case.

"Mizunari Keiichi... I’m sure I’ve heard that name somewhere before." Shinji muttered but he brushed off the topic and continued reading the novel on hand. "Isn’t he like... related to the Mizunari Company?" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Yesterday, Mizunari Keiichi appeared out of nowhere, telling everyone that he had just transferred. Hajime also confirmed with Akamine-sensei that Keiichi indeed transferred, earlier that month but he had personal issues to take care of and that’s why his attendance was pushed to a later date. Even still, it was weird that he transferred right in the middle of a school trip, not to mention that the summer break is bound to happen soon.

"Why are you looking at my novel?" Shinji curiously asked upon seeing Hajime lost in his thoughts while staring at the novel he was reading. "If you wanna read it then I guess I can lend it to you. After I finish reading it, of course."

"What?! No! There’s no way I’d read something like that." Hajime flat-out denied his offer. The cover of the novel may look noble, but Hajime knew that the contents of the novel were nothing but dignified.

"Really? The plot’s really good though." Shinji said with a straight face.

’How could you say that with a straight face?!’ Hajime said in his mind but instead of saying it out loud, he only cleared his throat and looked away.

A few minutes later, Mizunari Keiichi reentered the room after his conversation over the phone ended. He greeted Hajime and Shinji amicably and he received a casual greeting in return. Not knowing what to do next since there was still half an hour or so before the school trip commences, Keiichi decided to seat himself beside Hajime, wondering what he was doing, sitting all silent and serious like that.

"What are you thinking about?" Keiichi asked, nudging Hajime on the shoulder.

"Nothing much." Hajime calmly responded. Since Keiichi’s identity was still under his scrutiny, he decided to act passive, and then once he had a clear gauge of his actual identity, then he could put his best foot forward. Right now though, Hajime was still unsure if he should put his guard down on this guy or not. For now, he opted to be warier of him.

Half an hour passed, and Kichiro and Shoichi finally got back, instructing the other three to gather around so they could head outside where the bus would be waiting for them.

Meanwhile, Keiichi was on the same page as Hajime. He had heard rumors about him even before he transferred and what could he say but admit that Hajime was an interesting fellow? He was deemed a delinquent in school, wouldn’t attend his morning classes, and even go as far as to antagonize a bunch of college students. Those were just rumors anyways but Keiichi half believed them. After all, rumors wouldn’t exist if there aren’t any basis for them.

So just like Hajime, Keiichi also put his guard up in front of Hajime, but then again, he wasn’t wary of him.

Of course, as the son of the owner of the Mizunari Company, it was normal for him to run background checks on his potential classmates. And while he found a couple of inconsistencies in Hajime’s file, he knew that he didn’t have any parents, and adding to that, he was dirt poor. ’There’s no way he could pose a threat. If any, he’d be one of the most reliable friends I could get if I could wrap him around my little finger. I mean, he’d basically beg to be my friend if he knew I’m rich, right? Besides, he needs as much money as he could with her sister in a coma and all.’

A smirk appeared on Keiichi’s face as he briefly glanced at Hajime. At the same time, Akamine-sense finally appeared to address her class. She could tell that a lot of the students were murmuring at each other, wondering why there was a new face in the group. Even Hajime wasn’t oblivious to the stares that everyone directed at Keiichi. He was a little on the good-looking side after all, but Hajime could easily match his appearance had he taken more proper care of his semi-long hair.

Introductions were due, to say the least, and Akamine-sensei didn’t waste any time introducing Mizunari Keiichi to the group. Keiichi saw it as the cue to say something about himself and so he went in front, just beside Akamine-sensei, and told everyone to take care of him, that he was looking forward to the school year ahead of him yada yada~ saying all the generic things an ’ikemen’ would say in his introduction.

After the introduction, murmurs could still be heard, mainly from the guys who felt a modicum of jealousy towards the good-looking rich guy who’s apparently the new transfer student in school. Even though Kichiro and the others in the group couldn’t care less, the other guys simply couldn’t accept the fact.

As for the girls, well, some of them could very well have hearts as their pupils. They were looking at Keiichi as if he was some sort of fine specimen as if he was the most handsome guy in the world. Their flirtatious gestures and their light squeals couldn’t display their thoughts any clearer. It was obvious that some of them were letting their hormones get the better of them.

In retrospect though, had it been a female transfer student, then the reaction would’ve been flipped. It was that easy.

"The tour will last the entire day so make sure that you didn’t forget anything." Akamine-sensei reminded everyone before handing Hajime the attendance list for the second time. She smiled, ruffling Hajime’s head before asking him for the favor. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"Really now?" Hajime heaved a sigh as he took his usual spot by the side of the bus, taking everyone’s attendance while they boarded the bus.
