Chapter 12: Belong To Me

KADEN’S POV

"No!" I screamed in rage.

I was kneeling on the floor, holding Helen’s lifeless body. Her eyes stared blankly up at the ceiling. Her stomach—the beautiful, round belly that held our unborn son—was torn open. Standing over us was Rebecca. Blood dripped from her fingers as she held the heavy iron rod, a cruel laugh echoing through the empty halls.

I sat up fast in bed, gasping loudly for air as my chest rose and fell. Sweat soaked my sheets, making my hair stick to my forehead.

I covered my face with my hands, forcing myself to breathe. I tried to push the bad dream back into the dark corners of my mind. It was just a dream. But the empty, freezing pain in my chest reminded me that real life was barely any better. Helen was dead. Our son was gone.

Pure, angry rage completely took over me. I couldn’t just sit here in the dark. I needed to see the woman who had caused all this. I needed to remind her of the living hell she had brought upon herself.

I threw off the covers. I was shirtless as I swung my legs over the side of the bed. I checked the silver watch on my wrist. It was just past midnight.

"Guards!" I roared into the empty room, my loud voice shaking the walls.

The heavy bedroom doors quickly pushed open, and a warrior stepped inside, bowing his head deeply. "Yes, Alpha King?"

"Bring me the breeder," I growled, my dark eyes flashing with anger. "Now."

"Right away, Alpha." The guard scrambled backward and hurried out, shutting the doors behind him.

I walked over to the massive windows of my bedroom, watching the silver moonlight shine over the pack grounds. The pathetic, murderous she-wolf from the Blood Moon Pack thought she would find peace here. Never. She was going to give me back the child she stole, even if I had to break her every single night to get it.

Twenty minutes passed.

I stared at the door, my jaw clenched so tightly the bones looked ready to snap. The servants’ rooms were only a five-minute walk from my doors.

"Beta Logan," I spoke into the quiet room.

Logan stepped out from the dark shadows near the doorway, standing stiff and straight. "Yes, Alpha King?"

"Where is the prisoner?" I growled, turning around slowly. "I do not like to wait. Have the guards forgotten who gives the orders in this house?" freewebnovel.cσ๓

Logan frowned, looking down at his tablet. "They left the servants’ wing fifteen minutes ago, Alpha. They should have been at your door by now."

A dark, bad feeling twisted in my gut. My sharp Alpha senses caught nothing unusual yet, but the silence from the lower floors felt wrong.

My wolf, completely wild with grief and anger, suddenly slammed against the walls of my mind. Something is wrong. They are taking too long.

Before Logan could even speak, I lunged forward. I threw my bedroom doors open so hard they slammed violently against the hallway walls. I didn’t take the main stairs. Guided by a dark instinct, I marched down the dark halls toward the narrow, empty corridor of the servants’ wing.

With every step I took, my anger grew into a blinding rage.

I reached the lower hallway and stopped dead in front of an old, heavy wooden door leading into a supply room. The muffled sound of a struggle and a loud, disgusting laugh came from the other side.

"Stop moving, bitch," a guard’s voice hissed from inside. "The King had you anyway. Let us see what a royal breeder tastes like."

The disrespect alone—the violation of my direct order—made my vision darken with rage. Nobody touched what belonged to the Alpha King. Nobody!

With a brutal roar that shook the whole house, I raised my leg and kicked the heavy wooden door. The wood shattered into pieces. The door flew completely off its frame and crashed loudly into the dark room. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

The lights flicked on as Logan rushed in behind me, but I was already moving.

In the middle of the dark supply room, Rebecca was pinned against a metal shelf. Her plain blue dress was torn at the shoulder, and her pale skin was covered in fresh scratches. One of my mansion guards had his rough hand clamped over her bleeding mouth, while the other was tearing at the bottom of her skirt.

The moment they saw me, their faces turned completely white. They dropped her instantly, jumping backward into the wall, their knees shaking in pure fear.

"Alpha King!" the first guard gasped, instantly dropping to his knees. "Please! She... she is a murderer! We were just punishing her for the Queen—"

"Silence!" I roared.

Rebecca collapsed onto the dirty floor, curling into a shaking ball as she held her torn blue dress against her chest. Her chest rose and fell with ragged, sobbing gasps. Her wide, terrified eyes stared up at me through a blur of tears.

I stepped into the room, my heavy boots crushing the broken wood of the door. The air turned suffocating as my Alpha presence filled every corner of the room.

"Did I give you permission to touch her?" I whispered, my voice incredibly low and deadly.

"No, Alpha, but—"

Before the guard could finish his sentence, I lunged forward. My hand shot out like lightning. My claws came out as I grabbed him by his throat and lifted his heavy body completely off the ground. He choked, clawing desperately at my wrists, his legs dangling in the air.

"She is my prisoner," I hissed into his terrified face, my dark eyes drilling into his. "She is my breeder. Her body, her pain, and her life belong only to me. If anyone in this pack thinks they can touch my property and live, they are dead wrong."

With a sharp crack, I snapped his neck, dropping his lifeless body onto the floor like a piece of trash.

The second guard let out a whimper, crying as he pressed himself flat against the wall. "Alpha, please! Have mercy!"

I didn’t even look at him. "Logan. Throw him into the deepest cell of the dungeon. Let the warriors know that anyone who disobeys an order about the breeder will face the exact same thing."

"Right away, Alpha King," Logan muttered, grabbing the crying guard by his hair and dragging him out into the hallway.

The supply room fell into a heavy, painful silence, broken only by the sound of Rebecca’s quiet, shaking breaths. I looked down at her battered body on the dirty floor. She looked so small and fragile, clutching the torn blue cloth against herself while fresh blood slid down her thigh.

I felt no pity for her. She had killed my Helen. She deserved to suffer. But as I stared at her shaking shoulders, a strange, dark feeling of possessiveness tightened in my chest.

I marched over, bending down to grip her upper arm in a tight hold. She flinched violently, a quiet cry escaping her lips as I yanked her off the floor, forcing her to stand on her weak, shaking legs.

"Look at me," I ordered, my voice rough.

She slowly lifted her head. Her pale face was covered in tears and dirt, her bottom lip shaking. But beneath the fear, that same stubborn spark remained deep inside her eyes.

"You belong to me, Rebecca," I whispered darkly, leaning close until my breath brushed against her cheek. "Nobody else gets to break you. Now, get up to my room."
