Chapter 2: Primordial Evolver (Mythical)
Vyral slowly opened his eyes, then shot up, finding himself in a pitch-black dungeon. He didn’t even know when he had lost consciousness. Everything felt like it had happened in the blink of an eye.
A metallic smell drifted through the cave’s stale air, instantly filling his nose.
The level of realism in the game surprised him for a few seconds.
He muttered.
"Grak-grak."
His expression twisted in the darkness after hearing his own voice. He began to realize his vocal cord structure was no longer human, but that of a goblin. Moreover, a human couldn’t see things so clearly in the dark, but now he could. So, this must be one of the abilities of his new race.
He stared at his calloused hands and naked body for a second... green skin resembling an unripe banana and a body barely around one meter tall. He ran his hand over the ribs beneath his almost nonexistent skin up to the top of his nearly bald head, where a tuft of long hair stuck out.
Vyral spoke in a sad voice (the language of goblins)
"At least I’m not entirely bald."
Suddenly, a catchy sound rang out.
Ting!

Vyral’s eyes went wide in shock as he gazed at the system screen.
’’Primordial Evolver? Mythical?’’ Vyral stammered.
He thought the earlier announcement was just some kind of hallucination his brain created to comfort himself, but it turned out to be real.
He never thought he would awaken the Class again, as it had been predetermined from the very beginning, only to be revealed when the game system activated.
He had some idea of what Primordial Evolver meant, and it definitely wasn’t a weak class. Sure, it was practically self-explanatory.
Through this body’s memory, Mythical race had never existed before. Ancient races were the highest; they were only found among a small number of exceptional individuals within powerful organizations.
Not only that, those Ancient races were deeply carved into their genetic code and could be passed down through generations, creating a closed, exclusive circle.
And a lowly scavenger with a genetic code as poor as Vyral’s possessing a Mythical race – something that had never appeared in recorded history, it had to be a deliberate scam targeting him.

[Description]: You are the Apostle of the Chaotic Deity, destined to bring an end to the endless conflicts among all factions. By wielding the power of chaos, you can extract the mystical energy of every being you kill and use it to evolve yourself.
Luke rubbed his chin thoroughly.
"Interesting... Hopefully, it’s not some kind of scam...."
He was an Apostle of the Chaotic Deity – a noble title for the luckiest players, those chosen by it. They would be blessed with superpowers capable of shaking the world... but Vyral had never even heard of his deity. freeweɓnøvel.com
In the world of The Rise of King Arthur, there were many Deities, and the Chaotic Deity was not one of them.
He thought it was just an error, or perhaps a forgotten Deity the developers had created to add depth to the game.
’’Sure, a Deity that’s been forgotten must be useless.’’
Right then, a sound rang out, breaking his train of thought.
[Welcome to the The Rise of King Arthur in the Apocalypse game, player.]
[Game introduction]: The Rise of King Arthur in the Apocalypse game was produced in collaboration with 20 member corporations and officially launched at 8:00 PM, October 1, 2252. The game takes place in an open fantasy world where various races lived together, a mystical land hiding countless mysteries and conflicts.
Vyral frowned in confusion at the system’s brief greeting. He fell silent for a moment.
"2252... and now it’s 2552... I’ve never seen a game this old before."
Ting!
[Enter Opening Dungeon 2302892B01]
[Difficulty Rating: Hell]
Speechless, Vyral gazed at the screen in front of him. He had never thought the opening dungeon would be at Hell difficulty level.
Only genius, lucky individuals have the capability to complete the Hell difficulty level of the dungeon. To him, a scavenger would probably die as soon as the first stage of the dungeon began – the fate of a background character.
In short, his chances of completing the dungeon were quite abysmal.
"Goddamnit!" Vyral cursed under his breath.
Though he didn’t dwell on that discomfort for long. He was sharp enough to know that unnecessary emotions would only hold him back at such a crucial moment.
He glanced around before picking up a palm-sized rock. Feeling its solid weight in his hand, Vyral strengthened his resolve and headed deeper into the dungeon.
Just then, from the dark corners not far away, a group of skeletons armed with rusty weapons charged at Vyral.
[Skeleton Lv.1]
Surprised, Vyral instinctively stepped back. He never thought that monsters would actively come after him in the first stage of the dungeon. Based on this body’s information of the game, they usually just wandered around their range and waited for players to approach them. Perhaps the hell mode of this dungeon had changed a few of the initial settings to make things harder for players.
Normally, players might panic in this situation, even do stupid things like run away, but he knew that would only make things worse by drawing more monsters’ attention in the dungeon.
The best way was to face them directly without hesitation. It sounded like a mindless move, but in most cases, it was quite effective.
He could say that with confidence based on his years of experience playing these kinds of games through all kinds of unforeseen situations.
Only the ability to adapt could help players reach the top. Information was always an uncertain variable, and blindly relying on it was pure stupidity.
Vyral lunged at the first skeleton of the group, hurling the rock at its skull and forcing the charging skeleton to stagger, creating a precious opening.
"Perfect timing."
Vyral slammed into the skeleton, knocking it to the ground before instantly grabbing the skeleton’s rusty battle axe from the cold, damp floor.

But he didn’t stop there. He continued with a chain of actions as if everything had already been planned from the start, or perhaps it was simply the instinct of a veteran player.
His eyes flashed sharply as he pulled the battle axe upward in the midair, finally slicing through the skeleton’s neck.
The first skeleton collapsed, its skull severed and rolling away.

The sounds of announcements rang out together as long glowing lists of text suddenly appeared before him, momentarily blocking his vision. Since he wasn’t used to this yet, the obvious result came immediately – a brutal and precise kick from nowhere slammed into Vyral’s abdomen, sending him flying like a ragged doll. Finally, Vyral crashed into a nearby rock wall, unclear whether he was dead or not.
Of course, he was still alive.
"Damn it." Vyral cursed with a twisted, pained expression as he tasted blood on his lips.
