Chapter 658: Elder

"It’s a secret, you’ll find out when we get there." Yin Yang pinched his son’s nose and carried him over to the main room, where the food was already set out.

The cook’s food here is still quite good, not as good as Madam Chun’s, but better than most, comparable to those chefs in restaurants.

The little guy was quite adaptable, which Xu Mumu had already noticed. Her son wasn’t picky, he would eat whatever was given to him, although if it tasted better, he couldn’t help but eat more.

After lunch, Xu Mumu and Yin Yang didn’t plan to go out immediately, so they took the little guy to explore the entire four-hectare courtyard. Since they would be visiting often in the future, they needed to be familiar with their home.

The little guy probably really liked the traditional style of the courtyard, filling him with curiosity about everything here.

"Mom, this place is so beautiful, I like it here. Can we come here often to play?" The little guy looked at Xu Mumu expectantly.

"Of course, that’s no problem at all." Xu Mumu nodded with a smile. Now that the transportation is convenient, it’s just a bit over three hours by plane to the Imperial City, they can come over often to play in the future.

The little guy was delighted and started jumping around when Xu Mumu agreed. He thought their house was beautiful and wanted to show it off to his uncle, feeling the need to boast.

"Mom, I want to call Uncle." The little rascal hugged Xu Mumu’s leg, looking at her hopefully.

"Your uncle is still at school, call him in the evening." Xu Mumu said helplessly.

"Okay then." Unable to share the good news with his uncle immediately, the little guy’s mood dropped significantly.

"All right, let’s take you out to play." Xu Mumu pinched his cheeks with a loving smile. Whenever she saw his gloomy face, she couldn’t resist giving his little cheeks a squeeze.

"We still get to go out? I thought we’d just explore at home?" The little rascal was a bit surprised.

"Of course not, we’re taking you somewhere else, somewhere I used to visit often." Xu Mumu said gently.

"What place is that? Dad wouldn’t tell me." The little guy was filled with curiosity.

"It’s a laboratory. I used to spend a lot of time there, and the house we used to live in is next to it." Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"Is that place nice?" The little guy asked curiously.

"Yes, I liked it quite a bit. Your dad picked the house, it’s a very quiet location, a different style from here, though it’s rented out now." Xu Mumu smiled as she spoke.

Holding the little guy’s hand, the family of three headed towards the laboratory. It wasn’t far, so Yin Yang decided not to drive, leaving the bodyguards at home.

Everything in the Imperial City was new to the little guy, yet he was very curious about it. This was where mom and dad used to live and where his uncles and aunts went to school now, which seemed fascinating. To him, this place was special.

The Imperial City was more bustling than Shengjiang, possibly because of her contributions and the technologies she donated, which had accelerated the development of science and technology. The current Imperial City was nothing like the city in the old photos from history books, definitely not what it looked like in the 1980s.

Cars drove everywhere, and the streets were bustling, with tall buildings under construction everywhere. Although not as many as in later eras, it was quite developed for the 1980s.

The country’s development was faster than history recorded, which was definitely a good thing.

Xu Mumu and Yin Yang brought the little guy to the laboratory. This laboratory had been expanded by quite a bit thanks to Yin Yang, and with more students coming and going, the people guarding the place were naturally Yin Yang’s men.

Upon seeing Yin Yang and Xu Mumu arrive, a man quickly came forward to greet them.

"Young Master, Madam, Young Master." The old man looked at the family with a smile.

"Sir Yuan, hope you’re well." Yin Yang greeted with a smile; this was an old man who had followed Old Mr. Yin.

This elderly man was bored at home, and his children were all grown and didn’t live with him, so he asked Yin Yang for a job. He ended up taking care of the lab building, working as the gatekeeper.

The old man was quite content here, as Yin Yang respected him, and everyone else treated him kindly.

"Thanks to Young Master, I’m doing well. I’ve heard a lot about how adorable Young Master Doudou is." Sir Yuan looked at Doudou with a gentle smile.

With such a kind gaze, he almost melted the little guy.

But the little guy wasn’t scared at all and let the old man examine him, also being quite curious about him.

"Call him Sir Yuan," Yin Yang said gently.

"Hello, Sir Yuan," the little guy said very obediently.

"Excellent, the Yin Family has successors, I can die without regrets now." Sir Yuan chuckled.

"Don’t say such things, you need to live to be a hundred." Yin Yang looked at Sir Yuan with disapproval.

"Living that long sounds exhausting." Sir Yuan laughed carelessly. He had long since come to terms with life and death. "Young Master, are you here for a visit?"

"Yes, Doudou hasn’t been here before, we wanted to show him around." Yin Yang nodded.

"Then I’ll leave you to your visit, Young Master."

"Yes, I’ll have someone pick you up for dinner tonight. We haven’t had a meal together in a while." Yin Yang earnestly suggested to Sir Yuan before leaving.

"Great, it’s been a while since we caught up properly, Young Master." Sir Yuan replied with a pleased smile.

The two of them walked with Doudou through the lab building. The students passing by were probably familiar, while Xu Mumu and her family drew attention as newcomers.

The lab equipment here was relatively new, with more teachers and students frequenting the place.

Since Xu Mumu left the Imperial City, she had handed over the lab’s responsibilities to Yin Yang. Those who came to this building were mostly professors or graduate students from Hua University.

Xu Mumu showed the little guy all the familiar things here.

The little guy knew about the lab, but this one wasn’t as big as the village lab, and the equipment wasn’t as new.

However, there were many people here, all of whom seemed highly skilled, which filled the little guy with curiosity as he looked around.

"The great-grandpas said they’ll take me to the lab when I’m a bit older." The little guy said with a smile, thinking he’ll be like them someday.

"Labs aren’t a place to play," Xu Mumu said with a twitch at the corner of her mouth. It’s such a serious place, yet Professor Song and the others really indulged this child.
