Chapter 22: New item

After killing an Orc, an announcement appeared. This time, however, Vyral noticed something different.

[You have slain a Clone Orc Lv.4]

Vyral could kill these Orcs much more easily than the ones before. He wasn’t the only one who noticed it – the NPCs did as well. However, since they weren’t players, they couldn’t see the system notifications. To them, it simply felt like the Orcs had become weaker.

’’Damn it!’’ an NPC yelled in frustration after fighting countless Orcs. He accidentally let his guard down for a moment.

An Orc immediately seized the opportunity and charged at him with a precise, brutal attack. Luckily for the NPC, Vyral was standing nearby and deflected the blow.

’’Thank you,’’ the NPC said in a weary voice.

Vyral simply nodded before glancing around, searching for anything unusual.

A minute later, Vyral finally spotted an Orc standing outside the battle. It seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the fight, watching from afar while chuckling to itself.

Vyral shouted loudly.

’’Hold them off!!’’

Richard, who was fighting nearby, simply nodded helplessly. They had no choice but to support Vyral.

He gestured for the other NPCs to cover him. Meanwhile, Vyral charged toward the Orc that was hiding behind the battle like a coward.

He pushed through the Clone Orcs before finally reaching it. He activated all his skills, yet the Orc effortlessly dodged every strike while counterattacking with a vicious kick to Vyral’s abdomen.

Vyral staggered backward, using his sword for support. He gasped for breath as he fixed the Orc with a cold stare.

He didn’t understand how he had been kicked so easily, but then he clicked his tongue.

His stamina had been heavily drained since the battle began, while this bastard had been standing outside the fight the entire time with its stamina fully intact.

Vyral clenched his teeth and opened the list of basic evolutions, pouring all the Mystic Energy he had earned throughout the battle into it.

’’Do it!’’

[Hypoxia Adaptation Lv.1] → [Hypoxia Adaptation Lv.max] – 7 Mystic Energy

+5 Stamina Point

[Cardiac Overdrive Lv.1] → [Cardiac Overdrive Lv.max] – 6 Mystic Energy

+7 Stamina Point

[Breathing Efficiency Boost Lv.1] – [Breathing Efficiency Boost Lv.max] – 7 Mystic Enegry

+9 Stamina Point

[The coordination between the basic evolutions has been established.]

+15 Stamina Point

His gasping breaths gradually faded. His eyes became more focused than ever.

Vyral launched himself into the air and attacked the Orc.

He spun around, his blade carving through the monster and leaving countless bloody gashes across its body.

In the final movement of the deadly dance, he drew a deep breath and coldly activated [Thrust], his sword piercing straight through the Orc’s chest and leaving a gaping hole behind.

He won.

[You have slain an Orc Lv.4]

[+15 XP]

[+2 Mystic Energy]

Vyral collapsed from exhaustion. Fortunately, everything eventually came to an end.

[Congratulations! You’ve completed Richard’s mission.]

[Richard has acknowledged you as a worthy rival in love.]

[+100 XP]

[You have received an item from an Orc.]

[[Replication Cube (Lv. 1 Requirement) | Blue Grade | Durability: 56%] acquired.]

[Description:] The cube continuously releases up to five clones, each possessing 1/10 of the user’s power. Whenever a clone dies, a new one will be created to replace it, maintaining the limit of five active clones. However, the user needs 1 hour to construct a mana formation in a fixed location.

Vyral stared at the old cube in his palm in surprise.

’’Not bad. But this looks more like something meant for traps. Besides, at my current level, those clones won’t be able to do much.’’

Vyral sighed and returned to the Adventurer Guild with the NPCs to confirm the mission. After receiving 500 copper coins, he was about to log out when a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

’’Uhmmm... Seems I was wrong. There are a few opponents my clones can deal with.’’

The answer was the undead monsters.

Without hesitation, he headed toward the Undead Cemetery.

After the moon rose, most of the players and NPCs quickly left the area. No one wanted to stay there any longer because this was when the monsters appeared in the greatest numbers, almost endlessly. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Vyral stared at the undead emerging from the ground for a second before activating the Replication Cube.

Five clones of Vyral materialized out of thin air, then immediately split up and charged at the undead.

A smile spread across his lips as his plan finally succeeded. His clones were fully capable of killing the undead. Moreover, thanks to the cube continuously absorbing mana from the air, it relentlessly created new clones whenever one was destroyed. And, on top of that, he could gain Mystic Energy as his clones killed monsters.

He glanced at the mana formation, built into the ground nearby. It could last for at least three days, which meant he could leisurely leave this place from now on.

’’Three days...’’

Vyral watched the clones with calculating eyes.

At this rate, his clones could kill around 500 undead in a single night. Then, after the sun rose and the number of undead decreased, they could probably kill another 180 or so.

That would be a total of 680 undead per day.

’’What the hell? Does that mean I’ll earn around 68 Mystic Energy in a single day?’’

He added with an excited voice,

’’With the Earring of the Sun, that’s another 10.08 per day. I’ll have 78.08 Mystic Energy in total in a single day. And in three days, I’ll earn 234.24 Mystic Energy.’’

Excellent.

He had wanted to buy a lot of things from the list of available evolutions, but due to his limited Mystic Energy, he had always given up. Now, however, he could buy everything.

Vyral thought for a moment and immediately headed toward the Academy at Twilight. He needed to scout around, gather information, and most importantly, find Arthea before the entrance exam began.
