Chapter 19: Chapter 19- Departure
Chapter 19- Departure
Zen walked out of his apartment only to find Cipha waiting for him outside. She was leaning against her car, eating what seemed to be a sandwich she had probably bought before coming here. Since they had to leave extremely early, they didn’t have proper meals, so they had to eat anything they could on the go.
Zen watched her for a second, almost entranced by her presence, before he walked down to her.
"Good morning." He said with a smile on his face.
"Good morning. Did you sleep well?" Cipha asked as she wiped her mouth.
"Somewhat. You?"
"Not bad. Are you ready?"
"Yeah, I didn’t have much to pack anyway. I have also given the apartment to the landlord."
"You will be able to buy your own house soon. I hope you aren’t regretting this decision, though."
"No, I am completely in, as I said," Zen replied. "Can’t really miss out on something like this."
Cipha nodded her head and signaled for her driver to turn the car on.
"Let’s go then, the plane is waiting." She said.
"Waiting?" Zen raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, to avoid unnecessary risk, we are going to take my private jet to our destination.
"..." Zen stared at her for a second. ’Private jet... Those cost a fortune to rent, let alone own. It always amazes me how much money Heavensoul has.’
Since it was one of the four pillar clans, it moved like a massive country and not some organization. In fact, all four pillar clans have more money than most countries in the world while boasting an infinitely smaller population. It was simply ridiculous to even think about.
’Oh well, no reason to complain, my wife is simply amazing!’ He shrugged and got inside the car before it stormed off.
Even early in the morning, the city was as active as ever. The sun was rising in the distance, peeking through the buildings. The weather was slightly cold but not unpleasant. Zen watched the scenery move like a flash. This city that he grew up in and that he knew like the back of his hand was disappearing behind him.
The next time he sees it, he will be a completely different person. freewebnovel.cσ๓
’Next time I will come back, I will have already changed everything. That’s an oath.’ He clenched his fists tightly with determination.
Several minutes later, the duo arrived at the airport. With the capital being one of the biggest cities in the world, the airports in it were naturally busy 24/7, and today was no exception.
Countless people walked in and out of it every single second. Zen picked up his bag and dragged it up the stairs as Cipha talked to her driver for a few moments. Then, she grabbed her bag and bid him farewell.
"He isn’t coming with us?" Zen asked curiously as he looked over her shoulder.
"No. It’s better if he doesn’t; his life would be at risk." Cipha said. "Besides, I tasked him with other stuff to do. Let’s go."
Cipha said as she walked in, followed by Zen. The two then moved through the procedures of the boarding, which were quite strict. In a world full of hunters and supernatural things, there was no end to the ways things could go wrong, especially for normal civilians. The security had to be tight and very strong.
’There are even Hunters working as guards here. I guess they’re all a part of the association.’ Zen thought to himself as he looked left and right, noticing several figures that stood out. They were mostly E-Rank hunters, the weakest of the weak, but since their job didn’t require a high skill level, they were more than enough to take care of most problems.
"... Hey, Zen."
As the two were passing through security, Cipha leaned in and whispered in his ear. "Keep an eye on your surroundings, just in case."
"... I’m aware. I haven’t dropped my guard at all." He replied. Zen was certain that there was a high chance they would be followed by unwanted eyes, and in a place filled with people like this, it was extremely hard to locate any stalkers.
’I can’t spread my senses either, or it will risk us being exposed. I have to be smart about it.’ Zen thought to himself as he secretly stared left and right, analyzed every single face he saw, and tried to look for any abnormalities. His extremely impressive memory made it a lot easier to remember all those faces.
Nothing seemed off for the time being, so he didn’t think much of it. Eventually, they passed all the procedures and walked into an open area that led to the private jet.
There, outside the aircraft, were the staff and the pilot waiting in line for Cipha. The moment they saw her, they all bowed their heads in respect."
"Miss Cipha, it’s our honor to see you again on this fine day." The pilot said. "How are you?"
"I’m doing ok."
"That’s great... How is your father?"
Cipha pursed her lips subtly before she nodded. "He is."
"Oh, ehem, please send him my good wishes." frёewebnoѵēl.com
’You really screwed up there, buddy. That’s the last person you should mention in front of her.’ Zen thought with a casual look on his face. ’Her relationship with her dad was never good, and sadly will never be good. They are as good as strangers to each other.
Only Zen knew the reason for it, and it was also why he never liked her family or her clan. They were as detestable as any other greedy clan out there. They were one of the main reasons for Cipha’s horrid childhood and the trauma she carried for the rest of her life.
"Is the jet ready to leave?" She asked.
"Of course. We can leave immediately."
"Good, I don’t want any time wasted."
So, the flight attendants grabbed their bags and led them into the jet. It was shockingly big, with bedrooms, a kitchen, and even a shower. It was like a moving hotel room. Everything felt luxurious and pristine, even for Zen, who had experienced that luxury before.
’This feels awkward to be in.’ He mused as he sat down on the comfy chair. Cipha sat opposite him as she crossed her legs.
"So, where is our first destination?" Zen asked.
"The southern coast. There is someone we need to meet immediately in Viragia." Cipha explained. "He is one of the key pieces I’m looking for."
’Viragia, huh? That’s not bad. There are several places near Viragia I want to check. I could get some pretty nice gear and even a very good rune there. The person she’s talking about should be ’him’.’
Zen knew who that person was, and he knew why he was considered a key piece in their grand plan. It was safe to even say that his presence was crucial for the plan to have a chance of working.
There was one small problem, however... One very minute problem.
’Actually, it’s quite the annoying problem.’ Zen sighed inwardly. ’He is going to be such a headache for a while. But, I should be able to deal with him better this time.’
