Chapter 9: Impundent

Yu Wen holstered the taser gun and crouched down next to the still twitching Li Jun. With hatred in his eyes, he said, "I have asked you before what happened that night but you dismissed me countless times... Maybe now that you are in custody, I can finally make you talk."

Li Jun gritted his teeth in fury. How could he tell him what happened when he didn’t remember anything? He imagined himself tearing Yu Wen to pieces and throwing him in a pit full of beasts. Sure, they never got along, and they exchanged blows numerous times but it didn’t warrant this type of treatment. He still was the Imperial Prince after all.

"You know what, fuck... you," he cursed, his voice drawled. He chuckled softly but soon he was coughing up a mouthful of blood.

Yu Wen knew he should wait until Li Jun was in maximum prison and torture the answers out of him but Li Jun always found a way to infuriate him that he could barely hold himself back. Since he still had the strength to laugh, then it didn’t hurt as much. He raised his fist and he was about to strike at his chest when the door opened and Yu Xuan rushed in in a panic.

"Your Highness!" he yelled, his body shaking. He pushed Yu Wen off him and, with a trembling hand, he reached out to touch his bruised and bloodied face while asking, "Does it hurt?"

Li Jun, who had pulled something when he moved, sucked in cold air and Yu Xuan said, "Sorry, did I hurt you?" He turned to face Yu Wen with a fierce glare like a mother bear protecting his cub. "Take this shit off him," he commanded, not at all caring that he was speaking to the most feared man in Aurelia.

Yu Wen was about to say he is under arrest when Takumi’s voice came through saying, "Yu Wen, it’s not Chronos... It’s glitter."

Hearing this, he clenched his fists, his eyes bloodshot. When he first read the search warrant, he thought Li Jun couldn’t be stupid enough to get involved in the drug business. But to even get this warrant, it meant there was hard irrefutable evidence. He stepped aside and asked, "Are you sure you searched everywhere?"

Takumi pressed his hand on his forehead, looking at the things they had overturned and the drones they had sent in every crevice in this place to scan for illegal substances. "We searched every inch of this place... there is nothing," he said.

Yu Wen suggested, "Maybe another loca-," but his voice was cut off by Yu Xuan yelling, "Get these things off him." Yu Wen knew he couldn’t arrest him tonight, so he walked over and crouched next to Li Jun, who was now sitting on the ground. He took off the cuffs and as soon as Li Jun’s hands and feet were free, he swung hard, punching Yu Wen right in the face.

Yu Wen wasn’t expecting him to attack, so he fell back but Li Jun wasn’t done with him. This bastard actually had the nerve to fucking tase him. They always said that he was just like his father, a mad tyrant with bloodlust in his genes, then he would show them what a real mad tyrant looks like.

Li Jun moved to strike again but Yu Wen blocked him and shoved him off his body. Li Jun, fueled by rage, put him in a choke hold and sank his teeth on his neck, biting hard until he could taste the smell of rust in his mouth. Yu Wen’s icy face cracked, his eyes widening.

Yu Xuan had intended not to stop him and let him vent his anger but seeing this unexpected turn of events, he pulled Li Jun off of him. Yu Wen elbowed Li Jun in the stomach but this only made Li Jun bite even harder. Alex, hearing the commotion, came flying to defend his boss. But when he walked in, his steps faltered and he almost tripped. How the hell did things escalate to biting?

Yu Xuan said, "Why the fuck are you standing there for. Help me separate them." Alex rushed over to help. Li Jun only let go when he was satisfied. He fell back into Yu Xuan, his lips stained red.

The general, who had fought countless battles and tortured countless enemies, was so shocked that he didn’t immediately react. When he saw those lips that were stained red smiling at him, he finally snapped. Yu Wen yelled, "Li Jun, are you fucking crazy!" while touching his neck. When he looked at his fingers, they were stained with blood.

"Where is his highness?" she asked but he shushed her and pulled her away in a hurry.
