Chapter 7: Did you miss me already?
The lights were turned on and the crowd, who had been dancing scandalously in the dark, instantly scattered like roaches after the lights turned on. When Yu Wen walked in, the nightclub was already in chaos with the crowd being ushered to the exits.
As they walked past him, they brushed against his shoulders, the smell of cheap perfume and smoke irritating his soul. Alex was well aware that his boss didn’t like people touching him, so he tried to walk ahead and clear the path for him but still one or two people would slip through and touch him unintentionally.
His expression was getting colder by the second, but he restrained himself. His main focus was on Li Jun, thus he looked up to the second floor expecting to catch a glimpse of him. There were private lounges on the second floor with balconies looking over the dance floor. Takumi approached him and said, "This way."
While Yu Wen was following behind him, the second in charge said, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is official business, kindly walk towards your nearest exit in a calm and collected manner. There are officers outside, they will give you further instructions." The people who were still surrounding them expressed their dissatisfaction.
Yu Wen entered the elevator and the commander glanced down and saw that he wasn’t armed. He was worried that he might walk into a trap and have no way to defend himself, so he asked, "Aren’t you going to need this?" handing him a plasma gun.
"That won’t be necessary," he replied coldly. Just then, the elevator doors opened with a ding and he stepped out. The commander led the way and when he reached the door to the private room, sounds of sticky laughter came from inside. Takumi and Alex glanced at Yu Wen as though asking him how to proceed.
They were all aware of Li Jun’s reputation. He was the type to stick his meat stick into anything that had two legs. Countless women had pictures on Starnet sitting beside him while drinking with him. Sometimes he would be hugging them, sometimes they were almost sitting on his lap, smiling flirtatiously at him.
This was why they were hesitating to enter the room. They were hesitating but Yu Wen wasn’t. He kicked the door and the young woman wearing an open back Cami top, her cleavage barely covered, jolted in fright.
Li Jun, on the other hand, didn’t react. He stayed sitting there with an infuriating smirk on his lips. While placing his hand on the backrest of the couch, he said, "General, to what do I owe this unexpected visit?"
Yu Wen met his gaze before glancing at the woman, his meaning obvious. Li Jun turned his gaze at the girl who had calmed down considerably. She was staring at Yu Wen like she under a spell. He clicked his tongue, not at all surprised that she was bewitched by those phoenix eyes. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Ever since the days at the academy, women would always throw themselves at Yu Wen, enthralled by his masculine energy and godlike face. But as though avoiding an infection, he would sidestep and not let anyone touch him. For a man who had gone to war and got splattered with blood, he was quite squeamish.
Li Jun pinched her chin and turned her head to face him. When she saw that enchanting face, like that of a fox demon, she found herself in a trance. Li Jun said, "Ah-Yuan."
Yu Xuan, who was standing by the window leaning against it lazily, said, "Your Highness."
Li Jun said, "Take my guest away, I am no longer in the mood. Make sure you compensate her for her time and that she gets home safe."
Xu Yuan said, "Yes, your Highness," as he walked over to help the young woman up. Having not had her fill, she was so reluctant to leave. She hadn’t even kissed him yet, but they were asking her to leave. What she didn’t know was that she wouldn’t have gotten that chance even if the night club wasn’t raided.
"Your highness, how will I contact you?" she said while being dragged away by Xu Yuan. Li Jun ignored her as he took a swig of his drink, gulping it all down. To the three men in front of him, Li Jun was a scumbag who had just used this woman only to dump her without taking any responsibility. It was disgusting and shameful.
Once she was gone, Li Jun put on a sarcastic smile and said, "You missed me already?" The two others were well aware that he wasn’t talking to them.
Takumi took two steps and said, "We have the authority to search your nightclub."
Li Jun arched his brow as he crossed his leg over his knee. He lightly tapped the glass resting on his knee with his finger before saying, "What are you looking for?" He was talking to the commander, but he was looking at Yu Wen. Yu Wen, on the other hand, was struggling to restrain his anger.
He remembered that on the day his father was cut down by a sword, Li Jun was there. His vision was getting blurry, but he saw Li Mingze placing the sword in Li Jun’s hand. He stood behind Li Jun and whispered, "We will never show mercy to traitors. You have to pull them from the root, otherwise... they will sprout all over again."
The next time he opened his eyes, Li Jun loomed over him, his clothes strained with blood. He was looking at him like he was staring at a worthless thing he could dispose of at will. He clenched his jaw tightly, the anger that had been festering beneath the surface at the verge of bursting like a dam wall.
The commander said, "We don’t need to inform you of what we are looking for. If we find it, you will immediately be put under arrest, Your Highness."
Li Jun laughed before saying, "And here I thought you forgot who you are talking to... Gentlemen, you can sit down while you wait. Would you like a drink?" He was calm, too calm in fact, that it made the commander uneasy. freeweɓnøvel.com
Li Jun had to have hidden the drugs somewhere they wouldn’t be easily found, that was the only explanation he could come up with. He excused himself and stepped outside. "Tear every wall down, we are not leaving here empty-handed," he said through the comms.
Echoes of "Yes, sir," followed as he walked to the elevator to get to the third level and join the search.
