Seeing Doran’s volatile behaviour Skyla had concluded that he could explode any moment. If he would hit her anywhere other than her face, she could end up hurting or worse losing her baby. She needed to play along for the sake of her child.
He had shifted her to the bed from the chair and had tied her arms and one leg with chains so she wouldn’t escape. She checked and the chains were pretty strong, no way she would be able to break them.
She glanced around and there was a table exactly opposite to the bed and her framed picture rested atop.
Why did he keep it right opposite the bed where he did all kinds of sinful deeds? The thought repulsed her.
From the chair, she had been unable to see it but now from the bed, she had a direct view of her picture. It felt so wrong and creepy.
She had lost track of time but knew it was more than 24 hours since she had been brought here.
Her hands carefully rested on her belly, her child was at peace for now but she herself was extremely restless. Her mind wandered to Zyair and her heart instantly tinged with pain.
Silent tears fell from her eyes as she stared at the red ceiling.
She knew he wouldn’t be boding well to her disappearance. They had gotten so used to each other’s presence that it was difficult to imagine even living a single day without the other.
Knowing him she couldn’t help but think how desperately he must be searching for her. Not only him but all her loved ones too. Huria would have been livid as well, she could imagine her best friend’s angry face. A constant ache and settled in her heart being separated from her family and friends.
She turned to her left, trying to get comfortable amidst all those chains, stifling emotions and constant fear of Doran. It had her on the edge and her body was stuck in fight and flight mode.
The woman on the floor had gone to sleep, cuddled up with her legs while Doran was in the bathroom. Any minute and he would make an appearance. Hearing the unlocking of the bathroom door, Skyla quickly turned away from its direction and squeezed her eyes shut.
Her heartbeats went insanely fast as she counted every second and prayed that he wouldn’t climb in bed with her. But her luck was not in her favour.
He walked briskly to where she lay all tied up. The bed slowly dipped behind her and sheets slightly rustled as he lay down behind her. He turned, lying sideways so his face was towards her back. His cold hand crawled up on her arm, rubbing it slowly. Shivers of revulsion crawled all over her body.
"Did you like the wedding gift I sent you?" He asked in a low calculated voice. The one he always used when he expected an answer of his liking.
She feigned sleep, not wanting to play his manipulative games. The urge to jerk her arm away was seeping into her bones.
"I know you are awake, Skyla." His grip on her arm tightened and he shifted her towards him so she would face him.
Skyla obeyed without any resistance, one wrong move and her child could be endangered. Taking extra care of her belly so no discomfort would be caused to her baby, she turned to face him.
She slowly and unwillingly opened her eyes to gaze at the face she had found handsome in the past. Now it just sowed abhorrence in her gut and wishes in her brain to punch it hard.
Gently his thumb brushed the bruises Karen and he himself had given her earlier.
Skyla tried to keep her expressions as neutral as possible although her body desperately attempted to flinch away from him.
"There is nowhere to hide from me, stop trying. I really don’t want to hurt you so don’t give me a reason. Understood?" He spoke in that cold voice of his which always affected her emotionally.
"Yes!" She answered, keeping a stoic face, not letting him read what was swirling in her mind and heart.
"That thing in your womb, it has to go." His other hand slid down and touched where her baby was peacefully sleeping. The touch was not harsh and yet it seemed to have branded her soft skin.
Skyla froze for multiple seconds, the fear had her paralyzed as it clung to her like a deep shadow of angst, tormenting her, spreading over her like a shroud of pure agony.
"NO, please! Spare my child." Skyla never thought she would have to beg that man ever again but the perilous situation she had been thrown into demanded it. The painful tears were welling up in her sorrowful eyes. She blinked and blinked so they wouldn’t fall out.
Doran knew how to control her. Her child was her weakness, she would do anything he wanted to keep her little one safe. He snickered slowly.
"If you promise to never leave my side, never to escape and birth me children. I can think about letting this one live in some faraway orphanage." His hand applied pressure on her stomach and she involuntarily tried to jerk away from him.
No way was she going to let him hurt her child. She couldn’t even imagine being separated from this little being she had yet to meet, who already owned her heart and body.
’Orphanage?’ The word painfully echoed and drummed in her brain.
Her child was not parentless nor had he or she yet come into this world and yet this barbaric man was deciding a tragic fate.
"Leave him with his father and I promise I will stay by your side. I won’t defy you, just don’t be this cruel Doran. You were a child once too, you understand how difficult it is to grow up without a parent. Without both parents it will be extremely traumatic for the child," Skyla pleaded, praying that he would remove his hand and show mercy, although there was none on his hardened face.
A mirthless laugh echoed deep into his chest and was let loose. He shook his head at her in a way that said, ’You know nothing.’ frёewebηovel.cѳm
"My naive and pretty wife has no clue as to what I have been through." He watched her with a scoff covering his face and instantly retreated before standing up.
The darkness that danced like shadows dug its nails into him and they became one. The sane part of him vanished yet again, she could see it on his face.
Skyla wearily watched, every muscle in her body tensing for she had no clue what was about to come next.
He turned and stormed towards the sleeping woman in the corner. Towering over her, he watched her sleeping figure with utmost contempt before spitting on her face. He then began mercilessly kicking her in the legs which were hiding her stomach.
Skyla and she shrieked at the same time, while the younger woman covered her mouth so as not to scream again the one on the floor tried to make herself as small as possible and shielded her whole face with her arms while wiping the spot with her arm.
He kicked her repeatedly without any form of remorse on his face, instead she found vile hatred crawling all over it.
The crimson light highlighted parts of his face, the face of a red demon was what Skyla could see as she watched in horror at what was unfolding.
"You know who she is? She is Arica, my father’s mistress. The woman who took away my innocence and made me the living breathing monster I am today," he raged as he went on and on.
While Arica agonisingly screamed and begged for him to stop. Her painful cries were too much for Skyla to hear.
Her hands held her stomach so protectively and she feared he might not end up kicking her too. She remembered his words.
’You reminded me of her.’
This was her he had referred to. What exactly had the woman done to Doran? Destroyed his innocence? Was he used against his will by her? So many questions birthed in Skyla’s brain as she witnessed him grabbing her by the hair and making her face Skyla.
The pure agony was etched on her bruised face, the face which must have been beautiful in the past. Now it was like the skeletal remains of a mummified one, with patches of brown and purple.
"Go on, tell my wife what you did to me. Make sure to give every tiny detail. If you miss out on anything, I will whip you naked, all night long. Understood."
The words so full of hatred and bludgeoned with threats left Doran’s mouth and Skyla knew it was just the beginning of the horror show he was about to put on for her.
