Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Moment I Caught the Crown’s Monster Attention.
Everyone turned to look at the fool who dared to interrupt the execution going on.
"She must be out of her mind," people started murmuring.
"Maybe she’s planning to have her tongue cut off..."
"I’ve never seen her in the Royal Court before. Who is she?"
Everyone was talking until the King said,
"Silence... clear the way and let me see who uttered that word."
Everyone cleared the way, and the King looked at the girl who dared to interrupt the execution.
Celestia took her fan and removed it from her face, then proceeded to bow.
"Your Majesty, please ignore this girl, she’s unstable in the head," her mother said, trying to stop whatever she was trying to do.
"Mother, please stay out of this," Celestia frowned, looking at her mother.
The King supported her by saying,
"I don’t want any interruption from anyone. I would like to listen to what this young girl has to say."
"Girl."
She didn’t like the sound of that word, but anyway, what could she do for now?
Drazeil, who was about to remove the heart of the man in front of him, heard that voice. He retracted himself and was intrigued to know what she had to say. He dropped the man, who was barely breathing due to lack of air, and teleported to where he had been sitting before, looking at the girl who dared to disrupt the execution.
"She has quite the nerve doing that."
Celestia bowed and said,
"Your Majesty, I, Celestia from the House of Arywn, would like to request permission to speak."
"Come forward."
Celestia smiled, then opened her fan, fanned herself, and walked gracefully to the stage of the Royal Court.
"Such pride," someone sneered.
"Who the hell does she think she is?" another asked.
"A nobody, of course, who just needs attention," another lady with straight black hair responded. She stood with elegance, crossed her arms, and raised an eyebrow.
While Celestia was passing her, they both looked at each other. From that little interaction, Celestia deduced that they would definitely not get along.
When Celestia got to the stage, she looked at the man who was supposedly the Crown’s Monster. He was looking at her intently.
They say eyes are a mirror to the soul, but she couldn’t see or feel anything in this man’s eyes. It felt like there was not a single thing inside him anymore.
"You may speak. I would like to hear what you have to say, Lady Celestia."
Celestia bowed again and said,
"Thank you, my King, for giving me this opportunity to speak."
She turned to look at the crowd, and she saw her family. Her father had decided to speak with the royal guards, possibly telling them to inform the King not to give her a chance, that she was not right in the head.
She looked at her mother, who was signaling and pleading for her to get off the stage.
She started by asking the audience a rhetorical question:
"This punishment may be lawful... but is it truly just?"
"If justice is the foundation of this kingdom, then it must be questioned when it feels wrong."
"And I strongly feel this punishment feels wrong."
"So, are you implying that your family openly defied the King’s orders?" the chamberlain asked.
"Do not put words into my mouth, and I’m not done speaking yet." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"Ooh, I love her energy," Angelina said to herself.
The chamberlain felt insulted, but she was right.
She then turned to look at the King and said while bowing her head,
"Your Majesty, I ask for a moment of your attention, not as a challenger to your authority, but as someone who believes in the foundation your crown stands upon—JUSTICE."
"An execution is irreversible. Once carried out, no truth can bring a life back. And so I ask—has the truth in this matter been fully uncovered, or only presented through accusation?"
"We have heard of falsified records, and we have heard scandalous rumors. But we have not heard a full defense from the accused himself in this court. If judgment is passed without hearing all sides, then what we call justice becomes only a conclusion without understanding."
"If this man is guilty, then let it be proven beyond doubt. And if he is innocent in any part, then this court must not become the reason an irreversible mistake is made."
"I do not ask for mercy without reason. I ask for delay, for review, for truth to be fully weighed before the Crown makes a decision that cannot be undone."
"Because if justice is the pillar of this kingdom... then even justice must be willing to pause when uncertainty remains."
After saying that, some people in the audience started clapping, including Angelina. Most of those clapping were from the lower class, who had been invited to watch what could happen to them if they ever thought of defying the Crown. The nobles, high lords, and most high society members didn’t seem moved by her speech. Why would they? They had never felt this way before.
Drazeil started clapping slowly.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Everyone who had been clapping stopped.
His aura was definitely powerful. Just this small action of his, and everywhere suddenly became quiet.
"What a speech. How interesting..."
"You interrupt a royal execution... and yet you do not beg, nor do you tremble..."
"You ask for delay as if time is something the Crown owes you..."
"Tell me... who are you to stand in front of Death and ask it to wait?"
"I believe you know who I am, as I introduced myself earlier—that’s if you were even listening," Celestia murmured the last part.
"And I want you to repeat your introduction," Drazeil said, trying to intimidate her.
Celestia smiled. She knew what he was trying to do, and two could play the game he was trying to play.
She bowed and then said,
"I am Celestia of House Alwyn. Any other question?" frёewebηovel.cѳm
The chamberlain cleared his throat, trying to get both of their attention and cut off whatever they were doing that was causing tension.
As Celestia bowed, something caught Drazeil’s attention that immediately angered him. He saw a sign—a kind of tattoo glowing on her wrist, a crescent moon.
With the amount of pure energy he could feel emitting from it, there was only one thing he could think of.
Celestial energy.
His chest tightened, rage rising so suddenly it felt suffocating. Memories he had buried clawed their way back, and for a second, all he could hear was noise.
Drazeil teleported without thinking twice. He went to where the man who was meant to be executed was and then—
"Tahh!"
Edrian eyes widened, a strangled gasp escaping his lips—
Drazeil choked him and removed his heart brutally.
It all happened so fast that nobody could understand what was going on.
Then he teleported to where Celestia was standing and held her by the neck, carrying her up. Both his eyes had turned red, which meant one thing.
"Ruin."
