Chapter 487: Chapter 487 - Hideout(Part 3)
"Good, looks like they’re all drunk. According to Appraisal, there are a couple of Detectors in there, but it looks like they haven’t noticed us. Well, they probably think there’s no reason to keep their Magic active. Now, then...," I muttered quietly as Celes as I peered into the hall from the corridor, before secreting venom from my fangs.
I generated heat in my mouth, vaporizing the venom, before firing out a thick cloud of poison mist into the hall from my mouth.
It spread through the space, expanding out as I blew out a steady stream of the poison. It was like a slight fog, and as drunk as the bandits were, they didn’t notice.
"Excellent work, fellas, those ladies should get us a good chunk of change. They should be waking up any minute now, I’m going to head in there soon. The confused reactions that twist into despair and terror is the best part, I can never get enough," Laughed the leader.
"Mind if I tag along, boss? I was the one who tricked them, after all, I wanna see the looks on their faces when they realize I betrayed them!"
"Hahaha, I’d like to see that too, so-...," Began the leader, before coughing as he stumbled back, a dazed look on his face.
"Woah, you alright there, boss? Think you might’ve had too much to...to...," Muttered one of the other bandits, before tensing as he began coughing, a trail of blood trickling out of his left nostril.
"Wha...what’s happening to me...?"
"M-My chest hurts, what is this?!"
Several of the bandits began coughing out blood, gasping and wheezing in agony as the poison took effect. Both Celes and I have Total Immunity, so poison has no effect on us.
"Ready?" I asked her, as I tranformed my hands into daggers.
"Oh, yeah," She nodded with an eager smile, as she pulled her dual blades out of her Item Box.
The two of us then rushed out of the corridor, before I snapped my jaws open and unleashed a blazing wave of blue flames, cries of agony ringing out as my flames engulfed several of them, burning them alive and killing them in a matter of seconds.
A sharp, crackling blast followed by excruciating screams of pain echoed out as Celes unleashed several black lightning bolts, her attacks bursting through the bandits, fatally wounding them.
"Wh-Who the hell are you?!" Exclaimed one of the bandits, tears of blood streaming down his eyes as he shakily shot towards me with a spear, swinging it at me. freewёbnoνel.com
A sharp clang rang out as I blocked his slash with the blade of my left hand, before I whipped my tail across and sliced his throat open in an instant, killing him.
"Come on, is that the best you’ve got?!" Exclaimed Celes, as she flew up and swooped down with immense speed, a loud crunch ringing out as she slammed her feet onto the top of a bandit’s head, adding as she caved his skull in upon impact, "Heh, it’s still a hundred years too soon for you to fight me!"
"N-No way, they’re...they’re Unique Monsters!" Yelled the leader in alarm, collapsing onto one knee as we continued massacring the bandits.
More of them began streaming in from the doorways around the hall, Celes and I swiftly blasting them with flames and lightning.
As the leader began to crawl away towards the front entrance, I rapidly extended my tail out, his body stiffening as I wrapped my tail around his right leg.
He let out a yell as I lifted him off the ground and flung him away with a sharp flick of my tail, sending him hurtling across the room before his back slammed onto the wall, a pained groan ringing out as he slumped down onto the floor.
It wasn’t long before we finished cutting down all the bandits in the hideout, only the leader left alive by the time we were done.
"D-Damn it...!" He exclaimed, as he shakily got back onto his feet and drew out a sword, before firing a blast of wind towards me.
I swallowed up the blast with Magic Eater, before I shot towards him at top speed, swinging my right arm across as he slashed at my head with his sword.
His eyes widened in horror as my transformed hand sliced straight through his blade, before he gasped in agony as I plunged my other hand straight into the middle of his chest, the blade boring into his body as I pierced through his ribcage.
"Wh-Why...why are you doing this...? Who...who are you?" He uttered weakly, as blood streamed out of his mouth.
"I mean, I have no personal grudge against you, but you’re a piece of shit, along with your crew here, so I have no reason not to kill you. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure all the treasure and goods you’ve got in here won’t go to waste, they’ll be in better hands," I replied with a smile.
"Y-You bastard...!" He growled, before I pulled my blade back out with a violent twist, before striking the top of his head with my whip, splitting his skull open.
"Well, that takes care of that. Honestly, it was too easy, disappointingly so," Celes sighed wistfully.
"Yeah, we’ve fully mastered our powers at this point, so it’s only natural that some random bandits wouldn’t stand a chance against us, even with how heavily they outnumbered us," I pointed out, as I high-fived her.
"Heh, we’re pretty awesome, huh? So, what next? Do you think we got all of them?"
"Mhm, I think so. Let’s go put their stuff into our Item Boxes, I’ll look around the hideout with World Map to make sure there aren’t any of them still alive, hiding out somewhere. Once we’ve taken everything, we’ll free the slaves, get out of here and blast this place to the ground."
"Why the last part?"
"I mean, don’t you think it’ll be fun to let loose with reckless abandon and cause some harmless yet devastating destruction?"
"Well, when you put it that way..."
