Chapter 1: Chapter 1: No One Stands Above The Crown.

"Bring the man out," the King said, his voice loud enough to send chills down the spine.

Two guards came from the back of the palace, dragging a man out who had been seriously beaten.

They brought him outside and, under the King’s decree , they tied him.

Celestia watched what was going on, with her red fan covering her face slightly, and only her eyes—red irises—could be seen.

Her family, the Noble Family of Alwyn, all sat together on one side, but she didn’t sit with them and instead chose to stand to get a closer view of what was happening, even though her mother was looking at her very sternly, signaling her to sit down.

What they didn’t realize was that Celestia was no longer the girl they thought she was. She still looked the exact same way she looked in her former world but the Soul, Mind, and Spirit of this Celestia standing in front of the Royal Court were different. Not their daughter who they thought she was. Standing beside her was her personal maid, Angelina.

Since Celestia got to this realm, as she would like to believe is the magical realm, the only person she knew she could trust was Angelina. From the memories, the soul who occupied this body before she decided to tamper with magic and commit suicide, Angelina could be trusted up to a certain point.

It was just yesterday when the King’s royal men came to the Alwyn Manor and demanded that the family butler be taken to the Royal Dungeon and be executed tomorrow.

No explanations.

She looked at her stepsister, Belle, her face looking so sad. From the memories of the soul which was in this body before, Celestia deduced that the butler and her stepsister were having an affair despite the fact that their father had promised her hand in marriage.

She wondered if that was the reason why he was going to get beheaded tomorrow. She looked at her parents and there was this tint of joy in them.

"No, I can’t let things be like this. This must be resolved."

Celestia had always had a moral code for everything that revolved around her, which was:

Never alter truth, even for ease. Never use power to harm. Always act in service of balance, never impulse. Protect the innocent; do not deceive. Honor free will; never control. Mercy and justice must walk hand in hand. Duty is above all desire. Truth is above all comfort. Balance is the law that guides all.

She didn’t know why, but ever since she had her sense of reasoning, anytime she sensed something wrong, this always rang a bell in her head.

Today, she was standing in front of the King’s Royal Court and she was not going to let anything happen to that man until she sensed he deserved it. But how was she going to do it?

After all, she’s the powerless daughter of the Alwyn Family, the top 5 greatest witches’ family, and she was born with no magic. This would have shaken the old soul, but this new Celestia—magic or not—justice must be served.

She turned to look at Angelina and asked:

"Is a person allowed to speak here?" freewebnσvel.cøm

Angelina looked at her Lady and said:

"Yes, my lady, but only if the King requests and permits it."

"Will he request it?"

"My Lady, I am not sure. It depends on whether the family seeks justice, but from the look of things..." she said, looking at where the rest of the Alwyn Family sat... "I doubt so."

"I see."

"My lady, I hope you are not thinking of speaking. It may cause trouble for you."

Celestia didn’t answer her and simply used her fan to blow herself slowly, observing everyone around her.

Most of the people here didn’t care and had just decided to come to hear gossip about what the man did to deserve such cruelty.

"Disgusting," she muttered.

The King finally spoke after some minutes of sitting down and discussing with his chamberlain.

"My chamberlain will now explain what this man did to deserve such death."

"What kind of death would he receive, Your Majesty?" someone from the crowd asked as all were curious.

"Death by the hands of Drazeil, the King’s Weapon."

There were gasps everywhere, even the butler who had been quiet all this while started shivering and cried out loud after hearing that.

Even Angelina made some sort of nervous reaction when she heard that name.

Celestia glanced at Belle and saw how she was fidgeting her hands and biting her lips. She was trying so hard to hold her tears.

"It’s not easy to watch the person you love in pain," Angelina said, looking at Belle.

"I suppose so," Celestia replied.

"Who is this King’s Weapon that everyone seems so afraid of?" Celestia asked, curious.

She didn’t remember or recall that name from the memories she had.

"Oh, my Lady, you spent almost all your life inside the manor and you don’t know anything about the outside world."

True. This was Celestia’s first public view. Her family, as usual, always left her at home as though she was some kind of plague the outside world had to stay away from. But she wasn’t going to be that girl anymore. She sneaked out of the manor with the help of Angelina, and her family were very surprised to see her here. But there was nothing they could do; they wouldn’t want to cause a scene dragging her out and tarnishing their image further, as that was the sole thing her mother and father valued most.

"...My lady." Angelina brought Celestia out of her daze.

"Are you alright? If you feel stressed, we can head back to the Manor now," Angelina asked, looking worried.

"No, I’m fine. You may continue what you were saying before." Celestia offered a small sweet smile to Angelina.

"So, the man he was talking about is rumored to be the illegitimate son of the King, but I do not know for sure if that rumor is real because according to what I heard from people who had seen him, he looks just nothing like the King at all... he is known as Drazeil, the King’s Weapon, known in whispers as the Crown’s Monster.

He has long silver hair and heterochromia eyes—one iris green, the other red. I heard if both his irises turn red, that means danger."

"Sounds interesting," Celestia said in her mind. Looks like she wouldn’t interrupt the King if he refuses to request, until the man who was going through killing her family’s butler came so she would have a chance to see him. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"You may proceed to read his crimes now, Chamberlain," the King said.

The Chamberlain stepped forward, opened a scroll, cleared his throat, and began to read:

"The accused, Edrian Vale, Chief Butler of House Alwyn, stands guilty of falsifying royal mana audit records during a period of kingdom-wide mana scarcity.

By royal law, every noble house is required to declare and surrender the exact measure of their mana reserves for the stability of the realm.

Yet House Alwyn submitted false records under his authority, concealing a significant portion of their allocated mana reserves from the Crown.

Such an act is not mere negligence; it is deception against the throne, interference with royal governance, and an offense that threatens the balance of the entire magical realm.

Furthermore, disturbing rumors have long circulated within noble society concerning improper conduct between the accused and Lady Belle Alwyn, the second daughter of House Alwyn, whose hand had already been promised in a Political Alliance to another.

Though whispers alone do not make law, the scandal brought disgrace upon noble order, dishonor upon a house bound by royal expectation, and cast suspicion upon loyalties best left unquestioned.

In a time where discipline must be absolute, neither betrayal nor corruption shall be tolerated. As Chamberlain of His Majesty’s court, I declare these offenses worthy of judgment.

By the King’s decree, Edrian Vale shall face immediate public execution, that all noble houses may remember;

"NO ONE STANDS ABOVE THE CROWN."
