Chapter 9: Back Home
A few days later... ƒrēewebnovel.com
Arianna had already arrived in New York with her brother, Cassian.
She smiled when their car drove into the familiar streets, then the estate of her family’s house.
Everyone was already waiting for her outside.
She saw them—her mother, father, Nicholas, her other brother, and then, her older sister, Josephine. Arianna was the youngest of the Wesleys, making her family even more overprotective of her.
As soon as she got out of the car, her mother came rushing over to her with tears in her eyes.
"Mia figlia. Mi sei mancata tanto. My daughter. I’ve missed you so much." She pulled Arianna into a tight hug as tears streamed down her face.
When she released her, she frowned slightly as she checked Arianna’s wrist.
"Hai perso peso. You’ve lost weight." The woman had a worried look on her face as if her daughter was going to fade away soon.
"Mother, will you let her breathe? She just arrived," Josephine came to Arianna’s rescue. "She was just discharged from the hospital, remember?"
"Non le hanno dato da mangiare in ospedale? Did they not feed her in the hospital?" The woman questioned.
Arianna wasn’t surprised that her mother still spoke heavily in Italian. They’d been living in New York since she could remember, but according to Cassian, they’d moved from Naples, one of Italy’s largest cities, due to some issues she still had no idea about.
"Mother, it’s my turn now." Josephine stood in front of Arianna, a big smile on her lips.
Arianna already knew what she was going to say so she just prepared herself.
"I knew you couldn’t live in the outside world without me, now look who’s back after so many years."
Arianna rolled her eyes back already knowing these were the things Josephine would say.
Then she hugged her, her hands wrapping around her so tightly she thought Josephine was determined to take her breath away.
"Welcome back, sister," she whispered in her ear right before pulling away.
"I think it’s my turn now," said Nicholas, practically pushing Josephine away. "My little sister." Then he hugged her just as tightly as Josephine had done, maybe even more.
"Nicholas, I can’t breathe," Arianna struggled. freewebnøvel.com
"Get your hands off her. Are you trying to kill her or something?!" Cassian came to rescue, ripping Nicholas’s hands off her pushing him away.
Then Arianna made eye contact with her father, the Don of the Italian mafia, Cosa Nostra.
Naturally, the man always had a stern look but with his family, he always looked like he couldn’t harm a fly, a false facade to disway anyone who probably didn’t know him.
Seeing him again after many years brought tears to Arianna’s eyes, tears she didn’t know she didn’t plan on shedding at all.
"Come here." He said with open arms. Arianna dropped everything and ran towards her, and he wrapped his arms around her while she buried her face in his chest. "I’m so glad that you’re back."
She nodded. "I’m glad too, Father."
The Wesley family went into their home where lunch had already been served.
The dinner was quiet but Arianna knew each of them had questions hanging at the tips of their tongues that they wanted to ask her, especially regarding Logan and Vivian.
She watched her mother and father exchange eye contact, as if the same thought passed through their minds. They looked hesitant, while Josephine and Nicholas exchanged looks as well.
"You can ask me any questions that you want," she said.
They turned their heads towards her, eyes wide as if surprised she’d just read their minds.
Mr. Wesley coughed first before he parted his lips to speak. "What Logan and Vivian did to you was terrible. So, if you want us to capture them and bring them here so you can torture them till they beg for death, we can deliver your wishes."
"Your tools are still in the dungeon and don’t worry, I cleaned them every day to keep them away from rusting. I bet they missed their owners and can’t wait to cut body parts," Nicholas added with a wink.
Arianna revealed a downward smile.
If a normal person walked in on them casually talking about cutting a body part, they would definitely think they’ve gone crazy and quickly call for the mental asylum and police.
"Thanks for keeping my tools for me, Nikki," she said before turning to her father. "But I don’t want to hurt them that way, father, at least not now."
Everyone’s eyebrows creased in confusion. That was the special way of hurting an enemy. It was very effective especially when it came to getting information out of them.
"I want to torture them first mentally, then snatch everything I helped them build, get my properties back in my name, and finally, make them pay with the tools," she explained.
Nicholas looked like he was confused.
"But isn’t that process long and stressful?" Arianna turned her head towards him as he continued. "I mean, you can bring them here, torture him to sign the papers, transferring everything he stole back to you, and possibly get him to sign everything in his name as well. You get your revenge."
"She could do that but I like her process much better. They won’t see you coming at all," Josephine agreed, winking at Arianna.
Arianna had helped build Logan’s business until it became an empire. Not only that, with her connection, she’d helped build Vivian’s career until she became one of the most famous A-list celebrities in the whole Europe, sought out by brands and entertainment companies.
It had all been with her blood, sweat, and tears that they managed to reach so far in life. And she was going to take everything back, no matter what.
