Chapter 4: How I Die?
Arianna woke up to a bucket of cold water splashing her face. She jumped, coughing hard as she tried to regain her balance.
When she managed to, she saw a couple standing right before her.
Her newest enemies.
Logan and Vivian, posing like a power couple with Logan standing in his full height, 6’2, hands in his pockets, while Vivian stood right next to him in her full 5’7 height in heels, wearing a familiar dress this time around.
Vivian was wearing her navy blue dress, the one Logan had gotten for her for their wedding anniversary a few months ago.
They both had smiles on their faces, delighted with what they’d done—kidnapping her.
She glanced around, completely ignoring them.
They seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. Bushes and trees covered the area, and two cars were parked with their headlights facing her.
She felt a movement right behind her. With just a slight tilt of her head, she saw two large men standing right behind her.
She recognized them.
They were their home’s security guards. She’d been the one to offer them the job but Logan was fully their boss, which was why she wasn’t surprised by their betrayal.
"What are all these for? A charade?" Arianna asked.
Vivian laughed as if Arianna had just cracked a joke.
"You’re so funny," she said, moving her hand along the dress, bringing her attention towards it. "By the way, do you like what I’m wearing?"
Arianna’s lips curled to the side. "I’m not surprised you want to be me so badly. I’m an icon after all."
Vivian’s smile instantly faltered into a frown, her lips thinning out.
"I think you have a pretty good idea why you’re here," Logan cut her off before she could come up with a comeback. "Max, get me those documents."
One of the men behind her walked to the car, retrieved a document, and came back, handing it to Logan.
"Here’s your shares documents. I want you to sign it."
He stretched out his hand with the document towards her.
Her gaze dropped on it before she burst out laughing.
First, it was about him cheating on her with Vivian, then Clara being his biological child he had with Vivian and now, he wants her to sign off her shares to him.
Arianna threw her head back and laughed hysterically. She didn’t blame them for thinking she was a fool. They’d played in her face for several years after all.
However, demanding she signed off her shares in his company was completely laughable.
They were married, owned a business together and while helping him, she’d asked for a 30% shares in his company which he’d reluctantly given to her. With that number of shares, she was practically the second person with the most authority in the company.
But now, he was asking for it back.
"What in that little mind of yours made you think that I’ll sign those papers?" Her head was tilted to the side, truly curious to know what he was thinking.
"It’s simple," Logan started. "If you don’t sign these papers..." He reached into his pocket and retrieved a gun. Cocking it, he pointed it at her. "I’ll kill you."
Arianna stared at the gun pointed at her with a blank face.
If someone had ever told her that Logan Henderson, the one she loved with all of her heart would threaten to kill her, she would have either slapped them hard across the face or sued them for false accusation, or both.
Arianna tried to move, but her hands were tightly tied right behind her back, making it impossible for her to move properly.
"So which is it going to be, my love? Signing the document or your life?"
’Neither.’ Arianna thought.
She doubted Logan was going to let her go alive after she signed the documents. If he could go to the extent of threatening to kill her, he would do it and get rid of her body.
Her only way would be to fight her way out. She wasn’t going to sign off years of hard work just like that.
"You’re going to have to make me."
Logan narrowed his gaze on her before he gestured for both men to tackle her down. Shockingly, they’d untied her first.
Due to the size difference, which was a big disadvantage for her, she created a distance, tackling one after the other but the chances of her escaping were thin to none.
Logan was shocked to see Arianna display martial arts skills. He had no idea she could fight.
He whistled for more men to come out from the other car, engaging in the fight.
Five huge men ganged up against Arianna, making it difficult for her to get a proper blow. All she received were punches after punches until her face started bleeding.
She fell to the floor, blood spurting out of her mouth.
Logan walked towards her, forced the pen between her fingers, and said, "This wouldn’t have happened if you’d just signed the papers."
Then he stained the ink with her signature while she struggled to get free from him.
His eyes gleamed with happiness after he’d gotten her to sign every page.
Vivian handed him another document.
"This is the property papers," she said, excitement filling her tone.
Just like the shares document, Logan forced her signature on the property papers, signing everything to his name.
"I don’t think we need her for anything anymore." He glanced around. "Are you sure nobody comes to this part of the forest?"
"Yes boss," Max responded. "We can just dump her corpse here for the wild animals to eat."
Speaking of wild animals, a wolf howled, gaining their attention.
"We have to leave," Vivian said, gripping Logan’s hand tightly.
He turned to Arianna who was barely surviving now.
"Goodbye, my love."
Arianna mustered all the energy she could and threw sand in their faces.
Then she took off before they could realize she wasn’t there anymore.
Unfortunately for her, she could barely run. Her legs were broken and parts of her body were already starting to bleed as she ran deeper into the forest.
She heard the men chasing right behind her while Vivian threw profanities at her.
Then the shots came, not once but twice, slicing through the air and puncturing her skin.
Blood spurted out as she fell to the ground, face flat on the leaves. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Was this it? Was this how she was really going to die?
